THE GOD EATER

He was nodding as thought, ’Without lifespan, I won’t die. But I might also become unable to think and move, which might not be worse than death. So I shouldn’t try to see how bad things will get when I run out of lifespan.’

’All in all, becoming a Dao Lord is a good thing. It can be said that my entire existence has undergone a transformation, turning me into something else entirely. I have become bigger and better.’

’If the price I have to pay for this is my inability to return to the Sea of Worlds, it is completely fine. Unfortunately, it isn’t the only thing I’ve lost.’

As he was expanding, he could feel that he was slowly losing the ability to use his Cave Heaven as a source of power. Apparently, while the third heaven was quite accommodating to his body, it was intolerant of the world within him.

Because of this suppression, he can only use the Domain he just established in the Blessed Heaven World. So the new South Domain in the Blessed Heaven World will become the new source of amplification from his Cave Heaven.

’It is not surprising, to be honest. The Second Heaven had something like this where the power of the Cave Heaven couldn’t be used.’

’At least, I have become strong enough to bypass such a restriction by using a world as my source of power. Plus, I can even gain more power by establishing Domains all over the worlds of the Sea of Worlds.’

’The more Domains I have and the more Supreme Metacs I’ve invested in worlds, the greater the power I will gain from the Sea of Worlds. However, because of this restriction, I can’t ignore the Sea of Worlds no matter what I feel about it.’

Shaking his head, he thought, ’Without being told, I now know why Dao Lords must intervene in the affairs of the Sea of Worlds and establish sects. It is a struggle for power, so it is a struggle for life.’

’I have the Divine Mountain, and it is ready to be established, so maybe things will be a little different for me, and I won’t be suppressed so much. After I secure myself in the third heaven, I should establish the Divine Mountain.’

’I should also spend time creating the Freedom Supreme Metac, its Divine Metacs, and more Supreme Metacs. This conversion of Divine Metacs to auxiliary abilities has crippled their power. At this rate, only Supreme Metacs are worth using.’

After he put divine crystals into the Supreme Metac and turned it into a star, he advanced into a Dao Lord, and his Metacs also became abilities. So he wasn’t the only one who underwent a transformation. Even the way the surface area of his Domain is transformed into power in the third heaven has also changed.

Regarding the changes to his Metacs, he is no stranger to abilities in Supreme Metacs, as Fenrir had them. However, he is completely new to the differentiation between 3-D abilities and 2-D abilities.

At rank 9, there wasn’t much difference between rank 9 and rank 8 Divine Metacs when he was using them for power. They were both enhanced by the Supreme Metac, so the difference between them was very little.

But now that he had become a Dao Lord, there is no such thing as enhancement by the Supreme Metac anymore. The divine crystal can only work with the 3-dimensional volume of the Supreme Metac, so it can only work with the ability that came packaged into the Supreme Metac.

Because of this, the rank 9 Divine Metac/Ability has become the Supreme Metac, thereby utilizing all of the 3-dimensional space within the Supreme Metac for power. This is why it is the main divine ability.

On the other hand, the rank 8, rank 7, and rank 6 Divine Metacs have lost the enhancement of the Supreme Metac. They can’t even be activated at all because they are 2-dimensional units of power and don’t work well with his new 3-dimensional attributes of Divine Strength, Divine Speed, and the rest.

As it stands, the rank 8, rank 7, and rank 6 Divine Metacs need to be converted into 3-dimensional power before they can be utilized for power. This is a non-negotiable repercussion of becoming a Dao Lord.

’The rank 8, rank 7, and rank 6 Divine Metacs haven’t become useless. They can still be used by my avatars. I can also transform them into their Supreme Metac counterparts with some effort.’

’If push comes to shove, I can use the spark of power to forcefully activate them. But their power will be abysmal compared to the main divine ability.’

Right now, with the efficiency of his conversion rate of 1%, he can barely produce (Volume of Supreme Metac)9^3 × (Conversion Efficiency)1%, which is 7.29 units of divine power with his main ability.

If he dares to use his rank 8 auxiliary ability, the power output will be (Area of Supreme Metac)8 × (Conversion Efficiency)1%, which is 0.08 units of divine power. The difference is a massive 91 times.

Clearly, using auxiliary abilities as a Dao Lord is not efficient at all. This is a big problem for him because the Rewind Metac is a 2-D unit of power.

He was thinking about this problem and how to solve it when he finally arrived at the third heaven. What he saw was a world of light without a sun or any visible sources of light.

’Then again, with the kind of eyes I have, there is no such thing as normal darkness. Everywhere is daytime to me because I don’t need a source of light to see.’

He was standing on a fragmented piece of land. Everywhere he looked, the ground had been cracked up, and there were large gaps between them.

The ground itself was white, so the cracks made it look like he was standing on cracked eggshells. The cracked landmasses were floating around in the void like cracked eggshells floating across the surface of water.
