THE GOD EATER

”Huh? What did you say?’ Loki asked with a sinking heart.

The guardian smirked and said, ”You heard me. I want you to father a child for my race and god king.”

”Don’t be so surprised. I am not making this request out of hatred for you, interest in you, or just to bother you. This is the main reason this domain was conquered.”

”We conquered this domain and many more like it mainly to convert it into a breeding ground for my race, thereby strengthening our pantheon. You won’t be the first to experience the privilege of birthing a child for us, but you will be the first one in this domain. You’re also one of the best with the highest potential.”

”Someone like you with ten godheads and immense potential has already made conquering this domain more than worth it. Don’t worry, this experience will be an unprecedented honor for you.”

For a while, Loki struggled to find words. Everything the guardian was saying was an assault on his senses that he had never considered possible.

Eventually, when he found something to say, he said, ”If I had a hundred guesses, I couldn’t have guessed this.”

In response, the guardian shrugged and said, ”That’s just the wonder of the universe. Everywhere you go, you find new things. One moment, you have just become a demigod. The next moment, you’re being asked to birth a child. It happens.”

”I have to ask, though,” Loki began carefully. ”What do you want me to do exactly? Will I be the father who provides genetic material or the mother who gestates the child?”

The guardian nodded as they said, ”Hmm. Good question.”

”You have switched to the Metac cultivation system, or as we call it, the divine cultivation system, so most of your power is in your Metac, not in your body, soul, etc. Because of this, you only need to be the father.”

Then they chuckled as they said, ”Isn’t that good?”

Without waiting for his reply, they said, ”If you were like the ancient cultivators whose existence had fused too deeply with their power, you would have to become a mother. That would have been inefficient and would have surely led to your death in the process.”

Loki also chuckled, but he did so dryly as if he were being forced to, as he said, ”It seems I am lucky.”

”Yes, you are,” the guardian said with a gravely serious tone. ”You don’t know just how lucky you are.”

Gone was their jovial attitude. They had stopped chuckling and were now looking at him dead seriously. It looked like they would attack him if he made any slight slip-ups.

As they stared at him menacingly, they took out a black ball. This black ball was bigger than the guardian’s hand.

The black ball looked like an egg. But unlike an egg, which should be still, this black ball was pulsating like a heart, so it was clearly alive.

Loki could even hear the heartbeat clearly. In the silence between them, the heartbeat was as loud as a war drum.

The guardian held the black egg in their left hand while they held their black sphere in their right hand, ready to stab him with it. It made a terrifying scene. Even without the Danger Sense Metac, Loki knew that he was in danger.

While holding the black egg, the guardian said, ”This is your future son. We’ve done all the gestation needed. We only need your seed.”

”Now, I know that you might be unwilling. So I’ll give you two options. We can do this the easy way, where you will lose a little energy and walk away with your life intact, or I can kill you and use your corpse as the seed.”

After encouraging him so much, they asked, ”What is your choice?”

Without thinking about the two choices, Loki said, ”Tell me what I need to do, and I’ll do it.”

”Excellent,” the guardian said with a smile. ”Just place your hand against the egg. No matter what happens, don’t take your hand away.”

”It also goes without saying that you must not destroy the egg. If you do, you won’t like what I’ll do to you.”

Loki nodded in understanding as he walked over to the egg and placed his hand on it. As soon as his hand touched the black egg, it grew a root that pierced into the palm of his hand.

The root was so sharp that it broke the defense of his body without any struggle and surged into his body through the wound. The root was black like an egg. It went up his arm into his shoulder and down into his chest where his Supreme Metac was.

His body is a vessel, and like a vessel, it is mostly empty. The source of his power and life is in the space within his chest.

On the surface, the space is small. But it only looks small as it contains his Cave Heaven. His Divine Spark, Divine Mountain, and Supreme Metac are all in this space, so by gaining access to this space, the black root had gained access to all of these things.

In the Cave Heaven, the golden spark took the center of the space. Ten golden orbs revolved around the golden spark, with one of the golden orbs, the one closest to the golden spark, being bigger and constantly exploding with the power of a true star.

Beneath all of these, right below the golden spark, was a giant mountain. This was the arrangement of his Divine Spark, Godheads, Devouring Supreme Metac, and Divine Mountain.

After entering his Cave Heaven, the root split into ten little black roots. The ten roots picked a godhead and approached it.

When they met the godhead, the roots pierced them the way a knife cuts through butter. This time, Loki felt pain. It wasn’t a tiny amount of pain either. It was a great amount of pain that made him want to fight and resist.
