Strongest Hammer God

Chapter 1091: Slow Transformation

Fierce Breaker was gone.

Kyle was back.

Did Fierce Breaker die?

No, he simply changed into someone else. The events that took place also happened on Earth, but on a different scale and level. The cells that comprised humans on Earth constantly multiplied. Old ones died, while new ones took their place.

People changed as they grew older. Aside from general appearance, a personʼs mentality sometimes underwent such drastic changes over decades that they were nothing like their self from decades ago. Values, goals, ideologies, beliefs, and emotions changed, turning a person into a completely different person.

And yet, they were still themselves.

Fierce Breaker had been influenced by Kyleʼs memories and feelings, and over a long period of time, he had assumed more and more of Kyleʼs traits.

ʼJust as the Will of Death has predicted,ʼ Kyle thought. ʼA version of me has returned. I am almost identical to how I was when I entered the Gate of Death.ʼ

ʼSubjectively, I have died. Objectively, I am alive. I am Kyle. I have all of his memories, wants, needs, desires, beliefs, and so on. I even have all of my memories from the Gate of Death. If I were not Kyle, how could I remember things that only I have experienced?ʼ

Kyle looked at his hammer.
Himself.

Fierce Breaker and the hammer had both undergone Fusion, which meant all of their Aspects of Power had fused into one. Afterward, their existences had become copies of each other. Their fluctuations and logic had become identical. Energy could easily combine with other Energies, and since their Energies were identical, they could also easily combine.

The hammer and the body had become one, turning two distinct parts into one whole.

ʼFreedom and control,ʼ Kyle thought. ʼWhen you master both of them, you can make people do things willingly that you want them to do, up to a certain degree.ʼ

ʼWhen the Gate of Death appeared, I didnʼt want to enter, but after talking to the Will of Death, it didnʼt seem as bad anymore. Now, I am happy that I have entered. I have learned things I couldnʼt have learned under any other circumstances. I have grown in ways that nobody else can.ʼ

Kyleʼs mind went through what had happened in the Gate of Death to make sense of how things had developed to this point.

ʼI died, but my Elemental was still alive. The part of my mind that was assigned to the Elemental survived, and when I comprehended the Major Law of Death, Death didnʼt influence my Elemental anymore. After all, it also knew the Major Law of Death at that point.ʼ

ʼMy memories were stored inside its mind. However, Iʼve also finished my Law of Hammer, which meant that my Elemental turned into a perfect hammer. This froze my mind in place since the Energy inside a hammer is as solid as it gets. Thinking and living require Energy to transform and change, which is not what a hammer is supposed to do.ʼ

ʼThis created a frozen copy of myself, and I would have remained in this state for all of eternity if Fierce Breaker hadnʼt turned into me.ʼ

Kyle looked at his surroundings, the Law Well for Immortal Earth.

ʼItʼs kinda funny how my state is similar to the state of Immortal Earth,ʼ he thought with a short chuckle. ʼThe Immortal Earth can simulate life by using perception as a proxy.ʼ

Kyle threw his hammer up before catching it again. ʼThe same thing is happening here. As soon as I lose the connection with my hammer, it stops living and returns to a frozen state. When my physical body isnʼt present, it returns to its old state.ʼ

ʼLuckily, as long as itʼs within my perception, we are still connected. I donʼt need to keep physical contact with it, but retaining physical contact also counts as being connected.ʼ

Kyleʼs brows furrowed. ʼWas this Swamp Dragonʼs plan all along? Well, I donʼt think this was his plan from the very beginning, but this was most likely what he wanted to happen when his initial plan failed.ʼ

Kyle remembered his conversation with Sebastian. ʼHe didnʼt want to tell me about Swamp Dragonʼs plan since he believed that I wouldnʼt have followed, and heʼs right about that. I would have never agreed to something like this.ʼ

Kyle sighed. ʼSwamp Dragon most likely told Sebastian that I would return some time in the future, which was why he agreed to the plan.ʼ

ʼBut what now, Swamp Dragon? If youʼve planned my resurrection, have you also planned your own death? You should know that thereʼs no way that I would leave you alive, right?ʼ

Kyle juggled his hammer a bit as he tried to think about his next course of action.

ʼI have the power to kill Swamp Dragon. Fierce Breaker had an easy way to contact him. Heʼs also much weaker than I am. I could kill him right now.ʼ

Kyle narrowed his eyes. ʼBut itʼs not that easy. As much as I hate to admit it, Swamp Dragonʼs plan got me into the best position I could be in. Fierce Breakerʼs transformation into Kyle was so slow and subtle that the Overseer didnʼt even notice it. Itʼs like a guy slowly growing a long beard. The other people have gotten so used to it that they feel like the guy had always had a beard. Yet, when the guy suddenly shaves his beard, the others feel like thereʼs a completely new person in front of them, even though they had initially met the guy without the beard.ʼ

ʼShe doesnʼt realize that I no longer Fierce Breaker, and as long as she doesnʼt start questioning my identity, she also wonʼt notice. Fierce Breakerʼs subdued aura has also changed into my bright aura. If she were to evaluate me objectively, she would notice that I am turning into a genuine threat to her.ʼ

ʼYet, she has seen my transformation. Her first impression of me is still there. She met me when I was just a slightly talented Seeker, and she will keep believing that Iʼm a slightly talented Seeker as long as I donʼt give her an incentive to reevaluate me.ʼ

ʼSwamp Dragon managed to hide me right beneath her nose. In the past, she would have killed me as soon as she saw me, but now, sheʼs ignoring me.ʼ

ʼIf I suddenly kill Swamp Dragon, she will know that something is up. Fierce Breaker wouldnʼt have done something like that. She would reevaluate me and realize that I am slowly reaching a level of power that allows me to threaten her.ʼ

ʼI really wanna kill Shit Snake for everything he has done. I want to make him Dragone!ʼ

ʼFor just a moment, Kyle mentally patted himself on the back for coming up with these amazing puns.ʼ

ʼBut I canʼt do that right now. This is my best opportunity to increase my power.ʼ

ʼSpeaking of, the powers I have gained from this event are crazy!ʼ
