Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1843: Chapter 1842: An Issue That Cannot Be Ignored

“I’m sorry, I’ll leave now.” An Hao turned and apologized to the person behind her, then dismissed her earlier thoughts and continued on her own path.

However, when that beam of light once again struck An Hao’s eyes, she could no longer ignore the issue.

She remembered stories Qin Jian had told her in the past, recalled the reflective mirror on sniper rifles, and thought of the lens of binoculars.

In this age of peace, surely no one would be wandering around the streets with a sniper rifle, right?

That target would be too large and obvious.

In An Hao’s mind, she believed someone was observing her through the lens of binoculars.

Really?

She questioned her thoughts and immediately answered herself—nothing is impossible.

So she began to search for the source of the light.

She changed direction, trying to capture the beam of light once more with her eyes.

Suddenly, she felt that piercing brightness.

An Hao held her position without moving, tilted her head slightly, opened her eyes, and fixed her gaze on an old tea house about a hundred meters away.

The windows of this tea house were made of glass.

And the source of light was coming from within that glass.

Without hesitation, An Hao headed towards the tea house, determined to verify her suspicions.

Tea house, inside a refined room.

A person was observing through binoculars; the person she was observing had already walked far away. She was about to put away the binoculars when she accidentally spotted a woman squinting in her direction.

Her cheeks and eyes were clearly visible in the viewfinder, as if seeking something.

Next, her expression changed to one of realization, then she quickly walked towards the tea house.

The observer’s heart sank, hurriedly retracting her binoculars.

Only then did she realize her chosen position was against the light. The lens of the binoculars had reflected, revealing her location.

“Ha, too much bad luck,” she scoffed at herself, hastily gathered everything from the table into her small bag, donned a hat, and quickly headed out of the room.

She descended from the upper level and went to the counter to settle the bill, coincidentally encountering An Hao as she entered.

“Here for tea, ma’am? How many of you?” The young worker at the tea house eagerly welcomed new customers.

An Hao ignored the worker’s words, directly asking, “On the second floor, which room has the best view of the street scenery?”

“I’ll take you up,” the worker diligently offered, but then the man by the counter said, “Hey, is your brain not working? Someone’s drinking tea in that room!”

“Oh, sorry, I can’t take you up,” the young worker paused.

“The tea drinker is my friend. I’m here to find her. Please, lead the way.” An Hao smiled.

“Alright, no problem!” The young worker guided An Hao up.

“Hmph, minding someone else’s business!” The observer grumbled quietly, hurriedly paid the bill, and quickly left the tea house.

An Hao went upstairs to find the room empty.

It seemed the person had left, and without results, An Hao felt a bit anxious.

If in this vast world, among the countless crowds, there was someone always lurking in the shadows, observing you from afar through binoculars.
