Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1815: Chapter 1814: Zhuazhou

Twenty minutes later, the car arrived at the destination.

The man named An Hui had dozed off in a daze.

”Get out!” Qin Jian opened the car door from the other side.

A gust of cold wind blew in, and An Hui shivered, opening his eyes.

Qin Jian, annoyed by his dawdling, yanked him out of the car: ”Let’s go! This place is very safe!”

An Hui rubbed his eyes and stretched lazily. When he saw the big letters on the sign of the building in front of him, his legs went weak: ”Nancheng City Public Security Bureau! Why did you bring me here?”

Without a word, Qin Jian grabbed his collar and dragged him inside, shouting to the outside: ”Officer! I caught someone fighting on the street and gambling! You can interrogate him.”

”Hey! Hey...” An Hui yelled a few times, but was caught and taken away by the police on duty.

Qin Jian returned to the car with a smirk.

”What a disgrace to the An Family!” An Hao snorted coldly.

”Do you know him?” Qin Jian started the car.

”I don’t know him. But we both have the surname An!”

”There are many people with the surname An. You can’t expect everyone to be good.” Qin Jian smiled, stepping on the gas.

.........

Days flew by quickly.

As the autumn wind blew and the leaves turned yellow, falling to the ground and mixing into the earth, Ning Chenyang and Ning Chenguang celebrated their first birthday.

It was a big day, deserving a proper celebration.

Early that morning, Zhang Yun was up, skipping breakfast, preparing a stack of items and laying them out on the living room table.

Yes, according to local custom, a child has a ”Zhuazhou” ceremony on their first birthday.

It’s said to predict the child’s future temperament and career.

”Wow, you got so many things ready?” Ning Yibin said as he came out after washing up, seeing Zhang Yun had covered the table with a pile of items, ”Aren’t you afraid the kid will be overwhelmed and grab everything?”

”That’s just perfect! It would mean my precious grandson is versatile and has many future career options!” Zhang Yun said cheerfully.

Ning Yibin shook his head and laughed: ”You’re just fooling yourself!”

”I like it that way!” Zhang Yun said, satisfied with her arrangement, ”I’ll go call the parents down!”

”Oh, you! It’s Sunday, let them sleep in a bit longer!”

”It’s fine. They can have their nap after the Zhuazhou!” Zhang Yun said as she took action.

Qin Jian and An Hao were already awake but didn’t want to get out of bed because it was cold, as they cuddled with their little ones playing.

Knock, knock, knock!

After three knocks, Zhang Yun’s voice came from outside the room: ”Qin Jian, An Hao, get up with the kids! Today is the Zhuazhou!”

Only then did An Hao remember that the kid’s first birthday required the Zhuazhou.

”Okay! Mom, we’re getting up now.”

”What do you think the kids will grab?” Qin Jian sat up, grabbed the clothes from the bedside and put them on.

”How would I know? But this is just a ceremony anyway. Do you really expect it to predict the child’s future?” An Hao said while dressing.

”I’m a bit curious though.” Qin Jian was still somewhat expectant.

”No worries. Get your precious son dressed up! You’ll soon find out.”

Qin Jian came down from upstairs holding the child and saw his parents already fully dressed. The table in front of them was set with items for the Zhuazhou.
