The Blood Covenant was a very peculiar ability. Even at Level 1, its user could use blood to bind certain beings.

If the individual, who was sworn an oath with Blood Essence as the source, broke the oath, it could result in anything from injuries to a lifetime of halted cultivation.

And this was only when Blood Covenant was just at Level 1.

According to the system’s description, at Level 3 or even Level 4, the Blood Covenant could be even more peculiar and its user could perform in-depth control using blood as a medium.

*Ha…* Exhaling a long, deep breath, an expression of anticipation appeared on Yu Zi Yu’s face.

He liked peculiar abilities the most. The more peculiar the ability was, the scarier it could be. Furthermore, he faintly felt that this Blood Covenant was essential for him. For this reason, a rare look of joy showed up on his face.

Yu Zi Yu was struck with an idea.

“System, I want to strengthen the ability–Blood Covenant.”

Followed by a system prompt, a crisp electronic voice echoed in Yu Zi Yu’s ears.

“Yes.”

Yu Zi Yu readily agreed, not caring about the amount of Evolution Points he had left. Though he had used up most of his Evolution Points to upgrade his branches, he still had over 10,000 left. These 10,000 or so Evolution Points were more than enough to raise the Blood Covenant to Level 3 or even Level 4.

Just at this moment…

With a deafening boom, an inexplicable force began to circulate in his mind.

Vaguely, a strange feeling welled up within Yu Zi Yu’s mind.

“It seems pretty good.” Grinning, Yu Zi Yu continued with no hesitation.

After a moment…

“Yes.” As he confirmed once again, he felt a much more potent force coursing through his mind. It was obscure and difficult to understand, and exuded an extremely bizarre and strange feeling.

At this point, if one could see Yu Zi Yu’s status screen, he or she would definitely discover that the description of the ability–Blood Covenant was displayed in blood-red color.

Blood Covenant (Level 3) – Originating from the ancient Blood lineage, this terrifying ability can create contracts using blood as a medium to bind others. However, what’s even more terrifying is that through the Blood Covenant, you can completely enslave others, from their bodies to their souls, creating entities akin to familiars.

“Servants…” mumbling, the depths of Yu Zi Yu’s eyes flickered incessantly. He was not unfamiliar with the concept of familiars of the Vampire Clan. They were exclusive servants that only the Vampire Clan could possess.

From the moment they consumed the blood of a Vampire, they became familiar of that Vampire. From then on, they had to obey absolutely regardless of their own will, provided that the Vampire Master gave a clear order.

Their duty was to provide the blood to their Master. And as their blood was drunk more and more, the servants would gradually lose their self-consciousness, eventually becoming mere puppet-like entities.

This was precisely the familiars of the Vampire Clan. And now, when the Blood Covenant had been upgraded to Level 3, Yu Zi Yu could surprisingly create familiars, a type of true servants who would obey him unconditionally.

Yu Zi Yu became quite excited at the thought of this.

Moreover, Yu Zi Yu’s familiars might have something unique.

However, the specifics of their uniqueness remained a mystery to Yu Zi Yu for now.

But the subtle feeling told him that these familiars would bring him a massive surprise.

Nonetheless, Yu Zi Yu had no desire in particular to use the Blood Covenant to control Mutant Beasts, especially turning them into his familiars.

While he was not sure if it was just a feeling or something else, Yu Zi Yu had a feeling that it might not be a good idea to make familiars out of Mutant Beasts.

Every familiar slot was precious to him.

However, most Mutant Beasts already obeyed his commands.

Instead of wasting these valuable slots on them, he considered reserving them for some of the Human prodigies.

Human prodigies had access to abundant resources. If he could enslave them completely, the benefits to Yu Zi Yu were self-evident.

Of course, one thing Yu Zi Yu considered was whether his familiars would slowly lose their intelligence and eventually become puppet-like entities like the familiars of Vampires.

If they did, he would not want to turn his close Mutant Beasts into familiars, even if it significantly increased their power.

“As expected, my first familiar should be a Human prodigy.” Thinking about this, Yu Zi Yu’s eyes slightly narrowed. However, after a moment, as if thinking of something, the corner of Yu Zi Yu’s lips rose into a slight smile.

“Familiar sounds so inappropriate, since they are my servants, the name ‘Apostle’ is better.”

Apostle – A believer sent by the Lord with authority and power to preach the gospel, gifted to teach the truth and build up the faith.

Yu Zi Yu gave the title ‘Apostle’ to his servants for an apparent reason. They would walk the earth on his behalf, bearing the name of the ‘Divine Tree,’ and their presence would send tremors throughout the world. These slaves would belong to him alone, and would become another powerful force in his grasp – the Apostle Order.

…

Late at night…

At the summit of the Himalayan Mountains, a tree was burning in blazing flames.

Right at this moment, a voice echoed through the night sky.

“Qing Gang, come and see me quickly.”

Shortly after Yu Zi Yu gave the order…

*Boom, boom, boom…* The ground started quaking fiercely. At the same time, a figure resembling a sculpture slowly emerged from the earth.

“Greetings, Master.” Kneeling on one knee, Qing Gang had a serious and cautious expression.

“The delegation of ASEAN and China will be meeting at the border soon. I need you to lead a large army to suppress them. And remember not to reveal our identity as ‘the Misty Mountains’.”

As he said this, Yu Zi Yu’s eyes narrowed, and he added, “This time, try not to leave a single survivor and create a scene as if a beast tide is attacking.”

“Yes, Master.” A grin appeared on Qing Gang’s face, understanding Yu Zi Yu’s intent.

He had heard of ASEAN.

He also knew that the Chinese government had not given up on destroying the Misty Mountains, so how could he sit idly by and let China and ASEAN join forces?

However, just as Qing Gang was about to leave, a calm voice resounded in his mind, “If possible, pay attention to the delegation and see if there are any Human prodigies among them. If you find one, bring them back to me.”

“Uh…”

Qing Gang was slightly taken aback, but without a moment of hesitation, he readily agreed, “Understood, Master. But do you only want Human prodigies?”

“Yes, I need him for some experiments,” Yu Zi Yu explained, a slight smirk appearing on his lips.

[If Qing Er’s information is accurate, there is going to be a remarkable Human prodigy among the delegation of the Alliance of Southeast Asian Nations.]

However, he was not sure if Qing Gang would be able to find them.

This was also a small test for Qing Gang.

While Qing Gang was not lacking in loyalty, Yu Zi Yu wanted to evaluate his ability to get things done.

He wanted to see how well Qing Gang could handle tasks compared to Qing Er, Nine Tails, Bull Demon, and Sarcosuchus.
