*Boom, boom, boom…* The ground shook incessantly, giving the impression as though the very earth was crying.

At this moment, nearly half of the ruins had turned into an enormous whirlpool.

And at the edge of this whirlpool, waves of earth rose slowly into the air like a tornado.

“Found it!?” asked Qing Gang, looking at the nearby Leng Feng.

“No.” Leng Feng shook his head as his complexion turned a little pale.

While he might not like to admit it, deep down, he seemed to have reached an unfortunate conclusion.

At this moment, after giving Leng Feng a deep look, Qing Gang heaved a long breath before carefully advising, “Leng Feng, we know that somethings can’t be changed. All you can do is face the present.”

…

Qing Gang’s advice shook Leng Feng to the core, and his complexion grew even paler.

His fears were coming true.

This part of the city had been completely flipped over, but he had failed to find a single body. Nothing more needed to be said.

Even a high-yield nuclear missile, even if detonated in the upper atmosphere, would generate temperatures sufficient to vaporize everything. He could see traces of everything melting everywhere in these ruins.

One could imagine the fate of the rest from this.

[But…but…] As if he had recalled something, the man’s eyes which typically remained cold and indifferent slightly moistened at the corners.

“She is my sister. My only family!”

With a trembling voice, Leng Feng slowly turned around, revealing an expression of deep helplessness.

*Ha* Qing Gang sighed, took out a jar of alcohol that he had prepared earlier, and stated, “If you want to cry, then cry.”

While speaking, Qing Gang flung the jar toward Leng Feng.

“I…” Leng Feng hesitated for a moment but ultimately caught the flask.

“Gulp, gulp…” His face grew even paler as he guzzled down the alcohol.

It felt like knives as it passed down his throat, nonetheless, it failed to overpower the deep loneliness that enveloped Leng Feng.

Right at that moment…

*Boom, boom, boom…*

Peals of thunder reverberated through the sky as dark clouds suddenly blanketed the clear sky.

After a while, with a whoosh, a torrential rain fell from the sky as if Heaven itself was collapsing.

In the midst of this heavy downpour, Qing Gang raised the bottle in his hand and shouted loudly, “Leng Feng, you must understand that natural disasters can’t be prevented. But man-made disasters, in the end, are caused by people.”

Listening to Qing Gang’s words, Leng Feng’s figures suddenly jolted. Then, as if he remembered something, his face drastically changed. “Man-made… disaster…”

As these two words escaped his lips, the temperature of the air dropped by several degrees.

At this moment, looking at the figure in the downpour, which was vaguely exuding his killing intent, the corner of Qing Gang’s lips subtly rose into an imperceptible smile. Then, he reminded, pretending to be unintentional, “Although Lord Divine Tree has punished the mastermind behind it, would such a big shot really be dead just like that? I don’t believe it, for a second.”

At this point, Qing Gang let out a sigh and added, “Ha, but it can’t be helped. In order to deal with Lord Divine Tree, how could those guys hold back? In some way, Lord Divine Tree also shares some responsibility.”

Quietly listening, Leng Feng’s face grew even colder as he allowed the raindrops to fall on his face. Then, after a moment, a cold voice suddenly echoed in the air, “Should I have listened to you back then?”

“Listen to me!?” slightly stunned, Qing Gang also asked in a bewildered tone.

“Yes, I should have listened to you, made up my mind earlier. My hesitation is the main reason why Leng Yu is dead today.”

As he spoke, Leng Feng also laughed at himself. “But it’s really ironic. Our hometown didn’t really perish under the onslaught of the beasts but ultimately vanished at the hands of Humans.”

Complaining in an extremely bitter tone, Leng Feng clenched his fists tightly. At the same time, a terrifying aura began to slowly emanate from him.

*Boom…*

Violent winds started howling around him, deflecting countless raindrops. His thin, solitary figure standing in the rain looked completely out of place.

“This damned nuclear…missile…” Leng Feng muttered in a low voice as the wind howling around him grew fiercer.

Faintly, a roar that sounded as if it came from ancient times echoed through the sky.

At this moment, the shadow beneath his feet seemed to have transformed into a demon, continuously expanding.

…

However, oblivious to Leng Feng, Qing Gang, and even Yu Zi Yu, in a distant city…

A petite young girl with long black hair was gazing at the starry sky, seemingly lost in thought.

“Leng Yu, daydreaming again?” A call interrupted the young girl’s reverie and brought her back to reality.

“Sister Nan Nan…” Casting a resentful glance at the girl who had just approached, Leng Yu pouted her lips in exasperation.

“You, little rascal, what are you thinking about again?” the young girl called Nan Nan asked with great interest, knocking on Leng Yu’s head very skillfully.

“Hehe, I’m just thinking about my big brother.”

“Big brother?”

Shaking her head slightly, Nan Nan said, helplessly and half-jokingly, “It’s been several months already, and that big brother of yours you’ve been thinking just about every day still hasn’t come to see you.”

“See me?” Pouting, Leng Yu playfully stuck out her tongue and proudly said, “Sister Ling Er said that my big brother is practicing in a mysterious place. When he’s done practicing, he’ll come to pick me up.”

“Uh…” Slightly surprised, Nan Nan looked at Leng Yu’s sincere expression and sighed inwardly.

“Will he really come?” To her knowledge, Leng Feng, Leng Yu’s elder brother, had entered the Misty Mountains at the beginning of the resurgence of Spiritual Energy and had not returned since then. She believed that if he were to return, that would be truly a miracle

After all, the Misty Mountains were now one of China’s notorious Forbidden Zones, and were home to a terrifying Tree Monster. It could be said that the survival rate of Leng Yu’s brother was almost close to zero.

However, seeing Leng Yu’s hopeful expression, Nan Nan was unwilling to shatter the beautiful lie concocted by Miss Ling Er.

It should be brought to notice that Ning Nan Er was a powerful Superhuman under Miss Ling Er, who was also known as the Flame Princess, one of China’s top ten geniuses. She was among the earliest followers of the Flame Princess.

Initially, the group that followed the Flame Princess consisted of only five members, but it had now expanded to a hundred people. More importantly, these one hundred individuals were all women with good looks and stunning figures. Furthermore, each of them possessed extraordinary Innate Talents.

They represented the public face of the Flame Princess and were the most dominant force under her command.
