Deep in the heart of North Canyon…

*Thud, thud, thud…* Followed by heavy footsteps, two figures slowly emerged from the curtain of rain.

After a moment, looking at a screen of light supported by a root as thick as a bowl, Leng Feng’s eyes narrowed slightly. Because under this screen of light, deformed young beasts were neatly arranged in the center of the North Canyon.

“Auris, Lupin, Slytherin…” calling out their names, Leng Feng hurried to the center of the square.

Meanwhile, they seemed to have heard Leng Feng’s voice as a glimmer of delight flashed in the depths of the eyes of these deformed young beasts. But the next moment, these dozens of deformed young beasts hesitantly glanced at a nearby root that stood above the ground like a snake, becoming unusually restless.

“Go on.” Yu Zi Yu helplessly shook his head, but at the same time he also found it amusing. He did not expect the bond between Leng Feng and these deformed young beasts to be so deep.

However, it was also a good thing.

At this moment, if one were to look toward Leng Feng, he or she would find Leng Feng on the ground, pushed down by these dozens of deformed young beasts, who were constantly sticking out their tongues and licking him affectionately.

“Alright, alright… settle down now, will you.” Squeezing out a smile onto his face, Leng Feng continuously stroked these young beasts. He had watched them grow up, and taken good care of them. He had long considered these deformed young beasts as a part of his life.

And now, his sister’s disappearance had further deepened his feelings for these deformed young beasts.

However, it remains unknown whether these deformed young beasts would be able to fill the void in Leng Feng’s heart, or if Leng Feng truly regarded them as family.

…

Shortly after this, Leng Feng got back up, surged his Spiritual Energy, shaking off the dust on their bodies before looking toward a nearby root.

“Divine Tree.” Calling out, Leng Feng waved his hand and brought dozens of deformed young beasts to Yu Zi Yu.

“Some things are better left unsaid.” Looking at the forced smile on Leng Feng’s face, Yu Zi Yu also took the initiative to change the subject and stated, “This time, I mainly came for these young beasts.”

“What about them?” Touching the Azure Wolf with two heads beside him, Leng Feng was lost in thoughts.

[If I’m right, some of these little fellows must have caught the Divine Tree’s attention. But that’s also good. With their talents, if they could receive the Divine Tree’s guidance, their future prospects would be limitless.]

Others may not have an idea, but how could he not? The recently born Lupin, the Azure Wolf with two heads, had already awakened two Elemental Talents.

A fusion of fire and ice.

Even though, at the moment, it had its tongues and panting, and both its heads were thoroughly withered, like frostbitten eggplants, it was evident how good Lupin’s talents were.

As for Auris, the little Monkey with multiple ears, it only needed to perk up its ears a little to capture even the slightest movement. It could even detect slight movements several hundred meters away.

Such acute perception was quite rare, even in Tier-0, not to mention that Auris was still not at Tier-0.

Thinking to this point, Leng Feng stated straightforwardly, “Thank you very much for your kindness, I express gratitude on behalf of these little fellows.”

“Mhmm.” Nodding slightly, Yu Zi Yu’s gaze shifted to the nearby Leng Feng.

“What about you? What do you plan to do now?” Yu Zi Yu inquired, a rare event, narrowing his eyes.

“I…” Slightly stunned, Leng Feng could not help but recall the heartfelt words Qing Gang had spoken to him in the rain.

‘The Human world is too full of intrigue. Compared to that, I prefer the life I have now. For you, it seems like the seed of hatred has taken root in your heart. But I also don’t recommend you go now. After all, you’re too weak at the moment. Not to mention, seeking revenge, I doubt you can even enter the capital. So, instead of seeking revenge now, it’s better to follow the Divine Tree and hone your skills. Maybe someday, you can lead a wave of thousands of beasts straight to the capital. What do you think? Wouldn’t that be exciting?’

Leng Feng clenched his fists tightly, caught in a struggle.

[Do I really want to follow the Divine Tree?]

And just as it seemed he was hesitating, whines beside him seemed to sense Leng Feng’s dilemma.

*EE-ee,eek-eek…* Whining in a low voice, Auris, the little monkey with multiple ears, began to rub Leng Feng’s arm.

“You’re the cleverest one.” Helplessly sighing, the corner of Leng Feng’s lips curved into a cold smile. He did not want to. He really did not want to betray the Humans.

But now, he wanted to personally visit certain people and ask, ‘Did you ever consider Linhai Town when you launched the nuclear weapons? Did you consider the lives of its residents? Did you consider the despair of my sister?’

Thinking to this point, determination flickered deep in Leng Feng’s eyes.

With a thump, he was kneeling on the ground.

“I want to follow the Divine Tree, and I hope the Divine Tree won’t reject me.” Stating in a determined voice, the coldest and the most icy youth had already lowered his head in front of Yu Zi Yu.

“Good, good!” Yu Zi Yu broke into a hearty laughter, a little excited.

Finally, Leng Feng had decided to follow him. Compared to others, Yu Zi Yu had already gained an insight to Leng Feng’s personality after long-term interaction. He would never go back on his word once he had decided something. Once he chose to follow, even if he had to grit his teeth, he would pledge undying loyalty. He would not resort on any tricks, nor anything else, because he was an incredible prodigy of Humanity.

In terms of Innate Talent alone, he did not lose out to other Human prodigies, not even the slightest. As such, he had his own pride and stubbornness. People like him very rarely pledged allegiance to others. But once they did, they were like shadows, they would accompany them like a shadow from then on.

Thinking of this, Yu Zi Yu shot a deep glance at Leng Feng and promised, “Someday, if you have a request of me, as long as it doesn’t harm the Misty Mountains and my interests, I will definitely agree.”

Upon hearing this, Leng Feng was shocked, an expression of disbelief even crossed his face. He could not believe the fact that the Divine Tree had made such a promise to him. After all, the Divine Tree’s promise was not something an ordinary person could obtain.

A terrifying entity like him was an existence that surpassed common understanding.

Such a commitment from such an entity was quite valuable.

Yet now, the Divine Tree had granted him such a valuable promise.

As these thoughts swirled in his mind, Leng Feng could not say anything.

However, if one paid closer attention to him, he or she would certainly notice that Leng Feng had buried his head even deeper. His shadow on the ground resembled a knight, kneeling on the ground as if taking an oath.
