“This guy even manage to hurt you?”  Familiar with his own brethren, Bull Demon was well aware of Golden Ant’s capabilities. Aside from his formidable strength and talent, his keen intuition in battle alone was beyond the reach of ordinary Mutant Beasts.

“This guy is really fast, and can control wind. If I’m not mistaken, it should possess a talent related to the Wind Element.” Having said this, Golden Ant turned around and glanced at Bull Demon, inquiring which he rarely does so, “Second Brother, how come you’re here?”

“Just a while ago, this little guy came to me for help, saying that you’ve met a formidable enemy.” Stating this, Bull Demon’s gaze shifted to a relatively small-sized Azure Wolf behind him.

“I see.” Nodding, the Golden Ant cast a deep gaze at the not-so-large Azure Wolf, but refrained from saying anything.

Expressing emotions was not his strong suit. Nevertheless, he remembered this Azure Wolf in his heart.

This wolf was clever and vigilant, qualities the Golden Ant appreciated.

And now, as if he remembered something, Golden Ant slowly lifted his gaze, and fixed his eyes on the heavily wounded Green Mantis not far away, its icy tone cutting through the air, “If you want to live, you’d better come with me.”

However, the response he got was the Green Mantis flapping its wings once again, making him furrowed his brow.

*Whirr, whirr…* Its wings flapped so fast that every time it flapped, it sent ripples through the air.

“Hmph!” A cold snort as thunderous as the very thunderclap reverberated through the air as the distant Bull Demon stamped his hoof on the ground hard.

In an instant, the Green Mantis felt the very earth underneath its feet quake as its entire body tumbled to the ground.

What unnerved it further was that a powerful quake coursed through the ground and into its body. In the blink of an eye, its body started trembling in an uncontrollable manner. “Apply toxin to it and take it away.”

Listening to Bull Demon’s command, a giant Azure Wolf promptly rushed over to the Mantis. It raised its claws and gently scratched the Mantis’s body.

Soon after, before the Green Mantis could react, an overwhelming paralyzing sensation enveloped its senses.

This was the toxin derived from Yu Zi Yu’s branches. It could paralyze the nerves of Mutant Beasts, robbing them of control over their bodies.

Not to mention this Mutant Mantis, even beings as robust as King Kong, would struggle against such a toxin. Yu Zi Yu deliberately bestowed this toxin upon the Giant Azure Wolves to improve their efficiency in capturing prey.

Generally speaking, unless one was a Transcendent Creature, very few Tier-0 Mutant Beasts were capable of resisting such a toxin. As for Transcendent Creatures, even if they encountered them, Bull Demon, White Tiger, and the others would not attack them recklessly.

After all, Transcendent Creatures had already undergone a qualitative transformation in strength. Even if some Mutant Beasts possessed astonishing talents, challenging such beings was a near-impossible feat.

“Perhaps only the Divine Tree could challenge Transcendent Creatures at Tier-0.” murmuring to himself, a mysterious gleam flashed in Bull Demon’s eyes.

…

Time flew by silently.

At the edge of the Misty Mountains, a dark figure slowly lifted itself. Upon closer look, it turned out to be a massive Crocodile. It looked ferocious and terrifying, and exuded an eerie and chilling aura.

“Great, they’re back.” Whispering these words, Sarcosuchus gazed at Bull Demon, White Tiger, and the others who were returning in groups from not far away. Then, he chose to turn and leave.

After having been on guard for an entire night, it was time for him to return to Spirit Lake.

Night was prime hunting time, while daytime was reserved for rest.

“Had Fourth Brother been waiting for us all this while?” White Tiger cast a glance at Sarcosuchus who was departing, and said his suspicion.

“Most likely.” Nodding in agreement, Bull Demon, also a Mutant Beast like White Tiger, naturally understood what he meant.

After pondering for a moment, he continued, “This is also for our own good. If we encounter formidable enemies, he can rush out of Misty Mountains to support us at the first moment notice.”

“Is that so?” murmuring to himself, White Tiger looked at the departing Sarcosuchus as a grin spread across his lips. Though he understood it later than the rest, he was really appreciative of this act of kindness. Thanks to Bull Demon’s guidance, he had developed a greater sense of gratitude towards Sarcosuchus.

After a while, as if realizing something, he dashed over to a Giant Azure Wolf nearby. Then, he took the Green Mantis from its mouth and, with an excited howl, dashed towards the North Canyon.

“This fellow…” Observing White Tiger’s departing figure, Bull Demon shook his head helplessly.

Upon learning about the Green Mantis’s remarkable talent, he invested quite a bit of effort, and finally managed to secure this Green Mantis from the Golden Ant.

For no other reason than just to avoid getting reprimanded from the Divine Tree.

Certainly, he was particularly afraid of the Divine Tree’s admonishment. Even hearing the words ‘Stupid Tiger’ made him shiver uncontrollably. Now, on their very first night mission, he wanted to appease the Divine Tree with this talented Green Mantis.

“I wonder where he learned these tricks from?” Helplessly, Bull Demon could not help but think of Qing Gang. [Could it be that rascal? Was he the one that taught him this?]

…

Not long after, when they returned to the North Canyon, dawn was just about to break.

*Roar!* A Tiger’s roar echoed in the distance as a white figure came bounding toward North Canyon.

“Uh…”

Watching White Tiger’s speedy approach, who was coming so fast that his run gave birth to gusts of wind, the corner of Yu Zi Yu’s mouth twitched uncontrollably.

[Why can’t this guy appreciate tranquility? Why is he roaring, and rushing…]

*Ha* A sigh escaped his lips. Yu Zi Yu, who had been left tired after using the Evolution Points to reinforce himself for most of the night, decisively flicked a branch toward the ground.

Immediately, a resounding crack reverberated through the air.

*Screech~* Following that, within Yu Zi Yu’s dumbfounded gaze, the massive White Tiger came to an abrupt halt, leaving a five-meter-long skidmark on the ground.

[This guy…] Criticizing in his heart, Yu Zi Yu couldn’t help but ask, “What got you so worked up?”

*Roar, Roar, Roar…* White Tiger roared continuously as he lifted his right paw. After a moment, a heavily wounded, barely breathing Green Mantis came into Yu Zi Yu’s view.

“Oh!?” Exclaiming in surprise, Yu Zi Yu’s eyes widened in doubt.

Race: Mutant Mantis

Rank: Tier-0 Level 8

Innate Talent: Power of the Wind – It’s able to harness the wind, which not only significantly increases its speed, but also winds the wind around its body, thus, greatly enhancing its attack power.

Abilities: Camouflage – It’s capable of blending with the surroundings, making it difficult to distinguish between what’s real and what’s fake; even its aura can be completely erased.

Blade Arm – Its arms that are more like a symbol are the most fearsome weapons.
