“Good boy, be obedient, this small sister won’t mistreat you,” Qing Er stated, a playful smile adorned her lips as she held a gleaming silver whip in her hand.

Surprisingly, the other end of this silvery lash was an enormous Chimpanzee.

Only, the gigantic Chimpanzee was staring at the nearby red-clad girl with an inescapable fear within the depths of its eyes.

[She is a witch. She is definitely a witch.]

Glancing at the silver chain that had ensnared it, the expression of despair on the giant Chimpanzee’s face deepened.

If there had been a flicker of hope to break free from the earlier air restraint, the Centipede-like silver chain inflicted a searing pain, making any escape attempt seem agonizingly futile.

On the other hand, Qing Er pursed her lips, paying little heed to the giant Chimpanzee’s plight.

She gracefully turned around and flew toward North Canyon, pulling the immense creature with her.

…

By the time Qing Er returned to North Canyon, the hour was already late. Seeing the starless sky, Qing Er nonchalantly flicked her right hand, tossing the giant Chimpanzee before Yu Zi Yu’s body.

“Master, I’ll head to sleep first,” she playfully quipped, “A girl needs her beauty sleep, it’s not good for a girl to stay up late.”

“En…” Yu Zi Yu’s expression slightly stiffened. He was tempted to ask Qing Er if, as a Soul, such concerns truly applied to her. However, he refrained from teasing her at this moment and swallowed his words back. Now was not the best time to tease her, especially when she had just helped him.

With that in mind, Yu Zi Yu’s gaze turned to the giant Chimpanzee, which sat a short distance away.

It was huge.

It was even taller than White Tiger.

Especially with its sinewy muscles that seemed to snake around its body like a Dragon, it projected a formidable presence.

“Can you comprehend my words?” Yu Zi Yu’s voice reverberated within the mist.

*Roar, Roar…* The giant Chimpanzee responded with a low growl, surveying its surroundings. Yet, after a moment, as if sensing something, its pupils suddenly constricted, fixating on a towering tree concealed in the dense fog, not far away.

For some enigmatic reason, it had a feeling that the enigmatic voice belonged to this very tree.

“It appears you have keen perception.” Yu Zi Yu chuckled as his one branch cut through the mist, swishing toward the giant Chimpanzee.

But just then…

A resounding ‘boom’ echoed through the air as the giant Chimpanzee raised its right hand, firmly grasping the branch that had ventured close.

Immediately, Yu Zi Yu felt a formidable force surging from the branch, as if the giant Chimpanzee intended to snap it like a twig.

“Haiz…” Yu Zi Yu made a sound of mild disapproval but refrained from any hasty reactions.

As a Tier-2 Transcendent, these lower-level creatures could not hope to even do harm to his branch. Besides, his branches were far from ordinary.

It seemed his thoughts were answered, for at that very moment.

*Roar…* With a sorrowful roar, the colossal Chimpanzee, who had just recovered from its struggle, suddenly felt its legs give way, causing it to collapse heavily onto the ground.

What terrified the beast even more was the strange sensation of losing control over its body entirely; it was powerless to even lift its finger.

Paralysis – a potent toxin that came as an added feature of Yu Ziy Yu’s branches.

While this poison might have minimal effects on beings of the same Tier, for a Tier-0 Mutant Beast like the giant Chimpanzee, it felt like a living nightmare. The sensation of being alive, yet utterly powerless, was simply unbearable. After all, Mutant Beasts valued strength the most, and now, while still fully conscious, it actually lost control of all of its body.

At this moment…

As if in disbelief, the giant Chimpanzee’s eyes widened.

But if one looked closely, they would notice a deep sense of shock within its gaze.

[It’s him. It’s truly him.] It realized that the formidable and dreadful presence it had perceived was indeed real. Just as it had guessed, it was a terrifying force that was difficult to resist, akin to a nightmarish demon.

“Big Fella, I’ll tell you this once, and this once only, so listen closely,” Yu Ziyu stated.

Looking at the huge Chimpanzee completely limp on the ground, Yu Zi Yu pondered his words before stating firmly, “I offer you two choices: submit to me, and I…”

Before Yu Zi Yu could finish his proposition, he was taken aback by the giant Chimpanzee’s frantic blinking.

“Uh…is this guy real?” A look of bewilderment crossed Yu Zi Yu’s face as he proactively directed a wisp of his consciousness on the giant Chimpanzee.

After a moment, intermittent but discernible sounds echoed in Yu Zi Yu’s mind.

“Sub…sub…mit…”

“Sub…mit…”

Hearing these clear words, Yu Zi Yu’s corner of lips twitched in surprise.

[Why does he have no backbone? I had prepared numerous tactics, intending to intimidate and entice you into submission. Haiz…] A torrent of disbelief surged through his mind, but Yu Zi Yu did not dwell on it.

Most Mutant Beasts were like this. When they chose to submit, there was no deception or deceit in their actions.

Yu Zi Yu had encountered countless stubborn creatures that refused to yield, no matter how hard he tried. Thus, he could only be ruthless, erasing those who resisted.

On the other hand, beasts like this giant Chimpanzee, that immediately bowed down, were akin to White Tiger.

When dealing with White Tiger, a few strikes from Yu Zi Yu’s branches had been enough to make him surrender without hesitation.

And now, this Chimpanzee was even more straightforward. Before Yu Zi Yu could finish speaking, he had already…

Yu Zi Yu sighed in his heart. Nonetheless, he extended his branch toward the giant Chimpanzee, gently touching him and withdrawing the paralyzing toxin from his body.

…

Not long after…

*Roar…* A deep roar reverberated through the air as the giant Chimpanzee, seeming somewhat inebriated, struggled back to his feet. He then thumped his chest vigorously.

But then, as if he had thought of something, the Chimpanzee resolutely strode toward Yu Zi Yu.

The Chimpanzee hopped his way, dragging his massive arms hanging down to his knees, as he got excited.

“Do you find joy in submitting to me?” Yu Zi Yu inquired with a hint of doubt.

*Roar, Roar, Roar…* Once again, low roars reverberated as the giant Chimpanzee thumped his chest thunderously, as if expressing excitement.

“Alright.” Yu Zi Yu, who understood the giant Chimpanzee’s intention, fell silent for a moment.

In this world of survival of the fittest, having the option to ‘submit’ was the greatest luxury for the creature. Furthermore, he realized that Yu Zi Yu, no, just the elusive woman in the red attire, was far beyond his ability to contend with.

For this reason, submission was his best choice.

And this, in the current Era of Transcendence, represented a cruel law – ‘Might makes right.’
