Misty Mountains!

*Boom, boom, boom…*

Accompanied by tremors, countless thick rootlets emerged from the soil one after another.

They entwined around rocks, covering them from sight.

They wound themselves around giant trees, making the forest look lusher.

In just a short while, this part of the forest had turned into an ocean of ‘vines.’

And all of this was just a fraction of Yu Zi Yu’s rootlets, and that too just from one of his sub-roots, branching out into numerous thin and long rootlets.

“They are here!?”

Through the perspective of the rootlets, Yu Zi Yu could clearly see dark figures of Storm Wolves, one after another, rushing over from a distance.

However, before they could reach this place, thick rootlets as thick as Human arms suddenly lunged out like black

*Squish*

Accompanied by crisp piercing sounds, a cold prompt also rang in Yu Zi Yu’s ears, “

…

The cold, electronic voice was music to Yu Zi Yu’s ears, bringing a faint smile on his lips.

One had to admit that this was a pretty efficient way to harvest Evolution Points.

In just a short hour, he had already obtained more than 1,000 points. And this did not take into account the continuous influx of more Mutant Beasts being brought over by Storm Wolves one by one.

Smiling, Yu Zi Yu looked at the Storm Wolves that had just put down the preys and were preparing to leave, and instructed, “Replenish your energy first.”

The moment he mentioned this…

*Aooo~, Aooo~, Aooo~…* Howling, the Storm Wolves eagerly pounced on the preys that had not long died.

However, these Storm Wolves were pretty clever. Most of them pounced on High-level Mutant Beasts.

These High-level Mutant Beasts contained abundant Spiritual Energy, especially when they had just died because their Spiritual Energy had not dissipated yet, making it easier for other Mutant Beasts to absorb.

After feasting themselves on these High-level carcasses, if they managed to absorb the Spiritual Energy successfully, their Spiritual Energy could increase by a couple hundred, and it was even possible to break through to a higher level.

Of course, far more carcasses would be dragged underground by Yu Zi Yu’s rootlets and turned into nutrients, for him to slowly absorb them.

As for beasts like Bull Demon and White Tiger, there was no need to worry about them starving. They could replenish their energy as needed during the hunt.

In addition, Yu Zi Yu also dragged a couple carcasses in a secluded underground location.

“Little White, come and dispose of them.” Hearing Yu Zi Yu’s voice, the White Snake, who was brought underground by him, looked a bit puzzled.

But in a moment, seeing the pile of Mutant Beast corpses in this underground cave, it seemed like she understood.

She opened her jaws and breathed a stream of icy-cold breath.

Consequently, the underground cave was reduced into a cave of ice in mere moments.

Despite being just born, the White Snake’s Cold Energy was truly remarkable.

However, considering the fact that she still did not have control over her Cold Energy, Yu Zi Yu decided to leave the White Snake here for the time being.

Furthermore, thanks to White Snake’s Ice Elemental Talent, this underground cave had become a natural ice cellar, ensuring that most of the food would not spoil.

The reason for hoarding food was also for rainy days. As the ruler, Yu Zi Yu needed to consider many things. For example, if Humans decided to unleash a nuclear strike upon the Misty Mountains, it would reduce these vibrant and thriving mountains into a desolate wasteland, devoid of any signs of life.

At that time, Yu Zi Yi, as a tree buried deep underground, might not have to worry about nutrients, but his Mutant Beasts would be at risk.

For this reason, Yu Zi Yu had to make preparations in advance.

At this moment, as if he thought of something, Yu Zi Yu’s gaze shifted to another underground location.

The next moment, in his sight was a man with disheveled hair. The man looked no different than a wild man. He happened to be lying on a mound of soil, working diligently.

It was none other than Qing Gang, the Human who managed to earn Yu Zi Yu’s trust through actions.

He was the only Human who knew that there was another world beneath the ground.

His current task was to design the underground city, and he was also responsible for its construction.

Now, he had been working like this for three days straight.

His daily job was to keep calculating and calculating until he found the best load-bearing capacity and the best layout.

“Qing Gang, I brought you something.”

Chuckling, Yu Zi Yu picked a Tiger leg and presented it to Qing Gang.

For a moment, Qing Gang seemed stunned, seemingly unable to react. However, after a while, when he noticed the bloody Tiger’s leg, his eyes lit up.

“Thank you, Divine Tree, thank you…”

Thanking in excitement, Qing Gang took the Tiger leg, opened his mouth, and started eating it without a moment of hesitation.

In the wilderness, where surviving was more important, rarely anyone cared about table manners.

And now, for the sake of his work, Qing Gang could care even less.

It was already a blessing that he had something to eat. Moreover, when it came to the Tiger leg rich in Spiritual Energy, it was better to eat them raw, which would make it easier to absorb Spiritual Energy.

…

After a bit of wolfing down the meat, Qing Gang wiped his mouth, and finally noticed that Yu Zi Yu’s root was still raised not far away, seemingly watching him.

“Hehe…”

Qing Gang laughed. He did not mind it at all, instead he stated loudly, “Recently, I’ve come up with a pretty good idea.”

“A pretty good idea?” Yu Zi Yu smiled, a little looking forward to it.

“Yes, but before I can put this idea into practice, I need some manpower.”

As he said this, Qing Gang reminded Yu Zi Yu, “At the edge of the Misty Mountains, there’s also a Mutant Black Chimpanzee, and Chimpanzees have always lived in groups. If we can subdue and train them…”

Before Qing Gang could finish speaking, Yu Zi Yu’s eyes lit up.

[Right, the Chimpanzee! I almost forgot about it. As a species similar to Humans, Chimpanzees are undoubtedly the best substitute for Humans. Furthermore, everything is evolving now. If these giant apes could gain a little bit of wisdom, there would be no need for me to rely on Humans. By imparting Human knowledge and technology to the Chimpanzees, I can gain a group of followers who are just as reliable as Humans, if not more.]

Thinking about this, memories from his previous life resurfaced, a movie titled ‘Rise of the Planet of the Apes.’

That movie told the story of apes gaining intelligence and competing with Humans.

[However, I don’t need these Chimpanzees to compete with Humans; I only wish for them to learn some basic Human technology, and that will be sufficient. As for dealing with the Humans, and even competing with other powerful Mutant Beasts, I can leave that task to Nine Tails, Bull Demon, and the others.]
