Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 1471: Zhang Fei Vs Shang Fengxue

*Clang... Clang...*

The sound of metals clashing with each other was heard in the training ground as they attacked each other, but Zhang Fei [5] was pushed back several steps by the force of Shang Fengxue’s attack.

Although she seemed to have the upper hand, Shang Fengxue was surprised that Zhang Fei [5] was still standing after blocking her attack, and he was only pushed back several steps, even though she had used her full strength in the previous attack.

”As I expected, your physical strength is far greater than that of cultivators at your level; otherwise, you wouldn’t have been able to block my attack.” Shang Fengxue attacked Zhang Fei [5] again and used her full strength.

Zhang Fei [5] didn’t dare underestimate Shang Fengxue’s strengthl, and he felt that her strength was superior to that of the four asura guardians, even though he had never fought Shang Dongzhu before. However, he felt that his speed was too slow compared to theirs, and all of his wives were much faster than him. ”You are too focused on your strength, and your speed is too slow.”

*Clang... Clang...*

Since Shang Fengxue’s strength was superior to his due to the difference in their cultivation, Zhang Fei [5] increased his speed to parry and counterattack her.

Just as Zhang Fei [5] expected, Shang Fengxue started to have difficulty attacking him because she couldn’t keep up with his speed. Even so, she always managed to block his attacks solely by relying on her fighting instincts, leaving him unable to land a single hit on her.

Jian Kuang crossed his arms in front of his chest with his fists clenched into fists, and his eyes moved to follow the movements of the two. Although Shang Fengxue’s speed was slower than Zhang Fei [5]’s, she was still much faster than the average cultivator, and her fighting instincts amazed him.

Su Shentian also said nothing as his eyes continued to move to follow the two’s movements, and he was quite impressed by Shang Fengxue’s ability to block all of Zhang Fei [5]’s attacks, even though she couldn’t keep up with his speed.

While watching the two fight, Zhuxian Sheng felt the blood within his body boil, and he wanted to experience the power of Shang Fengxue’s attacks through a spar with her.

Meanwhile, Luo Yunxiao and several other women wore serious expressions, and they focused on studying Shang Fengxue’s movements and fighting style, which were entirely different from their husband’s. If their husband relied more on his speed and accuracy in his attacks, she relied more on her raw attack power.

Long Xiaolian and Jun Qingling had never seen Zhang Fei [5] fight with their eyes, but the case was different for Shang Yuelan, who had fought with him before. He even broke her beloved sword at that time, which made her depressed.

Shang Yuelan knew Zhang Fei [5]’s speed was exceptional, but she was truly shocked to see that it was much faster than during their previous encounter, which made her realize he had been holding back in that fight. Even Shang Fengxue, much stronger than him in terms of cultivation, could only rely on her instincts to block all his attacks.

Even though she could block all of Zhang Fei [5]’s attacks, Shang Fengxue was frustrated because she couldn’t attack him back, let alone land a hit on his body. Furthermore, his speed was getting faster with each passing second, which made it increasingly difficult to predict his attacks. ’Tch! My guess was right that he was indeed holding back when he fought three of my race’s four guardians.’

’She is indeed a maniac fighter, and her battle instincts are sharper than those of the four asura guardians! Even though she can’t follow my movements, she can still thwart all my attacks just by relying on her instincts.’ Zhang Fei [5] smiled and decided to increase his speed even further, and he attacked Shang Fengxue with greater precision.

Shang Fengxue was shocked when Zhang Fei [5] did that, and she didn’t expect that he could still increase his speed even further. His attack speed was significantly faster than before, and his accuracy in targeting her improved, making it increasingly difficult for her to defend against all his attacks.

After he fought with the four asura guardians in the Asura Demon Domain that time, Zhang Fei [5] realized that his fighting skills were still minimal. Since then, he has often trained with Jian Kuang, Su Shentian, and Zhuxian Sheng to further hone his fighting skills.

Zhang Fei [5] could have defeated Shang Fengxue earlier if he had borrowed the power of the remaining evil beasts in his beast space, but he didn’t do that because he wanted to use their sparring sessions to improve himself.

Shang Fengxue was completely frustrated with the change in their sparring, and she thought about using her little strength to turn the situation around. However, her pride as a fighter prevented her from doing so, especially since Zhang Fei [5] was still much weaker than her in terms of cultivation.

”Gah!” Shang Fengxue was pushed back after Zhang Fei [5] struck her abdomen, and he immediately moved in front of her, pressing his sword to her neck. ”Your speed is too fast for me, and I can’t keep up with your movements at all.”

Zhang Fei [5] drew back his sword and put it away again. ”Your main mistake is that you focused too much on the power of your attacks, but you neglected your speed. In real combat, attack power is important, but it’s useless if we can’t attack our enemy because of the difference in our speed. Unlike you, I’ve honed my speed for years, but I haven’t forgotten the power of my attacks, so the two are evenly matched for me.”

”You’re right.” Shang Fengxue kept her weapon. ”In my asura demon race, everyone focuses on our physical strength, except for a few people. Additionally, we too often rely on our Bloodline Awakening Technique, which increases the speed and power of our attacks several times.”

Zhang Fei [5] nodded in understanding. ”In the past, I also relied too much on my strengthening techniques to increase my attack power, but everything changed after I faced a powerful cultivator. I almost died at that person’s hands that time, so I started to change my fighting habits, and I no longer rely on my strengthening techniques, like when I fought your asura guardians.”

”So, I guessed right that you were holding back in a fight, huh?”

”No.” Zhang Fei [5] denied with a shake of his head. ”I never hold back my strength in actual combat, but I don’t want to rely on my strengthening technique because that power isn’t my true strength. Although I still use it sometimes when I’m facing stronger enemies, I rarely use it anymore, and I prioritize using my true strength like in our fight just now.”

Shang Fengxue nodded in understanding. ”Can you show me your strengthening technique?

”Sure.”

Shang Fengxue instantly froze in shock at her spot after Zhang Fei [5] activated the soul link to borrow the power of one of the evil mythical beasts, especially since her cultivation became on par with her big brother, Shang Zhanluo. ”Unbelievable! Your cultivation has directly reached the 3-Sun Celestial Venerable!”

”Yes.” Zhang Fei [5] deactivated the soul link immediately. ”Unfortunately, this strength is not my true strength, and I only borrow other people’s strength to improve mine. That’s why I don’t want to rely on my techniques anymore, and I want to use my strength to fight the enemies that come my way. If I keep using my techniques to fight my enemies, I will really die when I meet an enemy that is too strong, like the person I met that time.”

”Who is that person?”

”I don’t know that person’s identity, but I know she’s much stronger than all the demon gods, including your father.” Zhang Fei [5] didn’t want to reveal Yuan Xiajie’s identity to her. ”I continued honing my fighting skills and increasing my strength because I want to face her again in the future, and I will defeat her then.”

”A woman, huh?” Zhang Fei [5] nodded at Shang Fengxue. ”Is that woman much stronger than Empress Huo?”

”Haha.” Zhang Fei [5] laughed softly. ”There isn’t a single cultivator from the Paradise Realm who is stronger than Feng Yao, and I can say for certain that she is the strongest in the entire universe.”

Shang Fengxue had no doubts about it because all the demon gods were also afraid of Feng Yao, including her father, Shang Zhanluo. However, she was curious about the identity of the woman mentioned by Zhang Fei [5] earlier, and she wanted to meet her for a sparring match. Unfortunately, his expression clearly showed that he did not want to say anything about the woman’s identity, so she did not insist on asking him about it either.

”If you still want to spar with me, you can stay in this sect for a while, and we will welcome you.” Zhang Fei [5] turned to Jian Kuang and the others. ”Moreover, they also want to spar with you, so you should stay in this sect for a few days and spar with them.”

Shang Fengxue agreed with that. ”I wasn’t satisfied with our sparring, and I’d like to spar with you again another time. Furthermore, I have no business in my domain, so I’ll be staying in the sect for a while.”
