Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 1453: Huo Jinying’s Warning

After thinking it over, Long Huoyan decided to give in, and he followed his second wife’s wishes. ”Alright, I’ll talk to our daughter later, and I’ll give her some things for her protection. I need someone to accompany her there, and I can’t possibly send my son or my other daughter to accompany her.”

”His daughter.” Huo Jinying pointed at a male demihuman with a half-fox and half-human appearance. ”Huli Yun, your daughter, Huli Wanqing, has been close friends with Long Xiaolian for a long time, right? I want you to contact your daughter now and ask her to accompany the second princess to the Moonlit Passion Temple, so you should ask her to prepare now.”

”Yes, Empress.” Huli Yun contacted her daughter and asked her to prepare. ”My daughter will prepare for her departure, and she is eager to accompany Princess Xiaolian.”

Huo Jinying nodded in satisfaction. ”This way you don’t have to worry about Xiaolan, husband. I’m sure they will be fine there, and Zhang Fei won’t let anything bad happen to them.”

”Yes.” Long Huoyan spoke to the demihuman race officials. ”Since Zhang Fei has a close relationship with Empress Huo Yanling, I forbid anyone from causing trouble in his shop, and I will punish anyone who dares to do so. Now, go and convey my orders to all our citizens.”

”Yes, Emperor.”

After those people left, Si Yingwu asked her husband and sister. ”Does Zhang Fei really have a connection with Empress Huo Yanling? How could he have a relationship with her?”

Huo Jinying explained to Si Yingwu the message she received from Long Xiaolan earlier. ”Your daughter met Empress Huo in person, so I’m sure she didn’t give me the wrong information. She left her two subordinates in our domain, and they were assigned to protect Zhang Fei’s shop and his people there.”

Si Yingwu nodded in understanding. ”I think we should be careful about Zhang Fei’s shop, Husband. We must protect the people who work there, or we will face serious problems if our citizens seek trouble with them, and we won’t be able to handle Empress Huo’s wrath if something happens to them.”

”You’re right.” Long Huoyan contacted several people and asked them to prevent the citizens of his kingdom from causing trouble with the people at Zhang Fei’s shop. ”Wife, I want you to warn our son not to trouble them, or we will lose him if he dares to cause trouble with them.”

Huo Jinying agreed with her husband, and she left the throne room to meet their son, mainly because Long Lingxun had shown his dislike for Zhang Fei because of his relationship with the demon races.

Long Huoyan pulled Si Yingwu onto his lap and asked her a question. ”Do you really have no problem with our daughter joining the Moonlit Passion Sect, Wife?”

”No.” Si Yingwu shook her head slightly. ”Xiaolian has shown me many pictures of the sect’s situation, and I can see that people of all races living there have harmonious relationships. That’s why I don’t have to worry about our daughter while she’s there, and she’ll gain many new experiences during her stay. When she returns someday, I’m sure she’ll have matured a lot.”

Long Huoyan sighed inwardly because both his wives were the same, and they weren’t the least bit worried about their children’s situation. ”Am I being too paranoid as a father? I’m always afraid that something terrible will happen to my children, so I never want them to leave my side. If they’re far away from me, it will be difficult for me to protect them.”

”Haha.” Si Yingwu kissed her husband and put her arms around his neck. ”Sister Jinying and I are also always worried about our children, but we both realize that they are already adults, and we can’t possibly ask them to stay in our domain forever. In the past, our parents also did the same thing with us, and they allowed us to travel to other domains to gain experience, so we want our children to experience that too.”

Long Huoyan smiled as he recalled his youthful memories. Those times were the most precious to him, which shaped him into the person he is today. ”Being a parent is never easy, right? In the past, I always made my parents worry about me, but I never realized that, and I always did as I pleased when I was young. I’m old now, and I have all of you as my family. I always worried about the safety of you two and our children, which made me realize that I also made my parents worry about me in the past.”

”You finally realized it, huh?” Long Huoyan responded to Si Yingwu with a bitter smile. ”Just like you, I will always worry about our daughter, but I believe she will be fine at the Moonlit Passion Temple.”

”I hope you’re right, Wife.” Long Huoyan lowered Si Yingwu from his lap and took her hand. ”I hope our daughter will be truly mature in mind when she comes home one day.”

Si Yingwu nodded at her. ”Our daughter will surprise us at that time.”

Long Lingxun closed the book in his hand when Huo Jinying walked into his study. ”Why did you come here, Mother? Is there something important?”

”I know you don’t like Zhang Fei because of his views on the demon race, but your father and I want you not to get into trouble with him or the people who work in his shop.” Long Lingxun did not say anything and looked at Huo Jinying expressionlessly. ”You have to listen to me, Son. If you mess with his people, you will die by his hands, and we won’t be able to save you from him.”

Long Lingxun’s eyebrows raised slightly. ”Do you really believe that a cultivator at the 3-Sun Celestial King Realm, such as Zhang Fei, can defeat and kill me, Mother?”

”You are too naive and arrogant, Son.” Huo Jinying said this while shaking her head. ”Do you know Zhang Qingxiu’s true identity?”

”Who is she?”

”Are you familiar with the name Qi Qingxiu?” Long Lingxun’s expression turned serious and tense upon hearing the name from Huo Jinying’s mouth. ”Judging by your expression, you should already know her true identity, right? Do you think a woman as strong as her will accept a weak cultivator as her husband? If Zhang Fei can subdue a woman as strong as her and take her as his wife, you should already be able to guess his true strength.”

”That’s—”

”Listen to me first.” Long Lingxun said nothing and let Huo Jinying continue. ”Zhang Fei not only succeeded in taking Qi Qingxiu as his wife, but he also had a relationship with a woman who was feared by all the cultivators in this realm. You may have never heard of her name because she died long before you were born, but she is back now, and she is the leader of the Blazing Nirvana Domain, Empress Huo Yanling.”

*Bam*

The chair fell with a bang as Long Lingxun abruptly stood up, and he looked at Huo Jinying with trembling eyes. ”Are you joking with me, Mother? How—”

”Do you think I’m joking around when talking about such a serious matter?” Long Lingxun swallowed his saliva when Huo Jinying narrowed her eyes at him. ”Xiaolan has met Empress Huo in person, and she has a close relationship with Zhang Fei. She sent two of her subordinates to our domain to protect his people, and she is a very cruel woman. She returned to this realm several months ago, and she ordered her subordinates to kill all cultivators who tried to invade her domain while she was away, which ended in the death of thousands of cultivators.”

Long Lingxun was truly shocked after hearing that because he had already heard about the actions of the women from the Blazing Nirvana Domain a few months ago, and he knew that they killed many cultivators from all races a few months ago, with their biggest victims being the demon races.

Long Lingxun had never met Empress Huo Yanling in person because she died long before he was born, but he had heard of her name because all cultivators from various races often spoke of her, including the demihuman race.

”I know you don’t like Zhang Fei because of his principles regarding all demon races, but you also can’t forbid others from having relationships with them just because you hate them.” Huo Jinying walked to her son’s side and hugged him. ”For now, there’s no problem between you two, and I don’t want you looking for trouble with his people in that shop. If you harm them in any way, I am certain that he will take action to protect them, which could result in your death. His cultivation is indeed far below yours, but you have to remember that he managed to subdue Qi Qingxiu, and he also has a relationship with Empress Huo, so you must not underestimate him.”

After she said that, Huo Jinying released Long Lingxun from her embrace and left the place, and she wanted him to think about all her words just now. She believed that her son was an adult, so he should be able to consider the downsides of causing trouble with Zhang Fei.

Once he came back to his senses, Long Lingxun picked up the fallen chair and sat on it, seriously thinking about Huo Jinying’s words just now about Zhang Fei.
