Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 1451: Huo Xiaoyu’s Arrival

Qi Qingxiu wanted to go pick up Feng Shanxi and the others, but Zhang Fei stopped her because someone had already picked them up, confusing her.

After a while, two women brought Feng Shanxi and her entourage, which caused the demihumans around the shop to fall silent, especially after they saw their dresses.

From their dresses, the demihumans could recognize their identities as part of the Blazing Nirvana Domain, and none of them dared to say anything, even though the two women were human.

The demihumans wondered about the arrival of the two women, especially Zhang Fei’s relationship with the people from the Blazing Nirvana Domain. They heard of the women’s actions some time ago, and they had slaughtered countless cultivators from various domains who had tried to attack them in the past.

Long Xiaolian was also shocked by the presence of the two women, and she stole glances at Zhang Fei, wondering in her heart about her relationship with Empress Huo Yanling and the people of the Blazing Nirvana Domain. ’How... how did he know the women of that domain?’

Jia Yuyan, Zhang Chen, Hu Lili, and Hu Yue laughed in their hearts after they saw Long Xiaolian’s shocked expression.

Huo Xiaoyu and the other woman ignored the demihumans’ stares and led Feng Shanxi and her entourage into the shop. ”Zhang Fei, our empress ordered Huo Fengyin and me to stay in this domain, specifically to protect your shop and your people.”

”She told me that she would send you to this domain, but she didn’t tell me she would send anyone else. Even so, I’m glad you two are here, and I feel confident leaving my people here.” Zhang Fei glanced at Huo Fengyin, but she maintained a stiff expression. ”Did something happen to her?”

Huo Xiaoyu put her arm around Huo Fengyin’s shoulder and answered Zhang Fei. ”Fengyin lost her vocal cord because an evil person damaged it in the past, so she hasn’t been able to speak since then. Moreover, she has never left our domain, and she has never met anyone else, so I hope you can understand her.”

”Hmm?” Zhang Fei raised his eyebrows for a moment and reached out his hand to Huo Fengyin, but she shifted away and hid behind Huo Xiaoyu. ”You don’t have to be afraid of me, okay? You’re her subordinate, so I would never do anything bad to you, and I just want to check on your condition.”

Huo Xiaoyu pulled Huo Fengyin forward and spoke to her. ”You heard our empress’s words yesterday, right? She sent you here to meet Zhang Fei because he might have a solution to cure you, so you should let him examine your body.”

Upon hearing that, Huo Fengyin nodded to Huo Xiaoyu and extended her right hand to Zhang Fei, but she trembled as their hands almost touched each other due to her past trauma.

Zhang Fei knew that all of Feng Yao’s followers were victims of past violence, but he was surprised to find that among them, Huo Fengyin was particularly afraid of men due to her trauma.

Zhang Fei grabbed Hui Fengyin’s hand and channeled his light element into her body, surprising her. Her body quickly stopped shaking, and she felt an incredible sense of calm, and she had never felt so calm since the incident that had happened to her in the past. ’Can I regrow her vocal cord with my body modification ability?’

[You are asking a stupid question, master.] Zhang Fei’s expression darkened when Mei made that comment. [You can even turn a man into a woman and vice versa, so regenerating this woman’s vocal cords is the most trivial thing. However, she hasn’t spoken for too long, so she might need to adapt to speaking again.]

Zhang Fei didn’t answer Mei and used his body modification ability on Huo Fengyin directly, making her feel a little uncomfortable as something grew inside her mouth. She wanted to pull her hand back, but he grabbed it tightly and held her back. ”Don’t move.”

Huo Xiaoyu sighed slightly and restricted Huo Fengyin’s movements because she was stronger than Zhang Fei, but she was not stronger than her.

A few minutes later, Zhang Fei let go of Huo Fengyin’s hand. ”Try to talk now.”

Huo Fengyin looked at Zhang Fei angrily because Huo Xiaoyu had already explained to her that she didn’t have vocal cords, but he asked her to try speaking, which was clearly impossible.

”You should try speaking now, Fengyin.” Huo Fengyin turned to Huo Xiaoyu with a frown. ”Are you doubting our empress’ words? She said that Zhang Fei can treat you and make you talk again, so you should believe her. If you doubt her words, I will report you to her, and she will lock you up in the dungeon.”

Huo Fengyin shuddered after hearing Huo Xiaoyu’s words, and she looked at Zhang Fei again with her mouth slightly open. Even though her empress said that he could cure her, she still doubted his abilities.

”I—” Huo Fengyin was stunned as soon as she heard her voice, and she looked at Zhang Fei in shock.

Huo Xiaoyu breathed a sigh of relief and released Huo Fengyin from her restrictions, and she looked at Zhang Fei in admiration because he could do something that other healers could not.

Zhang Fei smiled at Huo Fengyin. ”You’ve recovered now, and you can speak again. However, you haven’t spoken for a long time, so you might need some time to adapt, and you’ll be able to speak fluently after some time.”

”Thank... you...” After saying that, Huo Fengyin fell to her knees and sobbed. ”Sob... Xiaoyu, I can speak again... Sob...”

Huo Xiaoyu rubbed her head. ”Silly girl! Our empress will never lie to us, you know? She said that Zhang Fei could help you, but you didn’t believe her, and you finally proved it yourself.”

”Sob... Yes...” Huo Fengyin nodded her head several times and continued to cry.

Huo Xiaoyu shook her head at Huo Fengyin’s appearance, but she didn’t stop her from crying. ”Thank you for healing her and allowing her to speak again, Zhang Fei. You don’t need to worry about your shop and your people because we will protect them, and our empress ordered us to kill anyone who dares to touch them.”

The demihumans outside the building were shocked when they heard Huo Xiaoyu’s words, and they fled in droves with their tails between their legs, as they were truly frightened of her.

Long Xiaolian had already heard about the cruelty of the women from the Blazing Nirvana Domain, so she felt fearful of Huo Xiaoyu. She immediately hid behind Qi Qingxiu and hugged her arm tightly, amusing her.

”You don’t need to thank me.” Zhang Fei looked at Feng Shanxi and her party. ”Why did you come with them to this domain, Ren Xiyi?”

”Haha.” Ren Xiyi laughed while rubbing her head. ”I was bored of staying in our domain, so I decided to come here with Feng Shanxi and the others to relieve my boredom.”

Zhang Fei sighed softly. ”Do Old Ren and your mother know that you went to this domain?”

”Of course! Do you think I can leave without their permission?”

”I see.” Zhang Fei nodded in understanding before turning to Long Xiaolan, but she was hiding behind Qi Qingxiu. ’This woman is truly terrified of Huo Xiaoyu.’ ”Second princess, you don’t need to be afraid of them; they are my friends, and they won’t do anything to you.”

”But—”

”That’s enough.” Qi Qingxiu interrupted and pulled Long Xiaolian forward. ”You are a cultivator and a princess, so you must maintain your dignity. They are indeed stronger than you, and they are also cruel. However, they won’t do anything bad to you as long as you don’t do anything wrong, so you don’t need to be afraid of them.”

”Moreover, you have the fire dragon bloodline in your body, and a dragon is not a timid creature.” Jia Yuyan spoke.

Long Xiaolian pursed her lips after hearing Jia Yuyan’s words. ”I do have the fire dragon bloodline, but I’m not a true dragon. They’re as powerful as my parents, and that woman’s words just now were extremely frightening.”

”Hahaha.” Huo Xiaoyu laughed at that. ”You haven’t met my empress yet; you’ll probably be even more frightened in her presence.”

Long Xiaolian wanted to say something to Huo Xiaoyu, but a crimson flame suddenly shot out from Zhang Fei’s body and transformed into Feng Yao. She jumped slightly and hid behind Qi Qingxiu again, making her feel helpless with her behavior. ’Is... is this woman Empress Huo Yanling? How... how could she be inside Zhang Fei’s body?’

Feng Yao looked at Long Xiaolian and gave her a playful smile, causing the second princess of the demihuman race to be even more afraid of her. She ignored the princess, turned to Huo Fengyin, lifted her to her feet, and wiped her tears.

”Empress, I—”

Feng Yao placed her index finger on Huo Fengyin’s lips. ”Are you happy now? Even though you have to wait so long, you can finally talk again like before.”

Huo Fengyin nodded her head strongly and hugged Feng Yao, who immediately hugged her back. ”Thank you, Empress. I will not disappoint you; I will protect these people and shop.”

”I believed you would protect them, so I sent you and Xiaoyu here.” Feng Yao turned to Zhang Fei. ”The two of them are enough to protect your people, and no one can hurt them.”
