Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 843: Zhang Feiʼs New Plans

Zhang Fei decided to bring Shang Yaolin to the pavilion, but some of them greeted her with cold shoulders, such as Boitata, Zhang Yue, and several others.

Although she had met them all before, Shang Yaolin still felt uncomfortable seeing dozens of women gathered together in one place, especially since they belonged to one man, including herself.

Zhang Fei told them about his marriage to Helian Yueyi, but they were not surprised by his decision, and they had long thought that he would take her as his woman.

Some of them felt quite sorry for Helian Yueyi, especially since Zhang Fei toyed with her feelings in such an extreme way before. Her situation was still sad, even though she could no longer remember any of it. Moreover, he indirectly killed Huangfu Shou through Li Tiannan, especially since he was one of his slaves.

Zhang Fei took Bai Shushi away with him, and he asked her to marry him so that he could complete his new marriage mission. However, she refused to marry him unless he also married her daughter, Bai Tianʼer. He agreed to her request.

Thereafter, Zhang Fei returned to his residence and informed Zhang Chen, who was overjoyed to hear the news. After all, Bai Shushi and Bai Tianʼer have been living with them for quite a long time now due to the difference in time flow, and she liked them.

Since he had enslaved the three leaders of the alchemy union, Zhang Fei decided to bring Nanfeng Yunxi and Luo Xuejia back to the Nine Stars Realm to take care of his shops in all the kingdoms, except his shop in the nature racesʼ kingdom. He asked the two women to stay at his residence, making it easier for them to commute to all the shops via the teleportation devices.

Zhang Fei wanted to ask Huangfu Lian to open a shop in the Huangfu Kingdom, but Mei advised him to build a small city on an empty island and connect it to all the kingdoms. This way, he did not need to take care of many shops at once, and people from all kingdoms could go to the small town via teleportation devices.

Zhang Fei agreed with Meiʼs idea, and he immediately gathered the former emperors in one place. He also invited Long Huang and Long Baiyun to join them, and he did not forget to pick up Xian Lianghua and Xue Jingling in the Phoenix Realm.

The people from the Xian, Yun, Zhou, Bai, Huangfu, and Demon Kingdoms naturally didnʼt mind that, especially since all of them had joined under Zhang Feiʼs banner. However, the situation was different with the other two kingdoms, especially the Natural Racesʼ Kingdom.

”Do you really want to unite all the races?” Xian Lianghua asked.

Zhang Fei nodded to him. ”Isnʼt that a good thing? There are several realms out there where humans, demons, beasts, and natural races can coexist together. If they are able to achieve this, perhaps we can as well. This realm has long been divided because everyone has their own ambitions, and some people threaten the safety of others. However, the situation is much safer now, and almost all of us are united presently, except for your kingdom and the beast kingdom. If you two are willing to open yourselves to accept each other, this realm will be more peaceful, and everyone can grow together.”

”Your idea is indeed good, and I agree with it, but it is difficult to realize.” Long Huang spoke. ”You yourself know the character of my beast races; most of them have inflated egos and look down on humans or demons.”

Xian Lianghua also spoke. ”I also agree with your idea, but my natural races always hate humans and demons because of past problems. The hatred has been ingrained for several generations, so it is difficult to change their minds.”

”Naturally, I am aware of that, especially since my home realm is also experiencing the same situation.” Zhang Fei paused for a while as he looked at them one by one. ”Honestly, I have an idea to unite all the races in this realm, but I want to know your opinions first.”

”Whatʼs your idea?”

”Since we canʼt use soft methods to unite them, I will use the hardest methods for that. All the kingdoms will remain as they are now, but I will unite them all and form a new force.” All of them immediately frowned, especially the two emperors and empresses of the Beast and Natural Race Kingdoms. ”I have no intention to interfere or take over them, and I will use the new force as a formality to force all races to unite.”

”A formality?”

Zhang Fei nodded at them. ”The new force will only have a name, and all of you will be its members. It does not have any role in the affairs of any kingdom, and you guys remain in control of your respective kingdoms. I will ask one of my acquaintances to suppress all the races in this realm, and I will force them to submit to me.”

Long Huang and Xian Lianghua briefly exchanged glances before one of them posed a question. ”Are you sure you want to do that? They may unite if necessary, but it wonʼt resolve the main issue, and they may revolt in the future.”

”Do you think they will do that, Emperor Long?” Zhang Fei asked with a smile. ”We beasts always prioritize our egos and pride, but we will also acknowledge the strongest. I can suppress them myself with my heavenly fox bloodline, but I will ask a much stronger beast to help me, and Iʼm sure they wonʼt dare to rebel. Moreover, you already know the benefits of my pills, so it would be unwise for them to rebel.”

Long Huang let out a soft sigh after hearing that, especially since he already knew about Feng Yao. The phoenix princess was clearly much stronger than him and his wife, and she could suppress all the beasts in their kingdom easily if she wanted to.

”Then, what about our natural races?” Xue Jingling asked him.

Zhang Fei thought for a while before answering her. ”I donʼt have a solution about your people yet, but I know someone from the natural race. She lives in the Evergreen Spirit Haven Realm, one of the realms in the upper realms. She is likely waiting for me to visit her realm, and I intend to go there soon. She should be able to help me convince them, but I will discuss this matter with her first.”

”She?”

”Yes.” Zhang Fei nodded at them. ”Honestly, I donʼt know her true identity yet because she came to me using her avatar, but I believe she is powerful.”

Xue Jingling nodded in understanding. ”In that case, you should go to her and talk to her first. If you suppress your natural races to such an extent, they will never accept you, and they will undoubtedly fight you until the end. Therefore, you should use more subtle methods against them, and your chances of success will increase if another natural race helps you convince them.”

”All right.” Zhang Fei then spoke to the leaders of the human and demon kingdoms. ”Iʼve already chosen a location for the new city, so I want you to send people to the island to build it. Once the construction is complete, Iʼll move all of my shops and restaurants to the island, and Iʼll install several teleportation devices to connect all the kingdoms to the island.”

”Are you just going to use the city for your shop and restaurant?” Shi Qingzhuang asked.

”Yes.” Zhang Fei nodded in response. ”I will focus the new city specifically for my shop and restaurant, and I want to build some there. This way, people can shop and eat more comfortably without having to jostle with each other, and the city will become a gathering place for all races. However, I will implement harsh and strict regulations, and I will also place a powerful guard there. I will give him the freedom to punish anyone who dares to create chaos there, whether they are humans, beasts, natural races, or demons.”

Xian Feng then spoke to the others. ”Since we have retired and our sons have taken over our duties, I think we can stay in the new city. We will watch over them while focusing on our cultivation, and we will ascend to the upper realms once our cultivation breaks through to the Divine Manifestation Realm.”

”I agree with you, Brother Feng.” Yun Shang said.

Bai Yaowei also agreed with that. ”Since the situation on our island is safe and stable, I think it is the best decision for us, and our sons will fully take care of our kingdoms.”

”In that case, we should send those people to the island, and they will immediately start building the new city.” Guo Xuehua then spoke to Zhang Fei. ”To facilitate the construction, you should install some teleportation first. That way, they can go back and forth to get building materials more easily, which will speed up construction.”

”All right.” After that, Zhang Fei sent them back to their respective kingdoms, but he sent Xian Lianghua and Xue Jingling back to the Phoenix Realm.

Zhang Fei immediately returned to the pavilion, where he had a good time with Shang Yaolin. Having been apart for several months, they were eager to express their longing for each other.

Qiao Liangren stood in front of a grave, and his expression was full of longing. He placed many flowers around it, and he also burned some items for the owner of the grave.

Qiao Liangren then poured wine on the tombstone. ”Please forgive me, Yueʼer. For hundreds of years, I have never been able to avenge your death, especially since Qiao Jinggong was my big brother. However, he is dead now, and my junior brother killed him for me. I donʼt know if youʼve been reincarnated, but I hope you can rest in peace. If there is a second chance, I want to be with you again, and I will protect you with all my life.”

*Tap... Tap...*

Suddenly, the sound of light footsteps walked towards him, and Qiao Liangren immediately turned to the owner, finding a young woman in her early twenties casually walking towards him.

The young womanʼs face was not beautiful, and her appearance was quite shabby, but Qiao Liangren sensed a familiar feeling from her. ”Who are you, Big Brother? Do you know the owner of this grave?”

”Qin Yue is my lover.” The young woman was momentarily surprised by Qiao Liangrenʼs answer. ”Who are you, little girl?”

”My name is Yue Qinhua.” Qiao Liangren raised his eyebrows for a moment as he thought in his heart. ”Actually, I donʼt know the owner of this grave, and I found it when I visited my auntʼs tomb. For some reason, the name Qin Yue felt familiar to me, so I visited her grave every time I went to see my aunt.”

Qiao Liangren inhaled deeply and inquired. ”Little girl, I wonʼt hurt you, but I want to check your soul. Can I do that?”

”Eh?” Yue Qinhua looked at Qiao Liangren with repeated blinks. ”Are you a soul cultivator, Big Brother?”

”Yes.” Qiao Liangren nodded to her. ”I just want to confirm something from you, so I hope you donʼt mind that.”

”All right.”

After Yue Qinhua gave her consent, Qiao Liangren carefully examined her soul. Unfortunately, the results were not as he had expected, especially since her soul was different from Qin Yueʼs. ʼSigh! What the hell was I thinking? There canʼt be such a coincidence. I must have missed Yueʼer too much, and I thought this little girl was her reincarnation.ʼ

Qiao Liangren let out a soft sigh and asked. ”Where did you learn the soul cultivation?”

”My late aunt taught me about the soul cultivation path, and she left many notes for me. Unfortunately, my talent is not good, so my soul cultivation is still stuck at the early stage of the soul core level.” Yue Qinhua then showed the notes to Qiao Liangren. ”What level is your soul at, Big Brother?”

”Iʼm almost at the perfection stage of the heavenly soul level.” Hearing that, Yue Qinhuaʼs jaw fell, prompting Qiao Liangren to read the notes directly. ”Do you still have family? Do you want to be my disciple? Iʼm not yet a master in the soul cultivation path, but I can teach you a lot about it, and your soul level will rise faster.”

”Big Brother, I still have my parents, but I live with my late aunt most of the time. Even though my aunt has passed away, I continue to live in her residence.” Yue Qinhua then asked. ”Do you really want to teach me about the soul cultivation path, Big Brother?”

Qiao Liangren nodded at her. ”For a young cultivator of your age, your soul level is already quite high, which proves your talent for the soul cultivation path. Unfortunately, the notes left by your late aunt are only the basics, so you have difficulty improving your soul level. If you are willing to be my disciple, I will give you better methods, and I believe you will surpass me in the future.”

”Can I really surpass you, Big Brother?” Qiao Liangren nodded to Yue Qinhua, who dropped to her knees straight away. ”Big brother, I am willing to be your disciple, and please teach me more about the soul cultivation path.”

”You donʼt need to be like this, Qinhua.” Qiao Liangren helped her up. ”For now, we have to meet your parents first and ask for their permission, so they wonʼt worry about you. After we meet them, I will take you to my clan, and we will go to another realm after that.”

”Yes, Big Brother.” Yue Qinhua suddenly realized she didnʼt know his name. ”Whatʼs your name, Big Brother?”

”Qiao Liangren, and you can call me Big Brother Qiao.”

”Eh?” Yue Qinhua froze in place after hearing his name. ”Can I call you Big Brother Liang? I donʼt know why, but I want to call you that.”

This time, Qiao Liangren stiffened, and his eyes trembled as he stared at Yue Qinhua.

”What happened, Big Brother? Canʼt I call you that?” Yue Qinhua asked in a sad tone.

ʼI have to take her to my master to confirm the truth.ʼ Qiao Liangren patted her head. ”You can call me that, Qinhua.”

”Hehe.” Yue Qinhua was delighted to hear that. ”Letʼs go, Big Brother Liang! Iʼll take you to see my parents, but Iʼm sure they wonʼt have a problem with that.”

Sometime later, Qiao Liangren had brought Yue Qinhua to the Qiao Clan after they met her parents, who agreed with her decision to become his disciple.

The situation in the Qiao Clan was not good, especially after they found Qiao Jinggongʼs dried-up corpse. Qiao Liangren found his grandparents, parents, uncles, and aunts in the main hall, with his mother crying loudly beside his big brotherʼs corpse.

Yue Qinhua timidly followed behind Qiao Liangren; she did not expect that he was a member of one of the famous clans in their realm.

”Liangren.” Qiao Qingfeng called softly. ”Your big brother, he—”

”Grandpa, you should already know I donʼt care about him, and Iʼm satisfied because heʼs dead.” Qiao Liangrenʼs words only added to their sadness, but none of them blamed him. ”I came to say goodbye to all of you, and I donʼt know when Iʼll return to this realm again.”

”Are you going with your master and the others again?” Qiao Liangrenʼs father asked him.

Qiao Liangren nodded. ”We were forced to end our previous adventure because of the problems in the Xianjin realm, and we plan to continue it after everything is settled. Moreover, I have taken this little girl as my disciple, and I want to focus on guiding her on the soul cultivation path. As for our clanʼs affairs, I am not interested in being the patriarch, and you can leave it to my little brother or cousin.”

Qiao Qingfeng and the others sighed heavily. ”All right, you can focus on your own business, and we will take care of our clanʼs affairs.”

”Farewell.”
