Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 805: Obtained Ice Element

Xiao Laoshu, Lin Moxian, Yan Yinqing, and Tantai Lingyan looked at Zhang Xiaolong [3], who was sitting cross-legged on the heavenly rejuvenation jade in confusion.

Xiao Laoshu originally wanted to check Zhang Xiaolong [3]ʼs condition, but she found that his body was so cold, and it was freezing. She then contacted Lin Moxian to come, but Yan Yinqing and Tantai Lingyan decided to join him.

”What exactly happened to him, Senior Brother? How could his body freeze like this?” Yan Yinqing worriedly asked.

Tantai Lingyan touched Zhang Xiaolong [3]. ”I can feel the source of the coldness in his body, and it should come from the ice elemental seed. Additionally, I can feel the ice Qi from four different people, and one of them is similar to the ice phoenixʼs ice Qi.”

”According to him, one of his wives does have the ice phoenix bloodline, and he wants to take her away to the Phoenix Realm.” Lin Moxian instantly noticed Zhang Xiaolong [3]ʼs situation. ”This kid must be in that realm right now, and he must have found the ice elemental seed there.”

Tantai Lingyan nodded. ”If this kid is really in the phoenix realm, then it is true that the source of his cold is the ice elemental seed. After all, the seed can only appear in extremely cold places, and the ice phoenixʼs lake is one of the coldest places in the upper realms.”

”Has he gone mad? Why did he do such a reckless act?” Yan Yinqing inquired, her tone tinged with a hint of worry and irritation.

”You are mistaken, Yinqing.” Lin Moxian refuted his junior sister. ”If someone else did this, then I could say that that person was too reckless, especially since the cold would kill that person. However, our junior brother is different from other cultivators, and our master recognizes him. I donʼt know if he will succeed in obtaining the ice element, but he will become the first cultivator with the five elements if he manages to obtain it.”

”Five elements?” Tantai Lingyan and Xiao Laoshu were shocked to hear that.

Lin Moxian nodded to them. ”He already has the light, fire, wind, and darkness elements. If he manages to obtain the ice element, it will become his fifth element. As for his reason for doing this, I believe he is doing it for his big sister, who will face the ice phoenix trials in the future.”

”The ice phoenix trials?”

Xiao Laoshu explained to Yan Yinqing and Tantai Lingyan directly. ”Humans who inherit the ice phoenix bloodline must undergo the ice phoenix trials to prove their worthiness. However, I have never heard of any human passing the trials, and they all froze to death there, including my big sister.”

”Eh?” Xiao Laoshuʼs last words shocked Lin Moxian and the two women. ”Did your big sister really die in the phoenix trials?”

”My big sister accidentally obtained the ice phoenix bloodline five hundred years ago, and a woman from the ice phoenix race came to her not long after that. Even though the woman had explained to her about the risks, she still insisted on undergoing the trials, and she eventually died because of her foolish decision.” Xiao Laoshu looked at Zhang Xiaolong [3]. ”You must make sure that this kid forbids his big sister from undergoing the trials, or she will die like my big sister.”

Yan Yinqing and Tantai Lingyan turned to Lin Moxian, who immediately shook his head. ”Since I got to know him a month ago, I have known quite a bit about his character, and I can tell that he would never forbid his big sister from undergoing the trials. Instead, he would accompany her to undergo the trials, so he deliberately tortured himself like this.”

”Young Master Lin, he—”

”I can understand your loss, Laoshu. However, your big sister didnʼt have a companion when she underwent the trials, right?” Xiao Laoshu nodded to Lin Moxian, who patted Zhang Xiaolong [3]ʼs shoulder. ”This kid is much weaker than us in terms of cultivation, but he is wittier and more calculating than we are in dealing with many things. He even dared to face Xi Hongyan and the Shang Clan with his current strength, and they couldnʼt fight back against him. Since he has decided to accompany his big sister, I am sure he has considered everything well, and I believe that he will succeed in helping her pass the trials.”

Tantai Lingyan nodded in agreement with Lin Moxian. ”I spoke with Yizhen yesterday, and he told me a lot about this kid, especially his actions against the Shang Clan. Currently, the situation in the Red Sun Realm is under control, and the Shang Clan is in a precarious position as all their former allies have switched sides, leaving them isolated. She also told me that Xi Hongyan came to the Hong Clan because she was afraid that this kid wanted to control her Xi Clan, so she came to offer peace.”

”Hahaha.” Lin Moxian burst out laughing upon hearing that. ”Aunt Lingyan, Xi Hongyan owes my junior brother her life, or else she will die in a few months. Moreover, he came alone to the Xi Clan and managed to take her hostage; even Shang Huaqiang or Grandpa Hong dared not to do that, and Xi Qiuwei couldnʼt stop him with her superior cultivation. Since she already knows his strength and abilities, Iʼm not surprised that she chose to make peace with the Hong Clan.”

Hearing that, Yan Yinqing leaned forward and took a close look at Zhang Xiaolong [3]. ”I hope he will recover faster so I can spar and compete in speed with him.”

Lin Moxian and Tantai Lingyan patted their foreheads upon hearing that, but they were familiar with Yan Yinqingʼs character, and she was a competitive freak, especially when it came to speed. Xiao Laoshu then left the room and went to report to Tian Yishen regarding Zhang Xiaolong [3]ʼs condition.

”Big Brother!” Huangfu Xiaoying and Huangfu Xiaomei called out as they saw Huangfu Lian walking towards their prison.

”Big brother, please get us out of this disgusting prison; I canʼt stand to stay here anymore.” Huangfu Xiaomei spoke as she dusted off her dress.

Huangfu Xiaoying did the same. ”Please, big brother, release us from this place.”

Unlike her daughters, Helian Yueyi was more curious about the presence of Fei Yan and Guang Yi by Huangfu Lianʼs side because they were hugging his arms intimately, and the fake Ruo Yanxi stood behind them. ”Has that bastard taken control of all of you, Lianʼer?”

”Sister Yueyi, Iʼm sorry, but I canʼt defy Li Tiannanʼs orders.” The fake Ruo Yanxi replied by pretending to be sad.

Moreover, Zhang Fei had already erased most of Heian Yueyiʼs memories, especially about his fake fatherʼs identity. She no longer remembered him or their communication in the past few months, and in her eyes, Li Tiannan was the main villain who killed Huangfu Shou.

Huangfu Lian also answered her mother. ”Li Tiannan has controlled all of us, Mother. He also arranged everything so that Aunt Fei Yan and Aunt Guang Yi fell to me, so the four of us are together now. Please forgive me; I wish I could free the three of you from here, but his order prevents it.”

”I see.” Helian Yueyi nodded in understanding. ”I never blamed you, Lianʼer. Your late father and I are to blame for what happened to our family because we trusted Li Tiannan too much, and we never thought that he would betray us. What about your fatherʼs corpse? Did you bury him properly?”

”Yes.” Huangfu Lian nodded at her. ”I buried my fatherʼs corpse in the family cemetery, and I asked them to build the best tombstone for him.”

Helian Yueyi felt a little relieved after hearing that. ”Lianʼer, you donʼt have to worry about me, but I donʼt want Xiaoying and Xiaomei to suffer with me in this prison. I hope you can find a way to release them from here, and I want you to send them to a safe place so they can live in peace.”

”I will try to free them as soon as possible, Mother.” Huangfu Lian himself did not want to see his two sisters in prison, but Zhang Fei had not come to him again, and he still did not know his plans for them.

Helian Yueyi then looked at Fei Yan and Guang Yi, making both of them feel guilty in their hearts. After all, they were not controlled by Zhang Fei, and they were with Huangfu Lian because of their own decision.

”Sister Yueyi—”

”No need.” Helian Yueyi shook his head at them. ”Our husband is dead, and that villain controls both of you. Therefore, you donʼt need to feel guilty about me, and I want you to help Lianʼer in managing this kingdom.”

Fei Yan and Guang Yi nodded to him. ”We will definitely help Lianʼer well, Sister Yueyi.”

After that, Huangfu Lian led the three women out of the underground, leaving Helian Yueyi sighing to herself. She then hugged her two daughters and assured them. ”You two should be patient for a while; Iʼm sure your brother will find a way to free you from this place.”

”What about you, Mother?”

Helian Yueyi smiled and rubbed their cheeks. ”The most important thing for me is the safety of you two and Lianʼer. As long as the three of you can live quietly and peacefully, Iʼm happy with that, so you two donʼt have to worry about me because I will be fine here.”

Huangfu Xiaoying and Huangfu Xiaomei exchanged glances, but they could only sigh in their hearts, especially since they did not have the ability to save themselves or their mother. They suddenly remembered about Zhang Fei, and they thought that he could save their mother. ʼI hope big brother can take us away from this place as soon as possible, and I will meet that guy to beg him to save my mother.ʼ

Unfortunately, Huangfu Xiaoying and Huangfu Xiaomei did not know anything about their situation because they had been sleeping for several months, and their familyʼs situation became awful because of Zhang Fei.

On the flying artifact, Luo Xuejia looked worried because Zhang Fei [5]ʼs body was frozen, and the coldness emanating from his body felt even colder. She then asked Hong Xinxin and Shang Yumei. ”Will he really be okay?”

”Are you interested in our husband, Xuejia?” Hong Xinxin asked with a hint of suspicion in her eyes.

Luo Xuejia shook her head vigorously. ”He is my leader, and I donʼt have any feelings for him.”

”Hehe.” Shang Yumei chuckled. ”You may not have any feelings for our husband, but you will never be able to refuse him if he has other desires for you. Therefore, you must prepare yourself so you will not be surprised if he suddenly wants you.”

Luo Xuejiaʼs brows wrinkled, but she had known Zhang Fei [5] more, especially after she decided to become his subordinate and join his demon fox group in recent months.

Hong Xinxin then spoke to her. ”You donʼt have to worry about our husband, and his body is frozen like this because he is in the process of obtaining the ice element. I donʼt know whether he will succeed in obtaining it or not, but I hope he will succeed, especially since he has to help Zhang Yue to face her trials in the future. By the way, we will arrive at the Shrouded Sky Realm at midnight tonight, and we will go to the Alchemy Union Headquarters early tomorrow morning.”

”What are you going to do to them?” Luo Xuejia asked.

Shang Yumei pointed to Zhang Fei [5] instead. ”He hasnʼt told us his exact plans for them, but Huoyun Zhiyan and the other two wonʼt end well if they dare to go against him.”

”I see.” After she learned all of Zhang Fei [5]ʼs actions in the Nine Stars Realm, Luo Xuejia could more or less guess his plans for her former organization, and she hoped that they would not fight with him.

Several hours passed quickly, but Zhang Fei showed no signs of successfully obtaining the ice element. Instead, the cold radiating from his body was getting weaker, and he was likely to fail to obtain it.

Feng Yao immediately turned to Feng Xueying. ”Ancestor, I hope you can help him now, or he will fail to obtain the ice element.”

”Why are you eager to help him, Little Yao? Your attitude towards him is out of character.” Feng Xueying suspiciously asked.

Feng Yao shook her head. ”Ancestor, I canʼt explain anything to you now because it will affect the outcome, but I can tell you that I need Zhang Fei for something important, and you will know everything far in the future. Therefore, I want you to help him, or he wonʼt be able to help me.”

Feng Xueying was curious about that, and Xian Lianghua also looked at Feng Yao curiously. Even though she didnʼt explain it in detail, they could more or less guess her purpose.

Feng Xueying let out a soft sigh and flicked her finger towards Zhang Fei, and a small icy white Qi shot into his body through his chest, causing the cold that had previously begun to dissipate to become even stronger.

[Ding]

[The chance for the host to obtain the wind element has increased to 100%.]

Mei was surprised by that, but she was also happy about it, especially since Zhang Fei had definitely managed to obtain the ice element thanks to Feng Xueyingʼs help. [This way, my master will become even stronger, and he wonʼt need Zhang Yue to fight by his side to use the Hellflame Frost Lotus.]

As the sun set, the cold radiating from Zhang Feiʼs body finally reached its peak. Even though Xue Jingyi, the ice fairy, and Lan Zhen had the ice elements, they were still shivering from the cold. Unlike them, Zhang Yue didnʼt feel the slightest cold, and she absorbed it to improve herself.

*Crack... Crack...*

Gradually, the ice covering Zhang Feiʼs body cracked, and the cracks continued to spread until it shattered into pieces.

[Ding]

[The host obtained the ice element.]

[The hostʼs ice element has reached the lower stage.]

Seeing that, the four women immediately withdrew their ice Qi back, and they returned to the edge of the lake.

Feng Xueying hurriedly floated in front of Zhang Fei, touched his forehead with her index finger, and imparted the method to learn the ice elemental law.

After that, Zhang Fei slowly entered the icy lake, but no one stopped him as they realized his intention. As they expected, he attempted to form his ice element core, and he also studied the method to learn the ice elemental law at the same time.

In a few minutes, a vortex of cold air emerged from the ice lake and soared high into the air, which increased the cold in the area. After a while, the cold vortex gradually shrank and formed an icy white ball, which became clearer with each passing second.

Soon, the icy white ball was completely formed, and it quickly entered the ice lake before entering Zhang Feiʼs body.

[Ding]

[The host successfully formed the peak grade ice core.]

Zhang Fei did not immediately come out of the ice lake, and he took advantage of the cold inside the lake to learn the ice elemental law. Meanwhile, his fourth clone appeared in the sea of fire area where Feng Shen lived, and he immediately dived into it to raise his fire elemental law to the half-perfection stage.

Feng Shen, who was flying above the sea of fire, could only shake his head at the actions of Zhang Fei and his clone. ”This kidʼs actions are truly absurd, and his clones serve as his primary advantage in accelerating his cultivation. If he continues like this, he might be able to reach the 5-Moon Divine Ascension much faster than me and the others.”
