Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 816: King Rank Alchemist

Unlike the other members who were angered by Zhang Fei [5]ʼs words, Jiang Shen laughed out loud after hearing that. ”Hahaha! I wouldnʼt dare doubt your words, kid. You have connections with so many cultivators from the upper realm, and the senior beside you is also one of them, so you can force me easily.”

The people beside Jiang Shen looked at Feng Xishui, and they finally realized that they couldnʼt detect his cultivation, proving that he was much stronger than them.

Feng Xishui only smiled seeing them like that. ”Even without me having to make a move, this kid can easily subdue you all. He has already killed a powerful cultivator from the upper realms, so you guys are not his match, with your cultivation only being in the Divine Expansion Realm and the Divine Manifestation Realm.”

They obviously didnʼt believe Feng Xishuiʼs words because Zhang Fei [5]ʼs cultivation was still at the ten mortal realms, but Jiang Shen told them straight away. ”This kid suppressed Yuan Kong and Li Yanzhi with just his killing intent when they went to the Nine Stars Realm three months ago, so you shouldnʼt doubt his abilities. If you guys fight with him, you will die at his hands.”

”So, what do you decide, Senior Jiang? Are you willing to join me?” Zhang Fei [5] casually asked. ”As long as you all are willing to join and be obedient to me, I will not treat you badly and will help you reach a higher stage.”

*Tap... Tap...*

Jiang Shen lightly tapped his fingers on the table as he thought. ”What can you give us, kid?”

Zhang Fei [5] took out a bottle of basic pills and handed it to Jiang Shen, who immediately checked the contents. The people beside him also checked the pills, only to be shocked by their grade.

Zhang Fei [5] sucked the bottle toward him, saved it again, and spoke to them. ”After this, I will concoct rank 4 pills, and I will become a king rank alchemist afterwards. Additionally, I have almost succeeded in forging earth-grade equipment perfectly, so I will become a master rank blacksmith soon. Not to mention, I am a rank 4 array master, so you should already know the benefits of joining me.”

”Can we watch you concoct the pill?” One of them asked.

”Sure.” Zhang Fei [5] stood up from his seat and moved to the floor before taking out the Heaven Creation Furnace. Since Jiang Shen and the others werenʼt alchemists, he didnʼt worry too much about them, and he could prove his alchemy abilities more easily.

After that, Zhang Fei [5] took out the herbs to concoct the rank 4 Four-Star Yang Pill, which could increase the amount of his Yang Qi by 80% in one hour.

Jiang Shen and his subordinates carefully watched Zhang Fei [5], who deftly prepared the herbs one by one. In less than ten minutes, all the herbs were ready to be processed into pills, so he heated his furnace directly.

After the furnace reached the desired heat, Zhang Fei [5] immediately threw all the herbs into it, which shocked all of them. They immediately used their senses to see the process inside the furnace, where they could see that he was controlling all the herbs with outstanding precision.

Since the Heaven Creation Furnace had the function of cutting the time for concocting pills by half and upgrading them by one grade, Zhang Fei [5] was able to complete his alchemy in just one and a half hours.

After that, Zhang Fei [5] took out the five pills inside and showed them to those people. ”See? Youʼve watched me do alchemy firsthand, and these pills are superior-grade, rank 4 Four-Star Yang Pills, so you donʼt need to doubt my abilities anymore, right?”

Jiang Shen and the others nodded in response to Zhang Fei [5], who quickly cleaned up the remaining herbs and stored his furnace again. ”Kid, I would like to join you, but this organization is affiliated with the Blacksmith Union in the upper realms, so you should go there to talk to Senior Ji Changlan first. However, I think itʼs not a difficult matter for you, especially since you have relationships with many famous clans.”

”Ji Changlan should be arriving at the Xianjin Realm today or tomorrow, and Iʼm already waiting for him there, so Iʼll meet him as soon as he arrives.” Jiang Shen and the others looked confused hearing that because Zhang Fei [5] was clearly in front of them, but he would rather not explain to them about it yet. ”Senior Jiang, I believe he wonʼt refuse my request, so you should start preparing to join my organization.”

”All right, I will prepare what is necessary.” Jiang Shen then asked him. ”Do you two want to rest at our place?”

”No.” Zhang Fei [5] immediately refused. ”I heard that there is no alchemy shop in this realm because Huoyun Zhiyan was rejected, so I want to open one here, and you will help me manage it. Therefore, I want to go to the city to find the best building, and I will use it to open a shop and restaurant.”

”A restaurant?”

”Yes.” Zhang Fei [5] immediately told Jiang Shen about his other restaurants. ”Do you know the best chef in this realm?”

”I do.” Jiang Shen then walked to the exit. ”Letʼs go; Iʼll accompany you around the city, and Iʼll take you to meet the best chef in this realm.”

A while later, they arrived at a simple residence, where Zhang Fei [5] could smell the fragrant aroma of the dishes inside.

”Do you like their fragrant scent?” Jiang Shen asked.

Zhang Fei [5] nodded at him. ”Their aroma is quite fragrant and appetizing, but Iʼm not sure about their taste. I have no intention of belittling the chef, but the dishes in my restaurant are too delicious to be compared to other dishes.”

”Letʼs go in; I will introduce you to Grandma Wan Xueyuan, and you can taste her dishes yourself.” Jiang Shen immediately led Zhang Fei [5] and Feng Xishui into the residence.

In the kitchen, they could see a woman in her fifties cooking with a cheerful expression while whistling a tune, indicating her love for cooking. There were already several dishes on the table, but she was still cooking so many other dishes.

”Grandma Wan.” Wan Xueyuan turned her head to Jiang Shen before raising an eyebrow at the presence of Zhang Fei [5] and Feng Xishui. ”This kid wants to open a restaurant in our realm, and heʼs looking for the best chef, so I brought him to you.”

”Little Jiang, you know I do not cook for business, so you can take him somewhere else.” Wan Xueyuan refused.

”Grandma—”

”Are you satisfied with the quality of your cooking, Senior?” Zhang Fei [5] used his Qi to take a bit of one of the dishes and eat it directly, making Wan Xueyuan frown. ”As expected, this dish has an aroma that arouses appetite, but the taste is completely bland. If I sell these dishes in my restaurant, the diners will definitely not be interested in eating them.”

”Are you looking down on me, little brat?” Wan Xueyuan inquired, her tone filled with anger.

”A chef who canʼt take complaints will never be a successful chef.” Zhang Fei [5] summoned Zhang Chen out of the training space, surprising them, including Feng Xishui. ”Grandma, this senior thinks that her dishes are the best, so I want you to prove to her that her dishes are nothing compared to yours.”

”Feiʼer, you shouldnʼt talk like that about this senior.” Zhang Chen then spoke to Wan Xueyuan. ”Please forgive my grandson, Senior. He is indeed too outspoken, so donʼt take his words to heart.”

Wan Xueyuan simply nodded and asked. ”Are you a chef?”

”Not really.” Zhang Chen replied by shaking her head. ”I usually cook for my family, and all of them really like my cooking.”

”Your grandson said that my dishes are nothing compared to yours, so I want you to prove it to me.” Wan Xueyuan pointed to the kitchen side. ”All the ingredients are available there, and you can use them however you like.”

Instead, Zhang Chen took out some beast meat and spices from her storage ring, confusing Wan Xueyuan. ”My dishes are different from the dishes available in all cultivator realms, so I will use my ingredients.”

”Itʼs up to you, and I just want you to prove your grandsonʼs words.” Wan Xueyuan continued cooking while waiting for Zhang Chen.

Zhang Chen glared at Zhang Fei [5], who responded with a smile. She could only sigh and start preparing to cook a dish.

In less than an hour, Zhang Chen had finished her dish. Wan Xueyuan, Jiang Shen, and Feng Xishui could smell an aroma that was much more tempting than the aroma of the dishes already on the table.

”Please taste my dish, Senior.”

Wan Xueyuan immediately picked up the chopsticks and tasted Zhang Chenʼs dish, and her expression changed several times as she enjoyed it. Jiang Shen and Feng Xishui, who were curious about the dish, also tasted it.

”Delicious!” Jiang Shen exclaimed quite loudly. ”Grandma Wan, her dish is much tastier and richer than yours.”

Since Feng Xishui had never tasted Wan Xueyuanʼs dishes, he decided to try one of them. However, the taste of Zhang Chenʼs dish had already affected his palate, making it unpleasant in his mouth. ”Your dish is too bland compared to hers, and her dish is really rich in flavor.”

Zhang Fei [5] smiled triumphantly at Wan Xueyuanʼs expression, but Zhang Chen immediately pinched his waist. ”Ouch! Stop it, Grandma!”

”Donʼt have to pretend in front of me.” Zhang Chen said with a sharp look.

”Haha.” Zhang Fei [5] laughed and embraced his grandmother. ”Do you still feel that I underestimate you, Senior? My grandmotherʼs dishes are the most delicious, and we already have many restaurants in two different realms; even diners are willing to queue to eat our dishes. If you are willing to help me at the restaurant that I will open in this realm, she will help you to improve your cooking skills. Additionally, I can help you to reach a higher level in cultivation, and you can live longer to improve your cooking skills.”

Jiang Shen directly spoke to Wan Xueyuan. ”Grandma, this kid is a king-rank alchemist, and I have witnessed his alchemy skills and pills firsthand. He has already taken over the Alchemy Union from the hands of Huoyun Zhiyan and the others, and he will open an alchemy shop in our realm soon.”

”Are you for real?” Wu Xueyuan asked in disbelief.

Jiang Shen nodded to her. ”I donʼt need to lie to you, right? In fact, I have already decided to join his organization, but I have to wait for Ji Changlanʼs decision first. Moreover, you have tasted his grandmotherʼs dish, and her dish is much better than yours. Therefore, you donʼt need to hesitate to join him anymore, and you will get many benefits by joining him, especially in the culinary field.”

”Grandma, I will go look for a building for my shop and restaurant in this realm, so I want you to stay here and chat with this senior.” After Zhang Chen agreed, Zhang Fei [5] and Jiang Shen left Wu Xueyuanʼs residence.

However, Feng Xishu decided to stay at Wan Xueyuanʼs residence because Zhang Fei [5] did not need protection, allowing him to protect Zhang Chen while he was away.

Wu Xueyuan released a soft sigh before finishing Zhang Chenʼs dish, and she enjoyed the rich flavors in it so much. ”How can you cook such delicious dishes? Youʼre only in your seventies, but you managed to beat me in cooking with my thousands of years of experience.”

”Senior, I cook my dishes using various kinds of spices, which are never used by cultivators.” Zhang Chen showed her spices to Wan Xueyuan and explained their respective uses. ”If you use them in your cooking, you will get a much richer flavor. However, we must use them carefully, as each spice possesses unique characteristics and flavors that could ruin the taste of our dishes. We deliberately do not sell these spices so no other restaurant can compete with our restaurant, and as a result, diners always come and queue at our restaurant every day.”

Wu Xueyuan then called someone to pick up all the dishes she had prepared earlier. ”I usually cook for children who no longer have parents and families, so I refuse your grandchildrenʼs wishes.”

”I see.” Zhang Chen nodded in understanding. ”Actually, you donʼt have to worry about that, Senior. Feiʼer wonʼt mind if you continue with your usual activities, and he will send some people to assist you if youʼre willing to join us. Moreover, he always helps the people in his organization to improve themselves, which will benefit you greatly.”

”If I leave those children, they will surely starve to death, especially since they have no one to take care of them. As long as your grandchildren wonʼt forbid me from doing my usual activities for them, I have no problem joining him.” Wu Xueyuan then took Zhang Chen back to the kitchen. ”Please teach me about your spices and dishes.”

”Sure.”

Meanwhile, Jiang Shen brought Zhang Fei [5] to a two-story building as per his request, which was located in the center of the city. ”How much is this building?”

”Two million blue jewels.”

Zhang Fei [5] immediately took out that amount of blue jewels and handed them to Jiang Shen. ”I need some people to renovate this building.”

”I will prepare them for you.” Jiang Shen contacted one of his subordinates to bring some other people to meet them. ”Theyʼll be here soon.”

”I have other matters, so I will explain my wishes regarding this building to you, and you can order the people accordingly.” Zhang Fei [5] took Jiang Shen to look around the inside of the building while explaining everything to him.

After Jiang Shen understood his wishes, Zhang Fei [5] gave him several blue jewels to pay those people and buy materials for the renovation. Since Feng Xishui protected his grandmother, he immediately left the building and went to Earth, especially since he needed modern kitchen equipment for his new restaurant.

Upon his arrival on Earth, Zhang Fei [5] immediately met Huang Rong at their company. She informed him that their new shop in America had been open for some time, and she handed over the affairs of the shop there to her trusted people.

Huang Rong contacted several people and asked them to buy modern kitchen equipment according to Zhang Fei [5]ʼs wishes. ”Everything will be ready in a day, and you can pick them up at the warehouse as usual. Are you going to take us to the Nine Stars Realm today? My daughter and the others canʼt wait to move there.”

”Have you guys packed your personal belongings?” Huang Rong nodded to Zhang Fei [5]. ”Actually, my real body is still in isolation in the training space now, so I will send you all there. For all matters here, just check in periodically, and my slaves will watch those people.”

”Iʼll contact Luʼer and the others now so they can prepare themselves, and you wonʼt have to wait for them too long.” Huang Rong immediately contacted Yang Luʼer and the other five women.

[Master, do you really not want to turn them into cultivators?] Mei suddenly asked.

Back then, Zhang Fei [5] only regarded Huang Rong and the others as sex partners, but they had always helped him with his affairs on Earth, which made him unwilling to let them go. Unfortunately, turning them into cultivators was extremely difficult, especially since they were born without cultivation veins. He could look for cultivation veins for them, but the process was not easy either, and they were not necessarily compatible with their bodies.

Zhang Fei [5] wanted to turn them into demons, and they would have a longer lifespan, giving him plenty of time to find the right cultivation veins for them. Unfortunately, Huang Rong and the others refused, and they would rather die of old age than become demons.

[Master, if they are not willing to become demons, I think you can turn them into beasts.]
