Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 24: Liu Hua

Swamp Forest Outer Area

In the outermost part of the swamp forest, two young women sat on a boulder, waiting anxiously, and their eyes were fixed on the depths of the swamp forest.

They were none other than Chu Qing and Chu Ying, and Chu Qing clasped her hands tightly as she inwardly muttered. ʼDid you manage to save Mom, Qiao (Zhang Fei)? I hope you two are doing well in there.ʼ

”Sigh, you should go home, Qingʼer. Iʼll go inside again to find Mom.” Chu Ying said as she rose from her seat.

Chu Qing, on the other hand, grabbed her hand and said. ”You canʼt go inside, Big Sis. If those bad guys find us, then weʼll be used as hostages to capture our mom.”

”But-” Chu Ying did not continue speaking, but then she realized that Zhang Fei was not with them. ”Whereʼs the little fox, Qingʼer?”

”He... He went to save our mom.” Chu Qing anxiously replied.

Chu Ying raised her eyebrows; she felt that it was impossible because Zhang Feiʼs cultivation was far below hers, but her sister never lied to her, so she asked curiously. ”How did you know that he went to save our mom, Qingʼer?”

Chu Qing sighed softly, then she explained. ”I donʼt know how he did it, but Qiao spoke to me in my mind directly, and before I could ask him, he just disappeared like that.”

”Huh!?” Chu Ying was dumbfounded to hear that, as it should be impossible for a newborn beast to be able to do such a thing since it has yet to awaken its power.

But alas, they donʼt know Zhang Feiʼs true identity, and it is they themselves who think of him as a newborn beast.

”So we should just wait here, Big Sis.” Chu Qing said as she pulled her big sister down to sit down again. ”I donʼt know why, but I feel confident that he can save our mom.”

Chu Ying inwardly sighed, then she sat back down beside her little sister, and they waited for Zhang Fei as well as their mom. In her heart, she wondered. ʼIs it possible that the man from last night is the little fox? If he is really the little fox, does that mean my dream is real?ʼ

Inside the cave

When Zhang Fei brought Liu Qingyu and the puppet woman into the cave, there were three Python-Tailed Tigers: one adult female tiger and two newborn tiger cubs.

But the condition of the adult female tiger was pitiful, her body was covered in many wounds, and her breath was already so weak.

Zhang Fei then walked over to the adult female tiger and crouched down beside her. ʼCan we save her, Mei?ʼ

[Master, itʼs too late; she will surely die soon; her body is already too weak. She had been badly injured, and it had gotten worse because she had given birth to her cubs.] Mei replied sadly, especially since the two tiger cubs were still newborns.

The female tiger let out a low roar, then she shifted her two newborn cubs in front of Zhang Fei, and the look in her eyes showed that she was begging him to take care of them.

Liu Qingyu, who was standing behind Zhang Fei, already knew that the female tiger would die soon. Even though she had come to the swamp forest to hunt it down, as a woman, the situation of the female tiger made her heart ache, especially after she saw the two newborn cubs.

(A/N: In the old novel, someone said that this was hypocrisy, if you consider such a situation hypocrisy, then that means you are heartless.)

After that, Zhang Fei rubbed the female tigerʼs head and said. ”You can rest in peace; I will take care of your two newborn cubs.”

Hearing his words, the female tiger let out a low, grateful roar, and a few moments later she died.

”Sigh, be it human or beast, our lives are fragile.” Zhang Fei said with a low sigh, then he used his Fire Qi, and burned her corpse.

Liu Qingyu, who had been silent all this time, decided to ask. ”Can you tell me who you really are? And what is your connection to Qingʼer?”

Zhang Fei then stood facing her; he looked at Liu Qingyu with a smile, then held her chin, and kissed her lips directly.

Liu Qingyu was shocked by his action, but due to an impulse from within her, she was unable to resist his kiss, and she returned his kiss right away, as she wrapped her arms around Zhang Feiʼs neck. ʼWhat exactly happened to me? Why canʼt I refuse him? And I enjoyed kissing him instead.ʼ

They continued kissing passionately for a few minutes, and just as they were finding it hard to breathe, Zhang Fei separated their lips, and he caressed Liu Qingyuʼs red cheeks.

*Badump*

Zhang Feiʼs attitude made Liu Qingyuʼs heart pound hard, and she blushed brightly, as she continued to stare at him affectionately.

He smiled at her reaction, then introduced himself. ”My name is Zhang Fei, and I am the little white fox that you gave the Bone Strengthening Pill this morning.”

”Huh!?” Lin Qingyu was in shock, her face turning even redder when she found out Zhang Feiʼs other identity because he had already seen her naked body, and she stuttered. ”Are... are you really that little white fox? Then... then what was your purpose in sneaking into my family?”

*Flick*

Liu Qingyu rubbed her forehead, which was flicked by Zhang Fei, and he chuckled lightly. ”Actually, I had no intention of sneaking into your family, Qingyu. To be honest, Iʼm not a resident of this Sky Jade Realm, so I donʼt know you or your family at all. But for one reason or another, I appeared in your familyʼs bathing pool.”

Liu Qingyu was stunned for a moment, then she asked again. ”Did you come from another realm? Iʼve read ancient records before, and they said that there are many other realms in this universe.”

”En, I do come from another realm.” Zhang Fei said with a nod, then he said with a mysterious smile. ”Even though at first I didnʼt have any purpose towards your family, but now I have a purpose towards you guys.”

”Hmm?” Liu Qingyu raised her eyebrows upon hearing that, but she didnʼt feel any malicious intention from him. ”What is your purpose towards us, Zhang Fei?”

Zhang Fei pulled Liu Qingyu into his arms; it made her heart pound even harder as his scent intoxicated her, and he then whispered to her.

Liu Qingyu immediately looked at him in shock; she couldnʼt believe what she just heard. Strangely, she didnʼt intend to curse Zhang Fei but instead looked with hope at him.

Zhang Fei laughed softly, then he turned to the woman puppet and asked. ”Do you recognize her, Qingyu?”

”En, I do know her, Zhang Fei.” Liu Qingyu nodded. ”She is Liu Hua, and she is my little sister, but several years ago she was caught by Pang Hong; since then she has become his puppet, and he has used her to attack me and my family many times.”

Zhang Fei nodded in understanding. ʼCan you remove Pang Hongʼs control over her, Mei?ʼ

Mei answered with a laugh. [Thatʼs simple, Master. As long as you both are connected as one, then I can remove that manʼs control over her.]

Zhang Fei choked on Meiʼs words, but he also didnʼt reject her idea, because Liu Hua was also very beautiful. Then he said to Liu Qingyu. ”Anyway, I can remove Pang Hongʼs control on her, Qingyu.”
