Chapter 2447: Chapter 2447: Red-Clothed Killing Star

In the Yama Palace, the ranks of Killing Stars are primarily divided into three levels, with the Red-cloaked Killing Stars being the highest level. Below the Red-cloaked Killing Stars, there are the Yellow Robed Killing Stars and Blue-clothed Killing Stars.

Above the Red-cloaked Killing Stars is the Palace Master of Yama Palace.

Cultivators at the gate of Hongmeng City can immediately identify the five Red-cloaked Killing Stars, not merely because of their red robes. On their robes, there is also a very conspicuous symbol, a black skull insignia located at the chest.

In one Heavenly Domain, even the Yama Palace couldn’t impose restrictions on countless cultivators wearing red, yellow, and blue robes, but if you have the skull emblem of Yama Palace on the chest of your robe, then you are suspected of impersonating a Killing Star of Yama Palace. In this Heavenly Domain, there aren’t many who have the guts to impersonate a Killing Star of Yama Palace—that’s simply a death wish.

When people saw five Red-cloaked Killing Stars entering Hongmeng City, they knew something major was about to happen here. Some cultivators planning to enter the city changed their minds, halting their steps, intending to watch the situation from outside the city. If the Red-cloaked Killing Stars are really targeting Hongmeng City, they wouldn’t want to enter the city and be caught in the crossfire.

The fearsome reputation of the Red-cloaked Killing Stars shakes Kunling Heaven.

The five Red-cloaked Killing Stars from Yama Palace entered Hongmeng City without immediately causing a huge disturbance; they seemed to follow some traces, approaching the tavern where two cultivators in light purple robes resided.

They seemed to have a special ability to track their prey, this ability might be a special spell or perhaps a unique magic treasure. In any case, they didn’t take much time at all to locate the unassuming tavern where their prey was hiding.

As they traversed the street, although not intentionally causing a big commotion, the cultivators in the city clearly knew about Yama Palace. Cultivators and adventurers who saw the five Red-cloaked Killing Stars were eager to avoid them.

The captain and vice-captain of the city’s Guard in Hongmeng City quickly understood the situation as well.

What do the people of Yama Palace intend to do?

Shi Tianshuo and a few others gathered together, realizing the gravity of the situation—the Red-cloaked Killing Stars of Yama Palace were not something they could handle alone. Even if the entire Guard of Hongmeng City was dispatched, it would be to no avail. So they swiftly decided to report the matter to the City Lord.

Shi Tianshuo and company arrived at the City Lord Mansion to find out that City Lord Jing Yan was not inside. Shi Tianshuo then sent a message to Jing Yan, who instructed them to meet at the Hongmeng Pill Tower.

Soon thereafter, Shi Tianshuo and several captains and vice-captains arrived at the Hongmeng Pill Tower.

”Red-cloaked Killing Stars from Yama Palace?” Jing Yan furrowed his brow.

In Kunling Heaven, it is impossible not to know about the power of Yama Palace.

”Yes, five Red-cloaked Killing Stars,” Shi Tianshuo stated.

”City Lord, our people have been closely monitoring the movement of these five Red-cloaked Killing Stars. Up till now, they have not shown any hostility towards Hongmeng City. Judging from their walking trajectory, it seems they are not heading toward the City Lord Mansion. Our people are constantly surveilling them. However, given their strength, they must have noticed they’re being watched, but they did not attack our people or try to drive us away. They don’t appear to care at all,” Shi Tianshuo reported in detail.

”If there’s no special reason, then what are they doing in my Hongmeng City?” Jing Yan squinted his eyes.

”Certainly, their target is likely not Hongmeng City. The most likely scenario is that they are pursuing someone—or more than one person—who is currently in Hongmeng City,” Jing Yan analyzed.

”City Lord is wise!” Shi Tianshuo quickly responded with a flattering remark.

Jing Yan glanced at Shi Tianshuo.

”City Lord, what should we do next? If the target of the Red-cloaked Killing Stars’ hunt is inside the city, they might act once they find them. Should we... stop them?” Shi Tianshuo swiftly changed the subject and asked.

”Within Hongmeng City, the rule is that cultivators are forbidden to fight amongst themselves, it is the law!”

”Yama Palace cannot be an exception!”

”Continue to monitor them. If these individuals take action within Hongmeng City, inform me immediately. The Red-cloaked Killing Stars from Yama Palace are reportedly all at the Immortal Venerate Peak Realm—the Guard cannot stop them, and I will have to handle it personally,” Jing Yan stated slowly.

The Red-cloaked Killing Stars of Yama Palace are not numerous. Deploying five at once is quite a spectacle. And the strength of the Red-cloaked Killing Stars is indeed at the Immortal Venerate Peak Realm. Even if their realm is slightly lesser, they surely have other special means. Otherwise, they wouldn’t be able to wear the red robe.

Within Yama Palace, the red robe is an incredibly prestigious symbol.

”Yes!” Shi Tianshuo responded.

After that, a few people then departed for now.

”Captain, if the Red-cloaked Killing Stars actually take action, what will the City Lord do? Will they really fight against the Red-cloaked Killing Stars?” After leaving the Hongmeng Pill Tower, Weng Mohan glanced at Shi Tianshuo and asked.

”How would I know the thoughts of the City Lord?” Shi Tianshuo shook his head.

”If a fight does break out, then the problem will be huge,” Weng Mohan said with a bitter smile.

”The City Lord knows the power of the Red-cloaked Killing Stars; he won’t let us do the fighting,” explained the other two vice-captains with solemn expressions.

”Damn it, I wonder who’s drawn the Red-cloaked Killing Stars to our Hongmeng City!” Shi Tianshuo waved his arm.

...

”Jing Yan, if the Red-cloaked Killing Stars take action within the city, will you stop them?” Wuxia looked at Jing Yan and asked.

”Yama Palace is indeed something you don’t want to offend; they’re different from the Golden Toad Commerce and Eight Gods Pill Sect,” Jing Yan shook his head and said: ”If these Red-cloaked Killing Stars know their limits, I can help them within the bounds of reason. But if they act before communicating, then I can only step in to uphold the rules of Hongmeng City.”

Jing Yan’s meaning was simple: if the Red-cloaked Killing Stars contact him after finding their prey, he doesn’t necessarily have to be in opposition to the Red-cloaked Killing Stars—he can let the prey leave his city. Once outside Hongmeng City, it has nothing to do with him, Jing Yan. But if the Red-cloaked Killing Stars act without a word within the city, Jing Yan also cannot pretend he doesn’t know.

Moreover, if the Red-cloaked Killing Stars really act without saying anything, it indicates they don’t consider Jing Yan, this City Lord, significant at all. Jing Yan doesn’t mind teaching them a lesson.

”I heard that the Palace Master of Yama Palace is one of the five Heavenly Lords of Kunling Heaven,” Wuxia continued.

”Hmm, I’ve heard such rumors as well, and this rumor is likely true,” Jing Yan nodded, and with a cold laugh, he continued: ”That doesn’t mean much—the Eight Gods Pill Sect also has a Heavenly Lord backing them, doesn’t it? In this Heavenly Domain, without an Immortal Emperor appearing, Hongmeng City need not fear anyone.”

Jing Yan has this confidence!
