The Sword God of the Universe

Chapter 2406: Chapter 2406: Blood Moon Gang

Every city needs layer upon layer of formations for protection, especially in a chaotic place like Thunder Domain, where formations appear even more crucial.

In the location Jing Yan has chosen for city building, there are three large cities in the southeast, east, and north directions, and in the west, there is a perilous area. This perilous area is considered one of the four major danger zones in all of Kunling Heaven.

Back when Thunder Domain was strong, this perilous area was under its control, and cultivators from outside needed Thunder Domain’s permission to enter. Now that Thunder Domain is divided, the perilous area has been opened up. Many cultivators are here in Thunder Domain, and this perilous area plays a significant role in that. Inside this perilous area, there are many Ghost Pattern Beasts, some even at Immortal Venerable level, and their combat power generally rivals that of Immortal Venerable Peak Level cultivators. If these Ghost Pattern Beasts were to charge out, their destructive power would be immense.

The location Jing Yan chose for the city is tens of thousands of miles from the perilous area’s outer limits. If the Immortal Venerable level Ghost Pattern Beasts were to sprint at full speed, they might arrive in just half a cup of tea’s time. If this city has no formation defense, even if it isn’t ruined by cultivators, it might be destroyed by the Ghost Pattern Beasts.

Therefore, building a protection array is essential, and it’s necessary to arrange as many as possible.

”Alas, lacking manpower, indeed!” Jing Yan sighed helplessly.

Right now, there are only three of them, which results in slow construction speed.

”There should still be many original Thunder Domain members hidden in this area. But now, there’s no good way to gather them back together,” Jing Yan pondered internally.

He also thought about openly announcing for original Thunder Domain members to come find him, but could not determine how many hostile cultivators or forces there are in Thunder Domain against them. If he spread the message, it’s unclear what consequences that might bring, and he cannot predict them.

Thinking it over, he could only first build the city’s prototype and then slowly gather people. In the early stages, the progress will surely be very slow.

...

A month after Jing Yan and the other two began constructing the new city, finally, some cultivators noticed the changes here.

This was a group of cultivators, totaling more than ten people. The leader was a Peak of Immortal Rhythm Netherworld Realm cultivator, and among the rest, half were of Immortal Rhythm Level, while the other half were of ordinary Nether Sky Realm cultivation.

The ten plus cultivators observed for several days in a row.

”Boss, it’s confirmed, there are only three people there! Besides the three we saw, there are no other cultivators.” A cultivator of Immortal Charm Realm said to the Immortal Rhythm Peak leader.

They had seen that there seemed to be only three people busy in the city, but feared there might be hidden cultivators they hadn’t seen. After several days of observation, they confirmed that indeed, there were only three cultivators busy in the city under construction.

”Boss, what identity do these three have exactly? Are they really planning to build a city here?” Another Immortal Rhythm Level cultivator said with a puzzled expression.

Building a city deep in Thunder Domain is extremely challenging. Not only does it require astonishing resources, but also a sufficiently strong background to deter other forces, otherwise the city cannot be built.

”I’m not sure either! Anyway, I don’t recognize any of them. They all seem entirely unfamiliar.” The Immortal Rhythm Peak leader shook his head and said.

”Could they be from a major force?” Someone suggested.

”A major force? Seems unlikely. Although it’s not entirely certain yet, think about it, if a major force wanted to build a city here, how could they possibly send only three people? A major force would definitely dispatch a large number of cultivators together. Moreover, they would certainly notify nearby forces so that they know about this matter.” The leader squinted and smiled.

”Alright, we don’t need to guess blindly here. I’ve already asked Mr. Ru to investigate, let’s wait for Mr. Ru’s information.” The leader looked around at the group of more than ten cultivators and said.

This group of ten plus was a robber organization.

With Thunder Domain in chaos and the perilous area opened up, many cultivators were active here every day. Consequently, many robber organizations emerged. These robber organizations generally don’t have their own city, but they do have bases, at least temporary strongholds. Once they find prey, they immediately target it. Of course, these robbers are very cunning; although they are ruthless, they are not reckless.

Before making a move on prey, they conduct investigations first. If the prey they target is from a major force, and they judge they cannot provoke it, they decisively abandon pursuit. Not everyone in Thunder Domain is robable.

Jing Yan and the other two had become targets of this band of robbers.

These ten plus robbers didn’t dare to get too close to Jing Yan’s new city; they feared being discovered. If Jing Yan and the others were members of a major force, these robbers would avoid misunderstandings.

In fact, Jing Yan had already discovered these petty criminals a long time ago; he just couldn’t be bothered dealing with them. Building a city couldn’t remain unnoticed; even if he killed these ten plus cultivators, the result wouldn’t be different. So long as these ten remain non-interfering, Jing Yan couldn’t be bothered to kill them.

Three more days passed.

The leader, an Immortal Rhythm Peak cultivator, took out a Communication Magical Treasure, checked the information, and then his eyes lit up.

”Seems these three really aren’t members of any major force.” The Immortal Rhythm Peak leader said.

”Boss, what did Mr. Ru say?” a robber immediately asked.

”Mr. Ru sent people to investigate around those nearby cities. According to feedback, the forces controlling those cities don’t know about a new city being built here. If those three were from a major force, they would surely make contacts with those city forces, at least notifying one force.” The leader smiled.

”Boss, looks like... this time our Blood Moon Gang is going to strike it rich!” A robber’s eyes sparkled as he spoke.

”Indeed! Those three look incredibly wealthy! Just seeing the materials they used, the value is astonishing. They must have more resources on them. I guess they might have resources worth hundreds of billions of Black Crystal Stones?” Another robber licked his lips and said.

”Hmph, calm down!” The Immortal Rhythm Peak leader glared.

”Even if it’s a feast, don’t eat too hastily, lest you choke! Those three surely aren’t weak!” The leader squinted at the distant city.

He continued, ”I’ll send a message to big brother, asking him to send more brothers here!”
