Chapter 2426: Chapter 2426: Golden Toad Commerce’s Actions

The intelligence agency at the headquarters of the Golden Cicada Commerce is naturally extremely outstanding in capability. Superpowers such as these always put great emphasis on intelligence work.

It can be said that if a force does not have an outstanding intelligence agency, it is almost impossible for it to truly grow strong.

In the chaotic Kunling Heaven or even in relatively stable Heavenly Domains like Faro Heaven, intelligence work is given extremely important consideration by the various forces.

Gao Zhenjiang personally supervises the intelligence department of the headquarters, conducting a comprehensive investigation into the newly emerging Hongmeng City deep in the Thunder Domain. The first part of the investigation is determining when Jing Yan, the City Lord of Hongmeng City, entered the Thunder Domain.

The Thunder Domain is a place with intricate power dynamics, where the number of cultivators on the periphery is greater than in the deep areas. If Jing Yan entered the Thunder Domain via any random route, he would inevitably come into conflict with many forces within the domain, which would easily determine when he entered. However, if Jing Yan took one of the safer routes, it would still be easy, as there are more cultivators entering and exiting the Thunder Domain via safe routes, making it impossible for Jing Yan to go unnoticed. Moreover, it’s said that Jing Yan was not alone when Hongmeng City was founded—he had two helpers, making a total of three people.

The Golden Cicada Commerce headquarters quickly found some clues, and after following the leads, they discovered Tianji Trading House in Zixiao City about ten days later.

On this day, Elder Gao Zhenjiang once again came before the President.

”President, we’ve almost completed the investigation on Jing Yan,” Gao Zhenjiang said.

”What’s his background?” the President asked.

”This person arrived at Kunling Heaven not long ago by taking a Heavenly Domain Flying Boat through Tianji Trading House. As we had previously assessed, he is not a cultivator from Kunling Heaven,” Gao Zhenjiang said.

”Indeed, if he were from Kunling Heaven, we would have heard of him,” the President nodded.

”The news from Tianji Trading House is that Jing Yan comes from Faro Heaven,” Gao Zhenjiang continued reporting.

”Faro Heaven?”

”The overall strength of Faro Heaven is relatively weak. Since when did they have an Immortal Venerable Peak Practitioner? Is there an Immortal Venerable Peak in Faro Heaven by the name of Jing Yan?” The President frowned.

In the Mixed Element Immortal Domain, Faro Heaven is relatively weak, and there are fewer practitioners at the Immortal Venerable Peak Realm. The Golden Cicada Commerce has some knowledge of Faro Heaven’s Immortal Venerable Peak practitioners, and the President had no prior impression of the name Jing Yan.

”There is no more message from Tianji Trading House. They only mentioned that this person boarded the Heavenly Domain Flying Boat at the Outer Chaos Element Fortress of Faro Heaven. Additionally, this person is quite strong,” Gao Zhenjiang said.

”Hmph, is Tianji Trading House looking for more benefits?” the President coldly snorted.

”President, from what I’ve gathered, Tianji Trading House may not know much about this Jing Yan. Tianji Trading House only noticed the person when he boarded the Heavenly Domain Flying Boat. I think it’s possible that even if Tianji Trading House wants to gather more information about this person from Faro Heaven, it would take time. Even if the Heavenly Domain Flying Boat were to directly fly from Kunling Heaven to Faro Heaven, it would take over ten thousand years to reach.

”To investigate Jing Yan’s information more quickly in Faro Heaven, we would need to ask the Immortal Emperor to take action personally,” Gao Zhenjiang said while frowning.

Upon hearing Gao Zhenjiang’s words, the President nodded.

Ask the Immortal Emperor to take action? That’s obviously impossible!

Not to mention that Tianji Trading House itself does not have an Immortal Emperor; even if it did, it wouldn’t request personal assistance from the Immortal Emperor just to investigate a piece of information about an Immortal Venerable.

”President, Jing Yan wants us to send one trillion Black Crystal Stones to Hongmeng City within a month. One-third of the time has already passed. What are our plans for the next step?” Gao Zhenjiang raised his eyes to look at the President.

The President only pondered slightly before saying, ”Elder Zhenjiang, you will personally go. Since Jing Yan wants a compensation of one trillion Black Crystal Stones, we will give him one trillion Black Crystal Stones.”

”Hmm?” Gao Zhenjiang was slightly surprised.

Actually, he had considered several possible ways to handle this matter, and the most probable outcome was indeed to compensate the other party with one trillion Black Crystal Stones.

If left unattended, the cities of the Golden Cicada Commerce in the Thunder Domain could be further destroyed by Jing Yan, resulting in even greater resource losses and damage to their reputation. Moreover, sending more powerhouses to guard the cities belonging to the Golden Cicada Commerce in the Thunder Domain, or directly sending powerhouses to destroy Hongmeng City deep in the Thunder Domain, is also very difficult. Recently, although Golden Cicada Commerce hasn’t gone to war with other superpowers, however...

Only the high-level members inside Golden Cicada Commerce know that it is currently engaged in a rivalry with another superpower. On the surface, it seems calm, but a great war could break out at any moment. Once it does, it will be a full-scale conflict. Considering the current situation, the headquarters of Golden Cicada Commerce cannot dispatch too much elite force to the depth of the Thunder Domain.

”Elder Zhenjiang, this time when you go, you need to bring along enough Black Crystal Stones and basic resources. Didn’t Jing Yan want to liquidate Divine Soul Items?” The President’s eyes glinted momentarily.

”I understand! President, I shall go prepare. I will set off to the Thunder Domain in three days.” Gao Zhenjiang cupped his hands and then withdrew.

Three days later, Gao Zhenjiang headed to the Thunder Domain with a staggering amount of Black Crystal Stones.

Meanwhile, in the Thunder Domain, construction in Hongmeng City continues orderly. Jing Yan is still delving into the Alchemy Dao; now, he’s able to refine various special Immortal Pills. The one he’s currently researching is a High Grade Immortal Pill that even Immortal Venerable Realm practitioners desire. Once this pill is refined, Hongmeng City’s Pill Tower can prepare to open for business.

Numerous forces in the Thunder Domain, too, have their eyes fixed on Hongmeng City. Many people are waiting to see Golden Cicada Commerce’s reaction.

Especially the two cities close to Hongmeng City: Windward City and Tianji City. The City Lords of these two cities have sent out numerous spies to collect intelligence. More than ten days ago, they reported the Mystic Underworld City incident to their headquarters, but no response has been received yet. The superpowers behind these two cities are also undoubtedly investigating Jing Yan’s identity. The capabilities of superpower headquarters in gathering intelligence are, of course, incomparable to those of the internal intelligence departments of Windward City and Tianji City. At this time, these superpower headquarter may have also gathered roughly the same information as the Golden Cicada Commerce.

The City Lords of Tianji City and Windward City received news shortly after Elder Gao Zhenjiang of Golden Cicada Commerce entered the Thunder Domain. Gao Zhenjiang did not disguise his actions, so spies easily discovered his movements.

Gao Zhenjiang holds a high position at the headquarters of Golden Cicada Commerce. His personal visit naturally draws attention from many forces, all eager to see what this elder of Golden Cicada Commerce intends to do.
