Chapter 2422: Chapter 2422: Spreading Hongmeng City

Ru Li’s heart was pounding!

This is Mystic Underworld City, the Mystic Underworld City belonging to the Golden Toad Commerce!

Before, when Ru Li was in the Blood Moon Gang, even though the gang engaged in looting, they never dared to provoke a city like Mystic Underworld City, which had an extremely strong background.

But now, Lord Jing Yan seems intent on causing chaos in Mystic Underworld City. Without any warning, Lord Jing Yan killed Quan Guangzhen, the president of the auction house.

Ru Li was a bit worried about the Golden Cicada Commerce’s retaliation yet felt exhilarated and very pleased.

...

”Everyone in the auction house, leave immediately! Within the time span of ten breaths, everyone in the auction house should exit.”

Jing Yan’s aura slightly condensed as he opened his mouth to speak. Jing Yan’s voice echoed throughout the auction house, audible to every cultivator inside.

”What’s going on?”

”What happened?”

”Who is the speaker, and why are we being asked to leave the auction house?”

The cultivators were still unclear about what had transpired.

”Could it be that someone is causing trouble in the Mystic Underworld City auction house? Earlier, I saw many guards rushing upstairs.”

”Hmm, it’s possible that someone is causing trouble. But, who could this person be? What a bold move, causing trouble at the Golden Toad Commerce auction house. Are they courting death?”

The cultivators were discussing amongst themselves, but only a few left the auction house.

Until...

They saw guards frantically rushing down from the auction house’s upper levels, each with a panic-stricken expression and eyes full of terror. Ignoring the cultivators’ intercepting inquiries, they charged straight ahead and soon disappeared towards the auction house entrance.

”Something really happened!”

”Major trouble! It seems this person is formidable; even the auction house guards couldn’t handle it.”

”We better leave here first! Otherwise... we’re afraid we’ll get caught in the fallout.”

The cultivators also began moving outside. With the guards fleeing, if they still didn’t sense the danger of remaining there, they were clearly lacking sense.

Jing Yan and Ru Li quickly exited the auction house too. However, Jing Yan didn’t leave immediately. He watched the auction house entrance, ensuring most people had left. When no more people were emerging, his eyes slightly narrowed, and he casually struck out with a palm.

A massive palm seal appeared out of nowhere, suddenly descending toward the auction house.

”Boom!”

After a series of intense booms, the Mystic Underworld City auction house was reduced to rubble. Although the auction house was protected by formations, they were insignificant against Jing Yan’s power, collapsing almost instantly.

On the street, numerous cultivators stood dumbfounded, completely stunned. The Mystic Underworld City auction house, part of the Golden Toad Commerce, was destroyed just like that?

Who could it be with such audacity? Could it be... some superpower is going to war with the Golden Toad Commerce? But, recently it seems there hasn’t been news of the Golden Toad Commerce at war with any superpower?

After the auction house turned to rubble, the Mystic Underworld City guard arrived. The city guard, with overall strength much higher than the auction house guards, surrounded the auction ruins. The guard leader was at the Immortal Charm Peak Level realm. Upon arrival, this guard encircled the shattered auction house.

”Daoists!”

Jing Yan lightly utilized Divine Power, his body slowly floating up, as he looked around and spoke.

The nearby cultivators turned their eyes to Jing Yan, some speculating if this man was behind the destruction of the Mystic Underworld City auction house.

”I am Jing Yan, the City Lord of Hongmeng City.” Jing Yan introduced himself.

”Hongmeng City?”

”I haven’t heard of that. Who knows which superpower Hongmeng City belongs to?”

”No idea, there’s no city named Hongmeng in this vicinity.” The cultivators commented.

”Daoists, Hongmeng City is a million miles from Mystic Underworld City. Hongmeng City hasn’t been established for long, so maybe you haven’t heard of it.” Jing Yan continued.

”A million miles north of Mystic Underworld City? Isn’t that the Red Victory Secret Land?” Someone frowned and said.

”A newly established city? Tsk tsk, who exactly is this person daring to establish a city deep within the Thunder Domain?” Someone remarked, looking at Jing Yan’s youthful appearance with some disdain.

”Daoists, Hongmeng City is over ten thousand miles west of the Red Victory Secret Land.”

”I’m the one who destroyed the auction house.”

”As for why I destroyed this auction house, I need to explain. My Hongmeng City’s Supervisor Ru Li brought treasures to sell at this auction house, but the auction house president Quan Guangzhen was tempted and, using despicable means, seized Supervisor Ru Li’s treasures and imprisoned him, torturing him.” Jing Yan slowly explained.

A battered Ru Li floated up alongside, allowing everyone to better see him.

”Daoists, I am Ru Li of Hongmeng City. Here stands our city lord, Lord Jing Yan, who spoke the truth. If not for the lord’s rescue, I would still be trapped inside this auction house. You can see the wounds on my body; they were inflicted by them during torture,” Ru Li pointed at his numerous injuries and said.

”He really is Ru Li.”

”But... wasn’t Ru Li the Blood Moon Gang’s Think Tank? How come he’s the Supervisor of Hongmeng City?”

”That’s Ru Li, I know him!”

Ru Li spent millions of years in the Blood Moon Gang, knowing many people. Furthermore, Ru Li’s frequent activities in nearby cities meant he had even more contacts.

Of course, these people wouldn’t easily believe everything Jing Yan and Ru Li said. Most remained skeptical. Yet Jing Yan didn’t continue explaining; he merely wanted to share his reasons for acting, making everyone aware, and to publicize Hongmeng City’s existence.

”Ru Li, let’s go for a visit to the City Lord Mansion,” Jing Yan said.

This matter isn’t over, as those twenty Divine Soul Items remain with City Lord Mei Li. City Lord Mei Li surely knows about the auction house’s incident but hasn’t shown up yet. Jing Yan decided to head directly to the City Lord Mansion to find Mei Li.

The two headed toward the Mystic Underworld City Lord Mansion.

”This City Lord Jing Yan is going to the Mystic Underworld City Lord Mansion?”

”Does he intend to attack the City Lord Mansion too?”

”Madness, pure madness, attacking the Mystic Underworld City Lord Mansion. Never mind its defenses, but City Lord Mei Li is an Immortal Venerable, reportedly at the Middle-stage realm.”

”Why bother about all that? Let’s go watch the spectacle.” The cultivators had eager eyes.

The guards encircling the auction house ruins did not obstruct Jing Yan and Ru Li, as their orders weren’t to attack these two.

The auction house was near the City Lord Mansion, so in no time, Jing Yan and Ru Li arrived outside the Mystic Underworld City Lord Mansion.

Inside the mansion, City Lord Mei Li’s expression fluctuated.
