Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 932: Chapter 933: Hidden Health Worries

Qi Taiguo was promoted to deputy battalion commander. As the saying goes, when the husband achieves success, the wife is honored, so Cheng Su, as his wife, naturally basked in the glory. Many people in the compound expressed their admiration and sought her favor.

In this compound, Qi Taiguo wasn’t the only deputy; there were others like Gao Linbing. However, their wives were not as envied as Cheng Su.

Why is that?

It all depended on Cheng Su herself. Besides having a husband who was a deputy battalion commander, she was impressive in her own right. She went to college, became a university graduate, and on top of that, she made her business thrive like a treasure pot. Truly talented and wealthy, with a husband as a deputy battalion commander, ask yourself, who could be more proud than her?

But they didn’t have children yet. If they produced a genius, they would truly be the ultimate winners in life.

So, in addition to admiration and currying favor, some people quietly regarded Cheng Su as a role model. Even if they couldn’t be as talented or wealthy, they could at least learn a little something!

These comments naturally reached Cheng Su’s ears, and she simply responded with a smile.

She achieved her current success through her own efforts and also by using the knowledge and insights gained from living a second life – what one might call legendary good fortune.

Therefore, there was no need to boast about it.

After attending the celebratory banquet with Qi Taiguo, life seemed to settle back down again, becoming busy yet fulfilling.

But when winter came, perhaps due to the physical toll of the past miscarriage, this year Cheng Su felt much colder than last year. Her hands and feet would not warm up unless she soaked them before bed, especially when sleeping alone.

Qi Taiguo was very concerned.

”How about going to the hospital to see a doctor for some treatment?” Qi Taiguo suggested as he soaked her feet in boiled ginger water. ”Last year, you weren’t this cold.”

Cheng Su also felt that she was weaker this year, clearly still recovering. She replied, ”Yeah, I’ll find some time to go see a doctor.”

”I’ll go with you,” Qi Taiguo immediately said.

Cheng Su smiled softly.

She wasn’t someone who avoided doctors. Since she had already told Qi Taiguo that they planned to have a child next year, she knew she had to carefully nurture her body, especially since she had been hurt before.

Seeing Qi Taiguo more worried than herself, Cheng Su said, ”Don’t worry, it’s just cold hands and feet. With proper treatment, it will get better. Even if it doesn’t, I’ve heard people say that giving birth transforms a person into new life. If you recuperate well during confinement, your body will recover.”

Unbeknownst to her, Qi Taiguo’s face turned pale.

”What’s wrong?”

”Transformation, giving birth is like stepping into the Ghost Gate...” Qi Taiguo murmured, raising his head in a daze. ”I-I’m scared.”

Cheng Su burst into laughter, feeling both amused and touched, and said, ”Aren’t you worrying too soon? My body hasn’t even recovered yet, let alone the fact that there’s no baby on the horizon yet!”

However, deep down, she felt a bit uneasy, as she wasn’t sure whether the process would go smoothly if she tried for a child again, given her past miscarriage.

Thinking this, her smile faded slightly.

Qi Taiguo seemed to know what she was thinking, and he grabbed her hand, saying, ”Let’s not rush. Let’s first stabilize your health. Once the doctor gives the green light, then we’ll try. I think starting to prepare after next summer would be good. By that time, your health should be much better, don’t you think?”

Cheng Su smiled and nodded. With that in mind, she should indeed go see a doctor soon to check her pulse and get some traditional Chinese medicine to help recuperate.
