Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 919: Chapter 920: Ruined Future

After the grief, Liu Li still chose to go to the hospital. It was her only option, but she asked Chen Shouwang to accompany her one last time.

Chen Shouwang breathed a sigh of relief and did not refuse. After all, it was the last bit of responsibility he could manage.

Yet, someone saw Chen Shouwang accompanying Liu Li to the hospital for an abortion, and this incident quickly spread throughout the compound. The rumors of Chen Shouwang’s messy relationships had a deep impact.

Cheng Su learned of the news and immediately informed Hualing.

Hualing was stunned for a moment, then said, ”He brought this on himself. I can’t be bothered if he dies,” and hung up the phone.

Cheng Su sighed. It seemed that anger was hard to dispel.

The rumors spread more fiercely, causing severe repercussions. Related leaders had already approached Chen Shouwang for a talk and temporarily suspended him for investigation, requiring him to write a self-defense report.

Qi Taiguo, who was in the military, received the news first and was extremely disappointed in Chen Shouwang.

”...I think his brain must have been kicked by a donkey. At such a critical moment, the peak of his career, he still gets entangled with that woman?” Qi Taiguo sneered, ”I think he’s itching to strip off that uniform.”

”That side has a child on the way, and he’s not taking care of it, can it work?” Cheng Su sneered as well, ”I say, even if he does take it off, it’s no loss. Does someone like him still deserve to wear a uniform?”

In her view, Chen Shouwang’s character was lacking. After such a vile act, he didn’t deserve to be a soldier anymore.

Poor two women!

Qi Taiguo said, ”Now that the incident has blown up, even if he doesn’t want to take it off, the choice isn’t his. We’ll see what the investigation results show. Even if he doesn’t get stripped, he’ll surely face demotion and disciplinary actions. His career is over.”

Cheng Su understood.

With such a stain, he wouldn’t have a chance for promotion in the future. To keep his current position would be lucky, and if heavier, he’d be expelled.

Now it all depends on the investigation results.

”He climbed to his position out of the countryside after so many years, and now with one mistake, he’s back to square one. Truly muddle-headed,” Qi Taiguo regretted a little.

Many soldiers work hard to accumulate military merits to rise up. It’s rare to even become a platoon leader or company commander. Chen Shouwang’s actions clearly ruined his future.

”Since he dared to do it, he should have the courage to face the consequences. Some people just need a hard lesson,” Cheng Su sneered.

Hualing was right. He brought this on himself, and it’s self-inflicted.

What surprised Cheng Su was that the woman named Liu Li claimed to the organization that they were just ordinary friends and that Chen Shouwang helped her out of duty.

And Chen Shouwang’s written apology also stated they were friends, but he neglected the military’s image, willing to accept disciplinary education from the superior organization.

Since the parties involved said this, the final outcome was demotion and disciplinary action, along with having to receive further education.

”This is too childish!” Cheng Su was full of disbelief and hurriedly asked Qi Taiguo.

Qi Taiguo said, ”It was Hualing’s parents who intervened, likely offering some benefit to that woman to keep quiet. I reckon Hualing’s parents don’t want her to get divorced. If there’s no divorce, they need to protect Chen Shouwang. But even so, his life will be this way, with little chance for future promotion.”

Cheng Su was speechless. It was too easy for that scumbag.

But looking at it from another angle, is it that many parents in this era can’t accept their children getting divorced?

So what about Hualing? Was she compromising for the sake of the child in her womb?
