”Y-Yes, boss!”

The two remaining cronies snapped out of their hesitation. They immediately pulled knives from their pockets and rushed toward Kyle together, their blades glinting beneath the streetlights.

”Cowards!”

Kyle retorted with a mixture of anger and disappointment as he raised his fists.

’Streets are never fucking fair, are they...’

Both men came at him simultaneously, one from the left and the other from the right. There was no realistic way for Kyle to stop both attacks at once, so he relied on his footwork instead, weaving between them in a zigzag pattern and constantly changing his position.

One blade slashed toward his shoulder.

Kyle twisted sideways, letting it pass just inches from his body, only for the second knife to immediately come sweeping toward his stomach. He stepped back, narrowly avoiding the blade before moving forward again, refusing to let either of them corner him.

’What the fuck is this fucker?!’

The crooked-faced bastard watched from behind, his expression becoming increasingly unsettled. He couldn’t understand what he was seeing. Kyle looked like nothing more than an average guy, yet he was somehow dodging the attacks of two armed men as if he could predict their movements.

And that wasn’t even the strangest part.

Every time Kyle touched one of them, something happened to their bodies.

The crooked bastard had no idea what kind of trick it was, but he knew one thing—he didn’t like it.

His broken wrist prevented him from joining the fight, leaving him with no choice but to watch and command the remaining cronies.

”Don’t let him get away! Surround him!”

Kyle suddenly noticed an opening.

’Now.’

He stepped inside the range of one of the attackers and caught his wrist.

*Touch*

The moment Kyle’s palm made contact, the muscles around the man’s wrist relaxed.

*Clink!*

The steel knife slipped from his fingers and struck the pavement.

”You bastard!”

The loss of movement in his wrist didn’t stop the man from attacking. He immediately swung his left fist at Kyle with all his strength.

Kyle’s eyes widened.

*BAM!*

The punch caught him in the chest.

”Khg! Fucker!”

Kyle staggered backward, barely managing to keep his balance. He had managed to turn his body enough to lessen the impact, but the punch still sent a sharp pain through his chest.

’That fucking hurt.’

Before he could properly recover, the other goon was already on him, knife raised and coming straight toward him.

Kyle’s pupils contracted.

”Fuck!”

There was no time to dodge properly.

If he moved too far, the blade would still catch him. If he backed away, he risked losing his footing.

So Kyle chose the option that would hurt the least.

*Grab!*

His hand shot forward and seized the man’s knife hand with all his strength.

The blade stopped only inches from his body, but the edge had already sliced across his palm.

*Drip*

Blood immediately began running down his hand.

”You will pay for this!” Kyle groaned through clenched teeth.

The goon tried to yank his arm back, but Kyle refused to let go. He couldn’t overpower the bastard through strength alone, so he used the only advantage he had.

*Touch*

Kyle pressed his other hand against the man’s wrist. The muscles around the joint suddenly relaxed and bastard’s fingers loosened causing his grip to open.

The knife dropped directly into Kyle’s wounded palm.

*Clink*

Blood continued dripping from his hand.

*Drip* *Drip*

Kyle stared at the blade for a fraction of a second.

He could use it and could end this.

’I would love to kill these bastards...’

His fingers tightened around the handle before he forced himself to release it.

’But this is Earth.’

Kyle dropped the knife onto the ground.

He wasn’t going to throw away his life by killing someone, no matter how much these bastards deserved it. He didn’t have the power or influence to deal with the consequences, and getting himself arrested.

”You’re one fucking lucky bastard,” Kyle said, wiping the blood from his palm against his clothes.

”Because I’m a law-abiding citizen!”

The bastard’s expression twisted with rage.

Kyle didn’t give him a chance to recover.

*Touch*

He grabbed both of the goon’s wrists and suddenly pulled him toward himself.

The bastard barely had time to understand what was happening.

Kyle slammed his forehead straight into his face.

*BAM!*

*THUD!*

The man’s body went limp instantly and collapsed onto the pavement.

Kyle staggered backward, rubbing his forehead.

’...What the fuck was his skull made out of? Fucking titanium?’

The headbutt had knocked the bastard unconscious, but Kyle had taken some recoil from it as well. His vision blurred for a moment, and the world seemed to spin around him.

’That was a fucking stupid move...’

’...But it worked.’

Kyle shook his head, trying to clear his vision.

That was when he made another mistake.

He didn’t notice the crooked-faced bastard moving behind him.

*Step*

*Choke!*

”Got you, fucking bastard!”

An arm suddenly wrapped around Kyle’s neck from behind.

”KUGH—!”

Kyle’s body jerked backward as the bastard locked him into a chokehold with his usable arm.

”That’s it!” he laughed, tightening his grip.

”You thought you were so fucking tough?”

Kyle immediately grabbed the arm around his neck and tried to pull it away.

Nothing.

He drove his elbow backward into the bastard’s ribs.

*SMASH!*

The man didn’t even budge.

”Fuck!”

Kyle struck him again.

*SMASH!*

Still nothing.

The bastard’s grip only tightened.

”You bastard, do you really think that will get you out of my hold?” he laughed, his voice filled with cockiness.

Kyle struggled desperately for air.

”Kugh...! Krrhhg...!”

His hands clawed at the arm around his throat, trying to create even the smallest gap. He twisted his body, kicked backward, tried to bite the bastard’s hand, and dug his fingernails into his arm.

Nothing worked.

This was completely different from when Kyle had fought him earlier in the store.

The others had been reckless and comparatively weak, but this bastard was different. He was taller than Kyle, heavier, and properly built, with considerably more muscle. His one usable arm was enough to keep Kyle locked in place.

’This bastard is strong.’

Kyle’s vision began to blur around the edges.

What the fuck am I supposed to do?!

He tried swinging backward again, but the bastard absorbed the blow without even loosening his hold.

”How pathetic.”

The crooked bastard laughed directly beside his ear.

”I was really thinking you were something after seeing you beat these bastards, but you’re nothing but a sack of shit!”

”These guys were just too weak!” He added.

Kyle’s breathing became increasingly difficult.

”Kughh...!”

The arm around his throat tightened further.

His lungs screamed for air as his strength began to drain.

Then the bastard leaned closer.

”Remember my name.”

Kyle’s eyes struggled to remain open.

”I’m Dylan.”

A vicious grin spread across his face.

”And whoever messes with me...”

His grip tightened one final time.

”...isn’t allowed to live another day.”
