The Dark Rebirth of Pandora: Revenge of the Abyss

Chapter 508: A Plan for a Potential Future

”What the hell was that?” I say, surprised by what just happened—the entire sea of Pandora’s consciousness has been isolated.

(H-Huh? What happened?) Tiny Pandora asks, frightened, and even the monster Pandora hidden in that one protected corner trembles, sensing that we’ve been cut off from the body.

’What the hell did Pandora do? Why were we isolated from the body?’ I try to access Pandora’s most recent memories. I was so busy trying to consume the whole sea of consciousness that I ignored the outside.

”C-Captured!! And by a powerful monster, no less?” I see that Pandora has been captured, and surprisingly, she came up with a brilliant idea—isolating her mind inside some kind of cocoon.

’I can’t see her...’ I can’t find Pandora. I don’t even know how this affected us, but we were also cut off from the body. It protects us, but it also prevents us from interacting with the outside.

’An exact copy of her mind, stripped only of the knowledge that she’s a copy and information she shouldn’t know... brilliant...’ I didn’t know Pandora could do this. Guess I got too distracted in here.

’But if Pandora’s plan is for the copy to gather information for her... what exactly will Pandora be doing isolated from the rest of the body?’ I’m genuinely curious.

There isn’t much information in the memories. You can tell it was kind of a last-minute thing, done just to save her mind from being controlled.

’I don’t know the level of this ”Mnemosyne,” but it’s clear she’s really strong... if Pandora adapts to her, she’ll make a huge leap in power... enough power to stop being humiliated in the Abyss...’ That’s good.

”Pandora really is insane. Such a crazy evolution plan is something only she would come up with.” She didn’t plan to escape—she planned to grow stronger. She really is an opportunist who uses everything to evolve.

”...” I look at one specific memory, a recent one, a memory filled with hatred—an immense hatred for Elysia, that so-called goddess of humans. Pandora directed her hatred toward her, harboring a deep loathing.

She blames her—for being summoned into this world, for being cowardly killed, and for threats. She sees Elysia as a real threat to her life, a threat she has to kill before she gets killed.

Although her hatred for Elysia is a different kind from the one she holds for the heroes. The hatred for the heroes was a burning, vengeful flame, but her hatred for Elysia is one of pure survival—like a predator encountering its greatest enemy, one that threatens its life.

And of course, part of that hatred is mainly because Elysia hurt our mother, the Goddess of the Abyss.

”Well, well, I’ve found out what happened. Now let’s get back to what we were doing.” I say, stepping on Tiny Pandora’s tail as she shrinks back. She’s been doing everything to delay my arrival at Pandora Monster.

...

...

...

”...You know, Pandora, you can just call me Mnemosyne.” I say to the Pandora in front of me, whose mouth is covered while tentacles hold her in place.

”Not that you can talk right now, but you know how it is, right? Don’t hate me for this. Survival is survival.” I say, stroking Pandora’s cheek. She attacks me with her tail, but my tentacle catches it.

’Strange... she seems... better than Azraelith...’ She’s weak, but the potential she shows is clearly greater.

’This is bad... with so much potential, she might find a way to break my control...’ I hold her cheeks with both hands, seeing her hateful gaze.

”[Soul Reading]” I use a magic skill, hoping it works, and luckily it activates, functioning and opening a system window.

[Soul Reading Complete:

Strongest Desires: According to Pandora’s soul, her greatest desires are to kill a specific Goddess, make her mother proud, grow stronger, learn more about herself, the Abyss, and her mother.

Hatred: Currently holds great hatred for Mnemosyne.

Fear: Rational. She has no psychological fear of you, but her body rationally fears you for being stronger. However, if she equals or surpasses you, she will try to kill you at the first opportunity.

Love: Loves her mother, her older sister... and her companions deeply.

Interests: Curious. Wants to know more about the Abyss, feels a strong connection to the place, and despite showing some aversion to the environment, she actually feels at home and free living in this environment where only the strongest reign.

Main Intent: Grow stronger.

Control: Low self-control. Being very young, she actually has low personal self-control.

Magic: High degree, constantly changing and adapting to the Abyss’s magical density.

Potential: Cannot be evaluated.

Weakness: None specific.

Intelligence: Extremely high, combined with high patience to wait for the perfect moment by analyzing minimal patterns for gains.]

”...” The evaluation is over, and I discovered several interesting things about her soul—information that will be useful.

”I see... you’re quite... young... yes, I think that word fits better. You never fully matured...” If she’s like this without having matured, then when she fully matures, she’ll be a terrifying monster.

”You know... I’m a monster that exploits desires a lot.” I stroke her cheek tenderly.

”I choose the best method to contain my prey... and then make them live in a small personal paradise... I’ve decided what to do with you.” She raises her gaze to my eyes, looking confused.

”You know what? Your gaze is quite curious... I’ll control your mind... but leaving you in an inert state wouldn’t be able to hold you for more than a few years... so I’ll give you part of your desires.” My fingers transform into small, viscous tentacles, staining her face.

She shudders, knowing exactly what I’ll do, but not how I’ll do it. My tentacles writhe gently on her face.

”I really like talking, you know? You said I monologue a lot... maybe I do... I like to boast, it’s fun.”

”Besides... when you talk too much, the enemy never knows how much is true and how much of the chatter is reliable...” It’s a tactic. Deceiving others’ brains is my specialty—that’s why I talk so much.

Not just talking, but excessive talk hinders others’ brains from actually paying attention to my rambling, and while I talk, I recite specific spells.

”When I’m done here, I’ll be your mommy... that’s the best method... I’ll use your sweet love for your mother to keep you on a leash. So, ’daughter,’ we’ll see each other in a few minutes.” She struggles when she hears this as my tentacles move across her face.

Two of them go to her ears, while two thinner ones enter through her nose. They secrete a potent anesthetic and lubricant as they invade. She thrashes as my tentacles invade her eardrums and follow the path into her brain.

”Uhuhuhuhu, you have such a complex brain. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a brain like this before.” Her brain is ”weird.” It’s extremely complex, divided into thousands of micro-parts. Normally, the brain is divided into three major parts.

But Pandora’s brain is divided into thousands of small parts, with none really large. This makes me spread my tentacles inside her head, filling the empty space of her skull with them.

She struggles madly now, her eyes rolling back as tears stream down—normal reactions considering I’m invading her head. Her body starts getting hot, so hot it begins to burn my tentacles.

”No, no, no, ’daughter,’ you can’t burn Mommy.” My tentacles release a large amount of a viscous liquid that drains all the heat. The liquid drips from her ears onto the floor as my tentacles connect to various areas of her brain.

”Urgh, so complex...” I almost touch something I shouldn’t, which would make her transform. Pandora starts releasing darkness around her, seeming to react, trying to stop me.

”...” I inject aphrodisiacs directly into her brain—a dose so potent it makes her brain freeze. Pandora’s brain is complex but has a ”flaw”: when overloaded, it freezes, processes everything slowly, and then releases again.

This makes her get ”stuck” when suffering sensory overload, like now, where her body stops moving or trying to defend itself. I look down, seeing her soaking the floor with her love juice.

”It’s sweet, right? I’m an expert in poisons, drugs, and potions. My aphrodisiac is so potent I once even managed to get the Goddess of the Abyss excited.” The tentacles in her nose release a powerful calming drug in gas form.

Pandora’s eyes go partially blank for a moment while I work on her brain, remapping everything to act as I want. The main change is what she will know as mother.

Pandora has great love for the Goddess of the Abyss, as well as an inability to betray her. So, if she sees me as her mother, she’ll be obedient. Of course, I make several other changes too.

”...” Her brain is now covered with my tentacles, sticking to every little corner. But while modifying her head, I find something strange.

’Her mind... what is that little thing?’ Entering her mind, I see several things, but there’s a small thing, like a little black ball, that I can’t access. It seems like some kind of cocoon in her mind, but when I try to touch it, Pandora reacts, and I realize I don’t have much time.

”Well, it probably doesn’t matter.” I need to finish quickly before she suffers severe mental damage and starts bleeding heavily. So, I speed up the process, tweaking her memories, leaving everything perfectly set for me.

”Great... this...” My fingers/tentacles separate from my hands, entering completely inside her head, staying there to maintain the information being sent to me.

I remove all the external tentacles holding Pandora, and she collapses on the floor, drooling and spasming.

”Well, I guess that was expected...” I take her hand and start dragging her. She’s not perfect yet. She’ll have memory lapses, and during those lapses, she’ll regain consciousness and control for brief moments before forgetting everything and thinking I’m her mother.

”I need to give her a trigger to always stay controlled... don’t worry, Pandora. I’ll feed you well and satisfy all your desires—even your questions. You can ask Mommy here anything you want, and I’ll answer.” I murmur excitedly about this. The more questions she asks, the more reliable I’ll become to her brain.

”Now... I need to hide you really well...” I know Echidna well, and I know Pandora is her favorite. If Echidna-sama finds out I captured Pandora, she might try to kill me.

Galaxy’s Note =

Hello Readers!!! Happy New Year!! I came here to give this notice because things got ”complicated,” and I’m here to simplify! As you can see, for some time in the next few Chapters, Pandora will be controlled by a tentacle monster! I thought a lot about whether I should add this scene or not.

In the end, I chose yes, to follow this path for a few reasons!! And I want to make it clear that Pandora won’t stay like this permanently or anything! What’s being controlled is the Pandora copy!! While the real Pandora will be training in the mental cocoon!! The Pandora copy and this tentacle girl will reveal quite a lot of interesting information about the Abyss!

That’s why we’ll have plenty of scenes of the two talking and interacting while learning more about the Abyss. Meanwhile, the real Pandora will create a new element from scratch! And this element will be relevant for the future! And maybe I’ll connect this to the fact that there are ”outsiders” from the universe!

Entities like the Stars that don’t originally belong to this universe but ended up living here without being expelled or killed! The Stars aren’t the only ones, and actually, you’ve partially seen one of these other ”visitors,” but it wasn’t clear that he was a ”visitor.”

Anyway, no spoilers! I just wanted to give this notice because I know some might find it strange that Pandora is being controlled! The reason I almost didn’t include the scene is that it seems a bit odd considering what we know about Pandora.

But in the end, I included it for many coherence reasons. The Abyss isn’t safe at all, as you’ve seen so far. It’s a place where the strongest survive, and the strongest does what they want. Pandora didn’t even stand a chance against the tentacle girl, so it’s not strange that she got caught.

I’ll also use the tentacle girl to try to explore a bit more about Pandora’s older sister, where Pandora will learn more about her through the tentacle girl.

Of course, with the tentacle girl, we’ll also learn more about Pandora’s body, the secrets about it, and things like how she was created—which is important, considering she’s the only race that can break the level limit! So, there are still big secrets related to that to be revealed, and what better way to reveal them about others’ bodies than through a tentacle monster?

Anyway, I think that’s it! I hope you’re enjoying it so far. Pandora’s development is a bit ”slow” in this Abyss arc, but it’s natural for some reasons!! We’ll also have more things about the goddesses appearing soon!!

Now, happy reading! And I hope you have patience with me. I’m developing this arc more slowly because it has a lot to show, and I don’t want to rush it too much and end up destroying the pacing of information relevance!! I wish a prosperous New Year to everyone! (Date of this message: 01/01/2026)
