Chapter 32: Chapter 31: So, You Lost Your Virginity in the End?

A mischievous smile played on Chen Yansen’s lips as he plopped down heavily beside Meng Jie, causing the soft mattress to sink instantly.

Meng Jie shot to her feet as if she’d been scalded.

”W-what are you trying to do?”

Meng Jie’s voice trembled as she stammered, her hands pressed firmly against Chen Yansen’s chest. She subtly shifted her feet, preparing to bolt at a moment’s notice.

”I just want to... get a good look at you. Don’t be nervous.”

Chen Yansen raised his hands and slowly rested them on Meng Jie’s waist. He made no further moves. Just as he’d said, he simply gazed at her with a gentle smile.

Meng Jie looked back at him. They were mere inches apart; she could clearly see her own reflection in his eyes.

The warmth of his breath brushed against the tip of her nose.

’Meng Jie, are you really not going to repeat the year? All because of Chen Yansen?’

’He’s definitely handsome. You can’t let him get away.’

’Xiaojie, I’m not against you dating in college. I only have one rule: whatever you do, don’t get involved with that Chen Yansen kid.’

The words of Zhou Xue and her father suddenly surfaced in Meng Jie’s mind.

But as she gazed at Chen Yansen’s face—his sharp brows and bright eyes, his high-bridged nose, his lips that seemed to be perpetually smiling—only one resolute thought remained in her mind: ’I’m going to date him!’

”I’ll walk you back to your dorm.”

Chen Yansen averted his gaze and spoke softly.

The hands that had been resting on her waist quietly withdrew as he spoke, leaving only a fleeting trace of warmth.

”I don’t want to go back.”

A pang of disappointment hit Meng Jie, and the words tumbled out before she could stop them.

”Oh? Then what do you want to do?”

Chen Yansen chuckled, shaking his head slightly.

”Bite you!”

The words had barely left her lips when she lunged forward like a kitten and bit down hard on Chen Yansen’s mouth.

’What the hell? Did I just get force-kissed by a little brat?’

Even the ever-calm and composed Chen Yansen was stunned. He felt deeply insulted, especially by her clumsy, inexperienced technique—her bite sent a sharp sting through his lip.

”Stop, stop, stop!”

Chen Yansen cupped her head and hastily pulled her back a few inches, then let out a long breath.

”Chen Yansen, what’s that supposed to mean?”

Meng Jie’s eyes flew open as she demanded aggressively.

”Your technique is terrible,” he said with a helpless sigh. ”You’ve got a lot to learn.”

”Learn what?”

Meng Jie’s brain seemed to buffer for a second. She didn’t react right away, asking dazedly.

But before Chen Yansen could answer, she saw his face drawing closer and closer, until she felt a strange sensation on her lips. Only then did she understand what he meant by ”a lot to learn.”

She didn’t know how much time had passed before a shrill ringing suddenly erupted.

”Shh! Don’t talk. It’s my dad.”

Feeling her phone vibrating in her pocket, Meng Jie snapped out of her daze. Once she saw the caller ID, she immediately shoved Chen Yansen away and whispered a cautious warning.

Chen Yansen licked his lips and gave a slight nod.

”Dad, are you home yet? I’m in my dorm room. My roommates all went out to eat, so it’s quiet right now.”

Meng Jie answered the call. Faced with her father’s questions, she had no choice but to brace herself and lie.

”Xiaojie, the dorm is like its own little community. You need to get along with your roommates. There’s a bag of snacks in your suitcase, remember to share it with them.”

Hearing this, Meng Zhen Country immediately grew worried and advised her with heartfelt concern.

All her roommates had gone out, but they hadn’t invited Meng Jie. He was naturally worried that his precious daughter was being ostracized.

”I know, I know. I’ll take care of myself. Please don’t worry.”

Meng Jie hurriedly agreed.

”And another thing. You must remember what I told you. Stay away from that Chen Yansen kid.”

Still not reassured, Meng Zhen Country repeated his warning.

”Yes, yes, of course. When I get a boyfriend, I’ll make sure he meets your standards. Dad, I’ve gotta go, I need to take a shower.”

Meng Jie shot Chen Yansen an awkward glance as she told another lie.

After she hung up, their eyes met, and they both burst out laughing.

”If you don’t head back to your dorm soon, you’ll have to share a bed with me.”

Chen Yansen took Meng Jie’s hand and pointed to her watch. The hour hand had already passed nine.

He had never intended for Meng Jie to stay the night. For one, he was afraid of scaring her. For another, he knew all too well how much gossip would follow if she didn’t return to her dorm on the first night of university.

Chen Yansen didn’t drive her back; instead, the two of them walked at a leisurely pace.

In the lush bushes, they could occasionally spot couples wrapped in each other’s arms, making out.

Meng Jie snuck a peek, a smile playing on her lips as some unknown thought crossed her mind.

”There are even more over by Pearl Lake. You’ll find a couple on practically every bench.”

Reading her mind, Chen Yansen described the scene with playful exaggeration.

”College really is different from high school.”

Meng Jie mused, a complex look in her eyes.

She knew that in high school, if a teacher caught you dating someone, you’d inevitably have your parents called in and be forced to write a self-criticism.

”Hi! Senior Brother Chen!”

A few underclassmen girls in short skirts, bathed in the dim yellow light of a streetlamp, suddenly recognized the guy across the way as Senior Brother Chen Yansen. They hurried forward with bright smiles to greet him.

”Huh? It’s Meng Jie! You know Senior Brother Chen, too?”

One of the girls let out a small gasp of surprise when she realized the girl beside Chen Yansen was Meng Jie.

But the most shocking thing was that Senior Brother Chen was holding Meng Jie’s hand!

Under her roommates’ stares, Meng Jie didn’t let go. Instead, she tightened her grip. That was just how she was: straightforward, brave, and bold.

”Hey, you guys.”

Chen Yansen replied with a small smile, then turned to Meng Jie. ”Are they your roommates?”

”Yes, yes! Senior Brother Chen, we’re all Meng Jie’s roommates.”

”So Senior Brother Chen already has a girlfriend. What a shame.”

”Meng Jie, is Senior Brother Chen walking you back to the dorm? He seems so sweet!”

The girls chattered excitedly, their eyes filled with curiosity as they looked Chen Yansen and Meng Jie up and down.

In their eyes, Meng Jie was like a tomboy with her neat, short hair and carefree personality. They’d seen the clothes in her suitcase—all T-shirts and jeans, without a single skirt.

What kind of magic did Meng Jie possess to be able to land Senior Brother Chen Yansen?

Or was it that Senior Brother Chen Yansen just happened to be into her type?

”Well, I’ll leave you here. I should get going, too.”

After chatting with them for a bit, Chen Yansen said goodbye to Meng Jie and started walking in the direction of the men’s dorms.

Meng Jie was about to ask him if he shouldn’t be heading off-campus, but when she glanced at her roommates, she instantly understood his intentions.

As soon as Chen Yansen was out of earshot, Meng Jie’s roommates swarmed her, asking eagerly, ”Meng Jie, are you really Senior Brother Chen’s girlfriend?”

”I guess so.”

Meng Jie thought for a moment before nodding seriously.

’I kissed him, and he kissed me back. How could we not be boyfriend and girlfriend?’

’What does ”I guess so” even mean?’

’You either are or you aren’t!’

Meng Jie’s roommates exchanged confused glances, but they were too polite to press the issue. As they walked along Xue Lin Road, each of them ended up with a stack of club recruitment flyers.

...

...

Chen Yansen had originally planned to head back to his hotel, but after seeing Meng Jie with her roommates, he changed his mind. He bought a bag of braised snacks and a six-pack of beer from Xueyuan Supermarket, then ambled toward Building 8.

The door to Room 8302 was still ajar.

Just as he reached the doorway, he heard Zhu Xiaopeng say, ”It’s already nine-thirty. Don’t tell me Chen Yansen is planning to stay out all night?”

”The guy drives a Benz. You think he’s hurting for female company?”

Tang Zhenzhe, lying on his bed, scoffed at the idea.

”Any of you guys ever been in a relationship?”

Meng Xibo, who loved to snoop for information more than anything, jumped into the conversation.

”As you all know,” Wang Zhengqiang boasted shamelessly, putting on an air of reluctance, ”I was the star forward on the high school soccer team. Girls were flocking to me every day. Eventually, I just couldn’t hold back... ah, well.”

”What happened?” Chen Yansen teased as he kicked the door open, a grin on his face. ”Did you finally lose your virginity?”
