CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 2108: Chapter 2116: West Crossing

Jane Sampson quickly ran downstairs upon hearing, seeing the Great General happily circling around James Carter. She realized it was because he had brought food, which the Great General’s dog nose had sniffed out.

”Mom and I brought you some snacks this time.” James Carter looked at Jane Sampson who was sitting in front of him smiling, and then at the Great General next to her with a joyous expression, he couldn’t help but laugh, ”No wonder Elder Black said, the Great General is like you.”

”Huh?” Jane Sampson looked at James Carter, rubbing her nose, ”Then I’ll take that as a compliment from you, Brother! Hmph!”

”Let me see your hand.” Mother Carter moved a bit closer to Jane Sampson, gently reaching out to lift her sleeve, ”Is it scabbing over?”

”Yes.” Jane Sampson initially wanted to avoid it, but then restrained herself.

Her hand after scabbing looked even uglier than when it was first injured, with black streaks like a centipede.

”The smaller wounds are almost shedding their scabs. She’s itchy and wants to scratch, even wants to rub them in her sleep.” Old Master Black was a bit distressed, ”I really have to constantly keep an eye on her, otherwise she’ll pick at them.”

”Don’t pick at them, it will scar if you do.” Mother Carter knew how uncomfortable it is when wounds heal and new skin grows, so she felt more sympathetic towards Jane Sampson, ”If these small wounds are treated well early on, the scars will fade away slowly by themselves.”

This itchiness is something that cannot simply be ignored by distracting oneself. In Jane Sampson’s case, many medicines can’t be used, she can only endure it.

But the bigger wounds and cuts are even more difficult, and will probably require cosmetic medical procedures.

”At first it was uncomfortable, but now I’m used to it, I’m not picking anymore.” Jane Sampson whispered in her own defense, seeing Mother Carter’s eyes redden, she quickly changed the topic, asking, ”Mom, did you and Brother come to Capital Province for work this time?”

”I’ve basically set work aside.” Mother Carter shook her head, ”This time your brother and I came regarding the issue before your accident, the photo incident.”

Mother Carter explained, ”More than half a month ago, Joseph Shaw brought Jillian Carter to see us, saying they found evidence that the timing of the photo had nothing to do with Jillian Carter. During this time, your grandparents privately had people re-investigate, and finally confirmed that the evidence Joseph Shaw provided, none of it is fake. That’s why they had me and your brother come over and tell you.”

Although Mother Carter didn’t bring those pieces of evidence, Jane Sampson believed in what Mother Carter said, and believed that Grandpa Carter and Granny Carter wouldn’t cover up for Jillian Carter.

Since the elders said this matter had no direct connection with Jillian Carter, it indicated this issue was indeed not instigated by her.

Jane Sampson nodded, ”Mom, I understand.”

Jane Sampson thought so too, Jillian Carter shouldn’t stoop to such means.

”Jillian hasn’t been anywhere else this half a month. After finishing work every day, she would stay for dinner with me, except during weekends when Joseph Shaw came back; she would also stay at home with me and your dad, she seems to have settled down a lot,” said Mother Carter, ”Hopefully, she’s truly settled down.”

”She started a clothing company, created her own brand, the brand’s Chinese name is West Crossing, and even directly acquired a clothing factory, planning to control the design and production process all by herself within the company. It seems she’s preparing to create a high-end domestic women’s brand.”

Mother Carter felt relieved, ”She has something to do now, so she won’t have time to think about unnecessary things. The money she used to start the company mostly came from selling some of her real estate, a small part was supported by Joseph Shaw.”
