CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1546: Chapter 1554: It’s Quite Clean

When he said this, he paused and then changed his tone, ”Middle-aged men in the early morning are really scary.”

James Black shot a glance over, his voice carrying a hint of threat, ”What did you say?”

Jane Sampson inexplicably sensed the deeper meaning in James Black’s gaze, laughed a little, and sheepishly changed her wording, ”I meant early mornings for middle-aged women are really painful.”

After speaking, Jane Sampson sat up, stared at James Black for a few seconds, then stepped down onto the floor, directly pushing aside James Black who was tidying the buttons in front of the dressing table mirror, occupying his original spot to smooth her hair.

James Black knew Jane Sampson was doing it on purpose, so he ignored her and didn’t leave her with a word, instead turning to head to the living room.

Only when he reached the doorway, James Black suddenly seemed thoughtful and turned his head back to glance in Jane Sampson’s direction.

He happened to see Jane Sampson carefully examining her eyes in the mirror, muttering softly to herself.

”Why do my eyes feel a bit itchy? I only blurted out a random sentence, it’s not like I’ll really have a stye, right?”

James Black’s expression slightly darkened, but in the end, he didn’t say anything and went to the living room to prepare breakfast for the two of them.

After breakfast, Jane Sampson took James Black to the doorway, rubbing her eyes while saying goodbye to him, and then casually asked him, ”James Black, are you coming home tonight?”

James Black turned to look at Jane Sampson, reached out and pushed away her hand that was rubbing her eyes, ”If your eyes feel uncomfortable, have your assistant take you to the hospital once, don’t use your dirty hands to rub your eyes. Also, I’m not coming home tonight, going straight to return to the guard team in the afternoon.”

”Ah.” Jane Sampson’s ”Ah” was uncertain whether she was agreeing with him or protesting his reference to dirty hands.

After James Black closed the door and left, Jane Sampson stood there for a few seconds without moving, examining her palm and the back of her hand up and down, slowly retorting, ”They’re clean, not dirty at all, okay?”

Maybe because she spoke nonsense too much, Jane Sampson’s eyes were uncomfortable all morning.

By the time James Black finished his meeting, it was past eleven. On the way back, with the driver driving the car, he sat in the rear seat and called Jane Sampson, reminding her to remember to eat lunch, and casually asked again, ”Are your eyes still uncomfortable?”

”I’ve inexplicably been tearing up all morning, my left eye can hardly open,” Jane Sampson’s voice was filled with a tone of frustration.

”Have a light meal at noon.” James Black changed his tone, ”I’ll arrange lunch for you, drink some light porridge at noon, and don’t use your hands to rub your eyes. After lunch, let your assistant take you to the hospital. I’ve coordinated things at the hospital for you.”

It’s a pity he had business with the return to the guard team, otherwise James Black actually wanted to personally take Jane Sampson to the hospital.

”Oh.” Jane Sampson responded, figuring that since James Black had arranged everything, she didn’t need to worry about anything.

Even if James Black hadn’t said anything, she planned to go to the hospital once anyway, since she’s going to enter the filming set tomorrow and if her eyes aren’t better, it would affect the schedule.

Lucy Brisk arrived at Jane Sampson’s place at one thirty, picked her up and went out.

Luckily, Jane Sampson’s eye problem wasn’t severe, just a slight inflammation due to bacterial infection, probably caused by some dust getting into her eyes during filming when she went out yesterday afternoon and she reflexively rubbed her eyes a few times as a result.
