CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1536: Chapter 1544: Going in Opposite Directions

Jane Sampson finished her makeup under the relentless badgering of Quincy Forest. Fortunately, today’s makeup requirements were relatively simple and completed in about an hour. After changing into the designated outfit, Jane and Quincy left the makeup room to find Kane Forest.

Quincy, along with her assistant, got into Kane’s car with Jane. The photography studio wasn’t far from Quincy’s own studio; it took less than half an hour driving to get there. The photography team was owned by the Forest Clan Group, and as soon as Jane arrived at the studio, she quickly immersed herself into work mode.

Quincy and her assistant sat nearby, ready to touch up Jane’s makeup and adjust her styling at any time. Kane stood at the doorway; this was his first time being this close to Jane while she was at work.

The shoot for now was just for publicity photos, but later at sunset, they needed to head outdoors to film a short video for a public welfare ad, lasting no more than five minutes.

Since Jane’s schedule was tight, all the work had been crammed into today. The supporting roles were all recruited from professional cinemas, and the entire video contained no dialogue, making the filming process relatively straightforward.

Kane had been acquainted with Princess Egg-Yolk online for a long time. Over the years, he had never met her in person, but in his heart, Kane had fantasized countless times about this girl’s appearance.

Kane knew that Princess Egg-Yolk likely came from a well-off family. She seemed too leisurely to be a student, yet also didn’t seem like someone already working. At that time, Kane thought that perhaps she was a young girl carefully raised by her family at home.

He also knew she was incredibly lively, knowledgeable about everything, capable of anything. Even for things she wasn’t initially familiar with, she’d master them quickly as she had an exceptional learning ability and was good with her hands.

Because of this, Kane had even entertained the thought that perhaps she was the daughter of a rich family, who, due to poor health, hadn’t ventured into the working world. Instead, she was pampered at home every day, with her family not allowing her to go out. This gave her so much free time.

She also had a hobby—she loved eating.

This hobby even led Kane to imagine that the girl might be slightly chubby and adorable.

Kane didn’t even know when he began to like this girl with whom he exchanged messages online. By the time he realized he’d tucked away this unseen girl in his heart, he was already deeply lost in the feeling and unable to extricate himself.

Kane still vividly remembered the moment when he learned that Princess Egg-Yolk was also attending the gathering. His heart, which had been quiet for so many years, suddenly started beating violently. As he looked forward to that day, he couldn’t help but feel secretly nervous, his nervousness resembling that of a young man fresh to the world.

That nervousness lasted until the moment he saw Jane walk through the door and confidently introduce herself to everyone as Princess Egg-Yolk. The nervous anticipation turned into utter shock and despair.

Aside from her figure, Jane perfectly matched every guess he had about Princess Egg-Yolk.

Because she was the one he had secretly liked for so long, Princess Egg-Yolk, Kane couldn’t stop himself from falling for her. The only regret was—Jane was already married.

Kane didn’t know how much effort it took that afternoon to make himself appear as though everything was fine.

But no one knew that afternoon, every word he said to Jane, every glance he gave her, made his heart twist with pain.

His resignation reminded him that he should stay away from her, that he ought not to disrupt her life.

But the reality was, he still couldn’t restrain himself and couldn’t control the impulse to steal another glance at her.

Watching her work was exactly like the captivating image he’d once fantasized.

Rationality always seems to have a way of going against what’s in the heart.

In her work, Jane was immensely professional—she would tirelessly pose as the photographer instructed, offering him the most satisfying smiles and angles they sought.
