CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1507: Chapter 1515: You Come

”Hey! Alright, such a beautiful girl with such sweet words.” The boss immediately broke into a grin, waved at Jane Sampson and Quincy Forest, and left the private room without paying any attention to Kane Forest’s black face.

The waiter and the boss closed the door and left together, while Kane Forest sat there, face dark. ”We’ll never come back to this shop again. With the boss’s lack of tact, this place is bound to shut down eventually.”

”Wow, that’s quite the venomous curse~” Quincy Forest facepalmed. ”Brother, the boss was just expressing fan joy towards little Jane. Why are you so riled up? It’s like he stole your girlfriend or something.”

At this moment, Jane Sampson finally tuned back in, her heart suddenly struck with a wave of realization.

Oh, so Mr. Forest has one bottom line—no one gets to outpay him.

Oh, so Mr. Forest doesn’t like being underestimated or thought of as broke.

So, is it true that super rich people all have this fondness for throwing money around?

What kind of bizarre obsession is that?

Jane Sampson glanced at Kane Forest and couldn’t help but feel a tinge of admiration. No wonder he’s so successful in the business world—turns out he has this sort of ”secret handbook.”

”Brother, then it’s settled. Today’s meal was covered by the boss, so next time, you owe me and Jane a fancy feast to make up for it.” Quincy Forest said.

”Exactly, exactly.” Jane Sampson nodded along. ”You can show off just how loaded you are that day.”

”Show off just how loaded I am?” Kane Forest heard Jane’s words and felt they were somewhat incomprehensible.

But, that wasn’t important.

What Kane Forest cared about was, ”You’re coming?”

”Of course! Free meals are my favorite thing!” Jane Sampson nodded repeatedly, like a pecking bird.

”Alright.” Kane Forest agreed readily, and his mood lightened dramatically almost instantly.

Relieved, Jane Sampson and Quincy Forest relaxed. After the dishes arrived, Jane Sampson nestled her phone under the table to secretly message Quincy Forest on WhatsApp.

”Does your cousin have this weird habit of showing off his wealth? [Shocked]——James Black’s wife.”

”I’m as shocked as you are. I guess that’s the CEO’s bottom line—never be underestimated. Throwing down the bill and showing who’s boss probably feels quite macho to these straight guys, right? ——Everyday’s a little princess.”

Whether it was macho or not, Jane Sampson didn’t quite get it, but she was undeniably a bit terrified.

After finishing the meal, Kane Forest drove her back to the building downstairs. Then, with Quincy Forest still in tow, he drove off. Once Jane was back home, she didn’t waste any time and pulled out her script to start preparing.

She hadn’t touched the script since after the New Year—it had been a few days now. Afraid she might forget parts of it and mindful that filming would start soon, she had to hurry and relearn the bits she’d forgotten.

It wasn’t until after three in the afternoon that Jane Sampson, estimating Granny Sampson had likely wrapped up her lunch break, decided to give her a call. They chatted for more than half an hour before hanging up.

Unexpectedly, just as Jane hung up, Bright Sampton’s phone call came through—but he wasn’t the one making the call.

As soon as she picked up, before she could say a word, she heard Father Sampton’s barrage of questions.

”Who were you talking to for so long at this hour? Didn’t your phone show that I’ve been trying to call you? I’ve been calling for over ten minutes and it kept saying the line was busy. What’s going on?” Father Sampton grilled her immediately, ”Did you blacklist my number? I couldn’t get through all day using my own phone, but the moment I use Bright’s, the call goes through.”
