CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1495: Chapter 1503: I’ll Listen to Grandma

”Go ahead, Grandma,” Jane Sampson quieted down and listened to Granny Sampton speak.

”Julie Sampson is pregnant. She wants to rely on the child to marry David Chip as his wife,” Granny Sampton let out a cold sneer as she spoke.

”And she doesn’t know what she’s told her good dad, who came here at noon to find me, asking me to talk to you, persuade you, and ask the Black Family to step in so Julie Sampson can marry David Chip grandly.”

Granny Sampton let out a cold laugh, ”It’s amazing that Julie Sampson came up with this idea, and even more amazing that her good daddy could say such a thing.”

Jane Sampson sat there for a long time, unable to recover from her shock—both from the surprise that Julie Sampson was actually pregnant and from the shock that Julie Sampson wanted her to talk to the Black Family to help negotiate a marriage with the Chip Family?

Just how much audacity and confidence does Julie Sampson have to keep scheming against her time and again?

But Jane Sampson was more concerned with how Granny Sampton had responded and what she thought.

As Jane Sampson hesitated, Granny Sampton slowly spoke again, ”I refused, Jane. Before, your grandparents were confused, but now Grandma is clear-headed. This is the first time Grandma has so clearly refused him.”

”Your grandparents have let you suffer for the sake of the Sampton Family for half your life; from now on, we can’t let you suffer anymore.” Granny Sampton’s voice was gentle, but her tone was very serious, ”I know him well. If he can’t persuade me, he’ll come directly to you. If he does, don’t help him. Tell him I don’t allow you to help Julie Sampson. Listen to me, and if he has any objections, he should come directly to me.”

Jane Sampson stood there, dumbfounded.

She had thought...

She had thought she would once again become the one to compromise, the one who didn’t matter. But on such a big issue, Grandma told her she rejected Father Sampton’s request and also told her to refuse.

This feeling of being protected and cherished in someone’s palm felt truly wonderful.

Jane Sampson felt a slight sting in her eyes as she gently nodded and hummed softly, ”I listen to Grandma.”

”Thank you, Grandma.” Jane Sampson hugged Granny Sampton and softly expressed her gratitude before helping her downstairs to have a meal.

During the time it took to go up and down, her steps on the way down became much lighter than before.

Seeing James Black standing at the bottom of the staircase waiting for her, Jane Sampson waved her arm at him from afar.

James Black had been waiting downstairs since Jane Sampson went upstairs; he waited for over ten minutes, and only then did he walk over here, preparing to go upstairs to check.

It was a bit of a surprise, as he hadn’t climbed upstairs yet but saw Jane Sampson coming down with a smile, waving at him, clearly in high spirits.

Jane Sampson hooked her left arm through Granny Sampton’s arm, and when she reached James Black, she hooked her right arm through his, and the three of them walked shoulder to shoulder toward the dinner table.

”So slow,” Bright Sampton, rubbing his sleepy eyes, sat at the table, his stomach growling. It had been days since he’d had a decent meal, and the fragrance of Jane Sampson’s cooking had woken him up.

”You must be starving?” Granny Sampton sat down, patting his wild, messy hair, ”After eating, go rest in your own place. I have a nanny here. Having you around makes me distracted, worrying about you. I’m fine. In the coming days, I’ll tidy up your grandpa’s belongings and then plan to travel to places I used to go with your grandpa.”
