Chapter 1235: Chapter 1243 I Hate Jane Sampson

Gwendolyn Young chuckled softly, ”So, Mr. Carter says you don’t like being called the ’Monkey King of Sampton’ because it sounds particularly ruffian-like?”

Jane Sampson’s expression stiffened for a second, her ears slightly reddened, and she nodded her head, making an acknowledging sound.

It was Jane Sampson’s reaction that was simply too amusing, making Gwendolyn Young laugh for quite a while.

”Actually, the name ’Monkey King of Sampton’ isn’t that bad.” Gwendolyn Young teased Jane Sampson.

Jillian Carter watched her mother chatting familiarly with Jane Sampson, as if they had endless topics to discuss, and she instantly lost her patience.

”Mom, we should head to our seats now,” Jillian Carter urged from behind Gwendolyn Young.

Gwendolyn Young gave an acknowledging hum, then pulled Jillian forward a little to introduce her to Jane, ”This is my daughter, Jillian Carter. Just like you, she’s a rascal.”

Jillian instantly felt embarrassed and replied with a cold face, ”Who is like her?”

After speaking, she directly pulled Gwendolyn Young, saying, ”Let’s go, Mom.”

Gwendolyn Young sensed that her daughter was irritated and nodded to Jane Sampson before following her daughter to the seats in the front. When no one was around, Gwendolyn Young spoke to Jillian in a low voice, ”Jillian, your dad mentioned recently that your temper has been getting worse, and I thought your dad was exaggerating. But now, it seems that your temper is indeed not good, and that’s not a good thing.”

”Mom, I can’t stand Jane Sampson.” Jillian Carter was frank in front of her mother, ”So, can you not laugh and joke with Jane Sampson all the time?”

”Is it because the incident where you hid in King Town was exposed to your dad and your big brother because of her?” Gwendolyn Young’s voice became somewhat stern, ”Not to mention that she and your brother mentioned it, they did not intend to expose you. After all, she didn’t know what you were doing. And remember the day you argued with your dad at the hotel; if it weren’t for Jane Sampson pulling you away in time, do you know what the consequences would have been?”

Gwendolyn Young, hearing Jillian Carter say she couldn’t stand Jane Sampson, took it as Jillian Carter holding a grudge against Jane Sampson for being brought back home from King Town by her husband. After Jillian returned home, Father Carter grounded her for quite a long time, not allowing her to step out of the door and reflecting on her actions.

It was only half a month ago that Jillian Carter admitted her fault, and Father Carter’s attitude finally softened a bit.

However, regarding Jillian Carter’s little idea about Jane Sampson’s husband, Father Carter felt embarrassed to discuss it with his wife. He also felt that after Jillian’s reflection, she should have realized her mistake, so he had no intention of bringing it up with his wife.

Since Father Carter didn’t say anything, Gwendolyn Young naturally couldn’t think of the biggest reason Jillian Carter hated Jane Sampson was because Jane was James Black’s wife.

Gwendolyn Young’s status was obvious, so, naturally, their seats were at the very front, while Jane Sampson and the film crew sat in the fourth row, looking at the backs of the mother and daughter’s heads.

”Teacher Young is really as amiable as others have said, but her daughter seems a bit haughty and difficult to get along with.” Someone muttered nearby.

Then, turning to Jane Sampson, they said, ”Teacher Young seems to really like you.”

”Teacher Young is a really nice person,” Jane responded in a non-committal manner, leaving those who wanted to glean some information from her hitting a soft nail and wisely ceasing to engage further in conversation about the mother-daughter duo and Jane Sampson.

Actually, attending such awards ceremonies could be quite tiring. An entire evening where one couldn’t leave early or arrive late, and throughout the event, cameras were everywhere. Whether it was male or female artists, no one dared to relax even for a moment.
