CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1209: Chapter 1217: Give Me a Hug

”I can’t step in,” Jane Sampson said. ”I don’t know anyone suitable in King Town.”

Sister Shaw was a single woman, so Jane Sampson absolutely wouldn’t dare ask her to help meet the gambler.

”There should be someone appropriate under General Manager Miller,” Sister Shaw casually added.

”But I’m not very familiar with President Miller; it doesn’t seem right to always trouble him. I’ll talk to my agent and have him arrange someone,” Jane Sampson thanked her, ”Thank you, Sister Shaw, for helping me find out about the gambler.”

”It’s a minor thing, just like visiting the seniors in the countryside and chatting with the villagers. Our village is not big, so it’s easy to inquire about anything,” Sister Shaw said. ”No need to be polite with me. Old Young and your James Black are really good teammates; I’m only doing what I should.”

Jane Sampson hummed in response, feeling grateful for Sister Shaw’s help.

She knew that in this world, no one was obligated to help anyone.

After ending the call with Sister Shaw, Jane Sampson thought for a moment and then decided to give Aunt Black a call.

The studio had just been established, and Rock Bell was so busy every day that he hardly had time to rest, making it very difficult for him to find someone appropriate for this kind of task at the moment.

However, Aunt Black’s situation was different; the company had all kinds of capable people.

After calling Aunt Black, Jane Sampson temporarily put the matter aside.

The next day, she took Bright Sampton to Sister Shaw’s hotpot restaurant for a meal, and after ten o’clock, Bright Sampton did not let Jane Sampson accompany him, and he flew back to Capital Province alone.

Jane Sampson’s illness came on quickly, tormenting her for half a month, but she gradually got better two days after taking the medicine that Bright Sampton had brought from Capital Province, though she still had a slight cough that she needed to slowly treat with more medication; other than that, there were no issues.

As soon as she returned to the drama school, Jane Sampson’s days were filled with busyness. The person Aunt Black arranged arrived in King Town the day after Bright Sampton left and first contacted Jane Sampson to discuss some matters before disappearing without any further updates.

In the blink of an eye, two days passed without any news from Aunt Black’s person.

That evening, after finishing at drama school past ten o’clock, one of the first things Lucy Brisk and Jane Sampson did when they got back to the hotel was to go downstairs to get Jane Sampson’s medicine.

Having filmed all day, Jane Sampson was exhausted, so she didn’t wait for Lucy Brisk but went up by herself and opened the door. She furrowed her eyebrows when she saw the light on in the room.

She clearly remembered unplugging the room card that controlled the electricity when she left that morning.

As she stepped further in and looked down at the luggage bag on the floor, Jane Sampson immediately perked up.

”James Black!”

The exhaustion was swept away in an instant, and Jane Sampson dashed forward, calling out James Black’s name as she ran. Those two short syllables were filled with laughter.

James Black had just come out of the bath and hadn’t even steadied himself when, the next second, someone threw herself into his arms.

”Why did you suddenly show up without telling me?” Jane Sampson held James Black’s waist tightly. ”Didn’t you say you’d call me after your mission ended?”

”My mobile phone was lost,” James Black pushed Jane Sampson away. ”Stay back a bit; I’m still wet.”

”No, no~” Jane Sampson took a long step and continued to cling in James Black’s arms without coming out. ”Let me hold you a bit.”
