CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1215: Chapter 1223: The TV Station’s Relatives

Jane Sampson nodded; her question indeed seemed as though it was asked and not asked at the same time.

Charles Young was definitely the most shameless person Jane had ever seen. One second, he was frantically begging for mercy, fearing for his life; the next, he was puffing up with pride when he mentioned his friends and relatives.

It was as if he suddenly remembered something.

Charles Young’s bravado flared up, ”You didn’t bring it up, and I almost forgot. But now that you mention it, I suddenly remember I have a distant relative working at the TV station in Capital Province. I warn you, if you don’t release me and give me some medical expenses and compensation for lost work, I’ll have my relative expose you on television. Then, you’ll be hunted down by the netizens!”

But in truth, Charles Young was just bluffing to scare them. Not long ago, he was so broke that he had to steal food from a child, so he shamelessly called to borrow money from this relative. Unfortunately, instead of getting the money, he was ridiculed for a while, and later, when he tried to call again, his mobile number was blacklisted.

Now, Charles Young couldn’t reach them at all, even if he switched to a new phone number, as soon as they saw it was from King Town, they wouldn’t pick up.

After all, once they had settled in Capital Province, they brought their family over and rarely interacted with their relatives in King Town; their emotional ties to this place had almost faded away.

And if there was really any trouble back in their hometown in King Town, they would call his parents instead.

Charles Young himself was the kind of man who bullied the weak but feared the strong, so he thought everyone in the world must be like that. He figured by mentioning his powerful relative, the others might get scared.

Maybe he could even extort some money out of them.

The tens of thousands of bucks he had made last time had been squandered almost completely, and later he couldn’t even afford to rent a decent room.

Rent in King Town was expensive—requiring a deposit plus three months in advance—and Charles Young didn’t have enough money, otherwise, he wouldn’t still be holed up in this shabby place.

That’s why the door fell with a slight push.

”TV station?” James Black sneered before instructing Brooke Black’s people to hand Charles Young the mobile phone, ”Here, call your relative immediately.”

”From Capital Province too, how impressive,” Jane Sampson said mockingly with a laugh.

That Charles Young was truly foolish.

He couldn’t even recognize any of them; even if he had a relative working at the TV station, what good would that do? How would they be exposed? Once James Black cleaned up Charles Young, he likely wouldn’t stay in King Town. Brooke Black’s people weren’t from King Town either, and Jane, who came in with a mask, had been standing there for so long without Charles Young recognizing her. Even if she appeared on TV, Charles Young definitely wouldn’t guess that she was an actor.

It seemed the woman who made Charles Young plot against her had not revealed Jane’s identity to him, or rather, she had not disclosed Jane’s appearance.

She probably just told Charles Young that a woman would enter the room.

Charles Young stood there, completely stunned.

”First, send him to the Solar Planet Police Department,” James Black instructed the man next to him, and then said, ”And then go to the Crystal Element Hotel for me. Get all the surveillance video from a few days before the incident, from every corner, all of it. It’s roughly five days around the time of the incident.”

After finishing his instructions, James Black left the dirty, smelly, and dilapidated room with Jane Sampson.
