CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 840: Chapter 848: Indulging in Creating Someone Like You

”Julie, before, I always thought you were young, your petulance didn’t matter, you still had plenty of time to grow up, but now I realize that I was wrong. You are already in your 20s. When your mother was your age, she was already a wife and a mother. Your malice, it’s been there from a young age, and now, it’s become rooted in your bones.”

Granny Sampton’s face was filled with sorrow, ”Do you think your grandparents are fools? We may be old, but we are not blind. From the moment you returned to this home, you have been opposing Jane, excluding her at every turn. We understand; we have been indulgent towards you because of the hardships you faced as a child, letting you have your way, and asking Jane to do the same, to endure and indulge you. But how could it be that by indulging and enduring, we ended up fostering the way you are now?”

In Granny Sampton’s eyes, there was endless disappointment. Julie Sampton was her granddaughter. She couldn’t help but love and hope for her. But it was Julie herself who failed to cherish, to change, and as a result, made her and her husband profoundly disappointed time after time, fading their hopes for her.

”Julie, your grandma and I both remember, on the birthday you shared with Jane, early in the morning, you complained of a stomachache and wanted the whole family to accompany you to the hospital. Halfway there, you said it didn’t hurt anymore and wanted to go to the amusement park. We all doted on you, listened to you. We spent the whole day at the amusement park that day, took countless photos with you. When dinner was over and it was time to go home, you complained of discomfort again, and late at night, the whole family ended up in the hospital spending the night with you.”

Grandpa Sampton still finds it hard to forget that incident to this day, ”The stomachache, you faked it. You took all those photos just to show them off to Jane the next day. On the same birthday, we, as a family, revolved around you the whole day. But what about Jane? She was alone at home all day, hungry for a day, and not even at night was anyone there to keep her company. No one could tell her, ’Jane, happy birthday’, even once. You flaunted it in front of Jane. Seeing her upset, you were happy. You told Jane this was your house, and she was just an unwanted wild child. Back then, your grandma and I couldn’t understand how such a young girl could be so full of schemes.”

If Granny and Grandpa Sampton had not heard with their own ears, the words Julie said to Jane in the piano room, they would never have believed that a girl in her teens could say and do such things.

”Julie Sampton, tell me, since you’ve been back, what has Jane ever battled you over? Anything you said you wanted, has any of it ended up in Jane’s hands? Jane has been accommodating and tolerant of you. Do you think she owes you, that she should yield and tolerate you?” Granny Sampton shouted angrily, ”But Julie Sampton, what makes you think you are still living in luxury now? If it weren’t for Jane, you, Julie Sampton, might be living in the countryside with your parents and us, the old couple, by now! In this world, where would there be ’Julie Sampton, Second Young Lady Sampton’?”

”For so many years, your grandma and I watched Jane yield to you. We always thought that in this family, someone has to give a bit more, and we could only wrong our Jane to accommodate you, to make you a bit happier. But we never expected that it would result in such a callous person like you.”
