CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 576: Chapter 584: The Elderly Cannot Endure Strain

Jane Sampson’s hand missed its mark, and she was stunned, ”Then what should I do? You tell me!”

Humph! Tough to appease! The hardest person to appease in the whole world! Even harder than Peter Gingery!

In her tone, there was a bit of a stance that she was getting angry too.

”After the show is over, you’ll give me a self-criticism report of no less than one thousand words, without a single word of negligence!” James Black said, ”Don’t let it happen again. If there’s a next time, I’ll just break your legs myself to save you the trouble of falling and breaking them.”

”One thousand words!” Jane Sampson thought for a moment, then took two steps back, ”Then you might as well stay mad.”

After saying that, Jane Sampson suddenly took off running.

However, somewhat embarrassingly, she was caught after barely running two meters. Looking at the person behind her with a dark face staring at her, Jane Sampson’s courage faded, realizing there was no escape, so she could only turn around and admit defeat.

”I was just joking with you just now! One thousand words it is, I’ll surely hand it to you on time after we finish recording the show,” Jane Sampson said and then turned around to hug James Black’s waist, ”I always keep my word, so you can’t stay mad at me now.”

Seeing that James Black just looked at her without speaking, Jane Sampson hugged him for a while before letting go and then reached into the big pocket of her sweatshirt in front of her.

”James Black! Look! Here’s the gift I brought down from the tree for you!” Jane Sampson said, showing off what she was holding in her hands above her eyes to James Black like a precious treasure.

James Black’s eyebrows twitched, immediately recognizing that the things in Jane Sampson’s hands were bird eggs.

So, she actually climbed the tree before he asked her to come down, just to get bird eggs?

Was this her backup plan after failing to appease him with a peach?

”Roasted bird eggs?” James Black clicked his tongue, ”Or were you planning on boiling them? Hm?”

The hm was clearly threatening.

Jane Sampson, with a strong will to survive, shook her head quickly, ”We can’t eat them, they’re two lives. If eaten, the mother bird won’t have her children. I just brought them down to show you. After showing, we have to return them.”

Although Jane Sampson’s first reaction upon discovering the bird nest in the tree was to recall the roasted bird eggs she ate as a child, she knew that nowadays, bird eggs weren’t something one could just eat casually—she still had common sense.

”Jane Sampson.” James Black thought that if she were one of his subordinates, by now she probably would have been kicked off the planet.

Calling out Jane Sampson’s name and not immediately speaking, James Black was silent for a long time before he slowly said, ”You know I’m getting old, so, with age comes less tolerance to irritation, understand?”

With James Black’s words, Jane Sampson felt as if a grassland’s worth of horses were galloping through her heart.

!!!

Getting old!

Less tolerance to irritation!!

The man who would even deliberately correct the word ’old’ when she called him an old rascal, was now suddenly talking about being old and intolerant??

Jane Sampson thought, James Black must have been driven mad by her.

”Sooner or later, you’re going to be the death of me,” James Black sighed, then raised his hand to rub Jane Sampson’s head.

Jane Sampson rolled her eyes. Speaking of getting irritated, wasn’t it this guy who got irritated with her more often?

”I’ll go return the bird eggs,” Jane Sampson said as she moved the eggs away from in front of her eyes.

”Give them here,” James Black took the bird eggs from Jane Sampson’s hands, then turned and walked toward the tree. He quickly climbed up using the ladder.

Standing at a distance watching James Black climb the tree, Jane couldn’t help but admire, daddy Black looked so cool climbing a tree.
