CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 571: Chapter 579: Win her over

Old Sir Sampson hurriedly checked the surveillance camera in the great courtyard and finally found that Jane Sampson didn’t come down after she climbed up the tree around 3 in the afternoon.

Only when everyone arrived at the tree did they realize the little lass was sound asleep, sprawled on the branch.

The adults below the tree didn’t dare to wake her up, fearing that she might think she was in the bed at home and fall off while turning over.

In the end, it was James Black’s uncle who climbed the tree and carried her down. When Jane Sampson woke up and the adults asked why she hid in the tree for so long, even falling asleep from boredom, why didn’t she come down?

The eight or nine-year-old little miss mumbled with teary eyes, ”I can’t get down~”

Then Peter Gingery, who didn’t keep a close watch on Jane, was beaten by Old Master Black.

As an innocent party who got hit, Peter was angry with Jane for the first time after knowing her for so long and didn’t talk to her for a long time.

For the next few days, whenever James was at home, he saw Jane cautiously bringing her favorite food to coax Peter, and her voice was soft as she apologized, promising it wouldn’t happen again.

Later, James heard from his uncle that Jane took out her New Year’s money to buy Peter a super big and super cool Transformer, and that’s how he finally made up with her and their friendship was restored.

Reflecting on it later, Peter began to realize a problem, ”That lass can’t still be stuck in trees, now can she?”

”Give the mobile phone back to Lieutenant Johnson, and go find a two-meter ladder. Bring it with you and follow me for a mountain climb,” James called out to Peter.

Even though he told Peter to follow, James didn’t wait and started off with hurried strides at first, and then, perhaps out of urgency, he ran straight for the mountain.

They were all familiar with that mountain, so by seeing a photo, both James and Peter would know exactly where it was in the mountain village.

Meanwhile, Jane perched up in the tree was completely unaware that a certain person with a darkened face was heading her way through the mountains, nor did she know that Peter was carrying a ladder and chasing after her.

As time was running out for the game to end, Benjamin Worthington’s second team was still holding on; no one had been eliminated even by this stage. Jane thought it over and then picked up the transmitter and said, ”John River, what’s the situation over there? If you can’t break through, come find me. Hibiscus Wood and Mair Williams are here with me, and at least one of them is either the National Grandmaster or the Great General. If you tear apart either of them, that’s at least three points. Let’s even out the score first and then see.”

”Just wait a bit more! Benjamin Worthington is about to exhaust his strength. The rest of the second team has already scattered from him, and it’s just me guarding him here. Joshua Calm is on the way, and Christopher Forest with Charlie Peterson are chasing the others from the second team to prevent them from heading your way,” said John River.

And down by the tree, Hibiscus Wood and Mair Williams also received messages from Benjamin Worthington.

”Hibiscus Wood, Mair Williams, are you two guarding Jane Sampson? Try to take her down; she is very likely the first team’s King!” came Benjamin Worthington’s weary voice from the transmitter, showing that indeed he was almost out of strength.

”What? The King of the first team is Jane Sampson?” Mair shouted out before looking up. ”No wonder she’s fighting so hard!”

But the problem was, neither she nor Hibiscus Wood could climb trees; both of them were helpless against Jane!

”Team leader, Jane Sampson has climbed up the tree. It’s very high, and Hibiscus Wood and I have been watching her all afternoon with no way to do anything. She won’t come down, and we can’t touch her. We need someone who can climb trees to come over,” said Hibiscus Wood.
