Chapter 563: Chapter 571: They’re All Small Matters

After discussing their plans, several people began to strategize their tactics after arriving at the location. Having learned about the mountain village situation from John River and his two companions, everyone started to discuss which direction to head in after the climb.

At 9:30 p.m., about a dozen people arrived at the meeting spot on time.

The team led by Hugo Edwards was the first team, and the one with Benjamin Worthington as team leader was the second team.

Brother Three Soldier from the second team, upon seeing the three comrades in arms from the first team, immediately tensed up, his face that was laughing just a moment ago now stern.

The three men grumbled in their hearts, damn it, the first team has three comrades in arms, two team leaders and a squad leader, all of whom were ranked high in the last competition. How could newcomers like them to the guard team even compete?

”What do you think? Feeling confident?” Hugo Edwards turned his head and whispered to John River, who was closest to him, ”Your mission, the three of you, is to keep a tight leash on your comrades, don’t let them tear us apart, or else, if we really encounter them, we’ll be wiped out in one move for sure.”

”Piece of cake, piece of cake,” John River said with a face brimming with pride, ”No problem at all.”

Peter Gingery glanced at the two teams and didn’t make any comment. He then handed out a communication tool to each person and said, ”Once we’re on the mountain, these will be your team’s communication tools. If there’s damage along the way, you can request replacements from your filming crew. Now, listen to my command: all turn right!”

The mountain Peter Gingery mentioned was behind the vegetable field; everybody had been there before, and it wasn’t too far from here.

A walk of about 20 minutes or so would get you there. The game had a set geographical range, but with clear markers, one needn’t worry about straying too far outside the designated area.

After climbing the mountain, Jane Sampson and John River left in one direction, while the two remaining pairs headed off in two other different directions.

The first and second teams started their mountain climb from different directions, so at first, there was no need to worry about the two teams encountering each other right away.

The path up the mountain wasn’t difficult, with stone steps to ascend, it was just a bit exhausting.

Jane Sampson, huffing and puffing as she climbed, chatted with John River and occasionally exchanged a few words with the cinematographer. She really took the concept of chattiness to the extreme.

”Goddess Sampson, after we finish this afternoon, could you please give me an autograph and take a group photo with me? Last time one of my comrades took a photo with you, and he was so proud of it.” And they were all green with envy. After chatting the whole way with Jane Sampson and feeling that she was very easy to talk to, John River finally dared to make his request to her softly.

”Sure!” Jane Sampson nodded, ”That’s a small matter.”

As Jane Sampson walked, she suddenly stopped, realizing a serious problem, ”We’re starting the game now, and it doesn’t end until 5:30 in the afternoon. How are we going to eat lunch?”

The cinematographer next to her laughed heartily at Jane Sampson’s question, ”Goddess Sampson, is it only now that you’ve realized this issue? This game doesn’t account for your lunchtime.”

”They just gave us an empty water bottle and a small pencil sharpener knife, what are we supposed to do with those?” Jane Sampson shook the water bottle that hung from her and patted the small knife in her pocket with a gloomy face.

”There are springs on the mountain, and the water is very clean, tested to be safe for direct drinking, which is why they gave us empty water bottles—to encourage us to fill them up with spring water ourselves,” explained John River, ”The purpose of the small knife is probably to help us with lunch, right? There are plenty of wild fruits in the mountains this season. The knife can be used to help pick those fruits to eat.”
