CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 536: Chapter 544: You Accompany Me

Then, in my mind, I envisioned those criminals in ancient costume TV series who were about to be beheaded. Before the execution, there was always a bowl of meal with an added chicken leg, and the official would say, ”Eat, eat more. Fill yourself up so that you can ’go on the road’ without starving to death as a hungry ghost.”

The person who wouldn’t even lend her a lunchbox this morning and who she called the ugliest in the world in front of so many people—is he really kind enough to invite her for a late-night snack?

”You know how to be scared? Weren’t you all tough this morning?” Peter Gingery laughed while holding his belly. ”You were so bold in the morning, now don’t wimp out.”

”How was I supposed to know the instructor would single me and Mair Williams out?” Jane Sampson glared at Peter Gingery without good spirits. ”If I had known earlier, I could have praised James Black to the skies!”

”Who told you to talk during training?” Peter Gingery bared his teeth. ”You were with me for a good half-day of training; I had already made it clear to you. If you dared to speak while I was in charge, I would have immediately kicked you out of the troop.”

”There’s always some troublemaker trying to revolt!” Jane Sampson lifted her foot and stomped right onto Peter Gingery’s foot, ”That’s for kicking me when I was down!”

Peter Gingery gasped in pain and quickly stepped back two paces away from Jane Sampson, ”Anyway, I’ve delivered the message. Whether you go or not is up to you, but knowing my brother’s temperament, if he tells you to come over, it’s not a suggestion or a question—it’s an order. If you don’t go now, when he loses his patience, he will definitely come looking for you.”

After a pause, Peter Gingery grinned, showing his teeth with a smile, ”Guess what my brother would say if the shooting team happened to see the two of you together and asked about your relationship?”

Peter Gingery straightened his expression, cleared his throat, and imitated James Black’s deep voice. ”Jane Sampson is my wife.”

And within those words, ”Jane Sampson is my wife,” Jane Sampson felt a shiver down her spine.

A man who’s serious enough to bring a marriage certificate to the guard team would definitely do something like that!

”Will you come with me?” Jane Sampson ran up and grabbed Peter Gingery’s arm. ”I’ll share half of my soup with you!”

”Get out of here! You want to die and take someone down with you; there’s nobody more malicious than you! Friendship over; goodbye.” Peter Gingery yanked his arm back and took off running.

Using his long legs to his greatest advantage, Jane Sampson chased him for several hundred meters, but then Peter Gingery’s figure disappeared.

Jane Sampson stood there looking up at the starry night at a 45-degree angle.

So, to go?

Or not to go?

Just the thought of his cold face made Jane Sampson feel that if she didn’t go, the consequences might, should, probably be quite severe.

Scratching her head, Jane Sampson inwardly wailed for a moment.

Forget it! Better to die early and be reincarnated!

After psyching herself up for quite a while, Jane Sampson finally started walking towards James Black’s dormitory. On the way, she felt quite brave, but once she got to the building downstairs, her legs wouldn’t cooperate. She lingered downstairs for quite some time, just not stepping on the stairs.

Meanwhile, upstairs, James Black’s hands were propped on the balcony railing, his gaze following a small figure from way earlier, until it stopped right below his building.

Heh, that’s the courage of a rabbit.

James Black glanced at his watch. Hmm, that person has been wandering beneath the building for almost five minutes now.

Just when James Black was wondering how long Jane Sampson would stay downstairs before coming up, the person below suddenly looked up, and their eyes met by pure coincidence.
