CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 533: Chapter 541: Unable to Give

”Thank You, Instructor!” Jane Sampson was overjoyed when she heard this, clutching her dining plate and running towards the front. After finding the uncle at the cafeteria, she earnestly and seriously instructed, ”You can’t spill my food, okay? I’ll be back in the evening to continue eating! I didn’t purposely take too much and can’t finish, I just choked just now and drank a lot of water, which is why I can’t eat anymore. I know we shouldn’t waste food, so I’m saving it to eat later tonight.”

The uncle was so taken aback by Jane’s explanation and repentance that he didn’t dare speak a word of reprimand, fearing that if he did, the little miss might start crying in front of him.

Having resolved this big event, Jane Sampson returned to her seat and, when she looked up again at the black-face instructor who had tormented her all morning, she no longer found him hateful. Instead, she saw him as a kind and approachable instructor who was just stern on the outside but warm-hearted within.

As a result, Jane didn’t feel as anxious about the afternoon training anymore.

Jane sat there, not in a rush to leave, quietly waiting for everyone else to finish their meal before heading back to the dormitory together. However, her gaze continued to scan the dining hall, clearly looking for Peter Gingery.

She refused to believe that Peter wouldn’t come to the dining hall for a meal!

To Jane’s relief, after searching for a while, she finally found Peter hiding in an inconspicuous and secluded corner.

Yes, hiding!

The moment he saw her looking in his direction, he quickly turned his face away, not daring to meet her eyes, and wore a guilty expression.

”I’m going to get some boiling water to drink.” Jane stood up quickly and made her way to the water dispenser.

Peter’s seat was on the way there, and as she passed him, she quietly thumped his back before pretending to take her time filling her cup with water.

”Lunchbox! Get me a lunchbox!” Jane saw Peter looking her way and communicated with him silently through lip shapes.

Seeing Peter shake his head, Jane thought this blockhead didn’t understand her, so she communicated with him again. However, the dimwit kept shaking his head.

That shaking couldn’t mean he didn’t have one, because the last time she went to the guard team with egg whites for him, she had brought them in a fairly large lunchbox, which she hadn’t yet taken back!

So, if Peter was shaking his head honestly, it meant he still didn’t understand, right?

Watching Jane, who was pretending to fill her cup with water, bare her teeth in frustration and stomp her foot secretly, Peter wanted to cry on the inside.

His head shaking wasn’t because he had none or because he didn’t understand; after all, the two of them had grown up together and had always used this kind of secret signal whenever they sneaked out to do something.

He shook his head because he couldn’t give it to her!

His brother, Chief Black, Mr. Black, had warned him that if he dared to get a lunchbox for Jane, he’d be the first to receive a thrashing.

That’s why when he came to eat, he had found the least noticeable place to hide!

Jane finally returned to her seat, full of spite, and proceeded to drink the water in her cup down to the last drop. Charlie Peterson saw the expression on Jane’s face as she drank and couldn’t shake the feeling that Sister Jane wasn’t just sipping water; it was as though she was drinking down her sorrows.

The black-face instructor sat there, besieged with doubts once more.

From the moment Jane stood up, he had paid attention and caught every interaction between her and Peter Gingery in the corner.

Jane knew Peter?

It seemed like they were quite close.

If that were the case, he could somewhat understand why the Chief was particularly protective of Jane.

It was probably because of Peter.
