CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 410: Chapter 418: But I Like It

Jane Sampson thought, he couldn’t possibly have gone and watched some inexplicable stuff, could he?

She cleared her throat and then pointed to the hand that he had wrapped around her waist, saying, ”Maybe I’m not the woman described in the information, so, I don’t like it.”

The implication being, get your freaking hands off me!

It’s so hot, and not only is it deathly hot, but it also restricts movement, she had to look at him and give him a signal with her eyes even just to turn around.

Isn’t it annoying? Doesn’t this guy find it annoying?

If he doesn’t find it annoying, she certainly does!

”Oh.” Hearing what Jane Sampson said, James Black responded with an ’oh’, sounding somewhat nonchalant, then added, ”But, I like it.”

James Black had initially scoffed at this sentence he saw on the internet, not taking it seriously, but after actually experiencing it, he found that this feeling and atmosphere were surprisingly pleasant.

He just liked it when she occasionally turned her head to look at him.

Jane Sampson couldn’t help but roll her eyes at James Black.

I like it?

What!

I like it?

Like a ball!

Could that remark about the information he’d mentioned just now be something he made up to fool her?

It’s impossible to buy integrity and courage with money; when lacking both, one can only resign oneself to fate.

So, she spent the entire morning in the kitchen, and James Black, after chopping the beef, didn’t leave but stayed next to Jane Sampson, helping her wash the vegetables and hand her things.

It was only after witnessing the whole process of Jane Sampson busying herself in the kitchen that James Black realized, all the sumptuous meals he had eaten when he came home before, were all the result of her hard work in the kitchen for half a day.

In that long span of time, year after year, she was alone in the cold house, passing the time in the chilly kitchen—no one to embrace her like he did now, no one to keep her company. Had she been happy on her own?

Although she always complained that his embrace made her movements cumbersome, complaining that he was in the way, James Black could clearly see the emotion at the bottom of her eyes; she was actually happy.

The happier she is now, it means the less happy she was before.

James Black remembered that Jane Sampson was a little lass who loved excitement from a young age. From the time she was very young, wherever the great courtyard was most lively, there you would find her figure, always surrounded by lots of little friends, and she was always the one laughing the loudest and most wildly.

She had always been a lively little lass, but later on, she gradually reined in her true nature and started living deliberately and cautiously.

When the meal was ready to be served, Bright Sampton was peeking out from the sofa towards the dining hall, sniffing the aroma. Finally, when Jane Sampson called him to come eat, he hopped like a rabbit all the way to the dining hall and sat down directly opposite Jane Sampson and James Black.

”I made extra beef balls, take some back with you when you go. I remember your dormitory has a pot, you can add some when you make instant noodles, or when you cook a late-night snack,” Jane Sampson said while ladling soup for Bright Sampton.

”Sure, my roommates haven’t stopped talking about it since they tried it once, saying it tastes much better than anything you can buy outside.” Bright Sampton wasn’t just flattering his sister; Jane Sampson’s culinary skills were definitely exceptional.

”Sis, when you have time, make me some spicy beef. It goes great with rice and keeps well,” Bright Sampton said, extending his hand to take the soup bowl from Jane Sampson and casually thanking her.

”Making that takes time, the beef has to be cooked for several hours. I’ll see if I have time tomorrow to make it for you,” Jane Sampson thought to herself; she should have let James Black buy more beef today.
