CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 408: Chapter 416: Paper Tiger

Bright Sampson watched as Jane Sampson lazily leaned back on the sofa without moving, feeling anxious as he sneakily reached out to tug at the leg of her trousers. Once she looked towards him, Bright Sampson quickly gave Jane Sampson a meaningful glance.

”What’s up? Got something wrong with your eyes?” Jane Sampson drew her feet back, ”Why are you standing there like a dolt, hurry up and continue this round!”

Bright Sampson looked up at the ceiling, thinking his sister was probably beyond help.

It must be because she’s been with her brother-in-law for so many years that her mental state has been disturbed.

”Hurry up.” Jane Sampson, not seeing Bright Sampson move for a while, pulled him back to standing and then turned her head to look at James Black with a giggle, ”I’ll be fast! Right, wash the beef and remember to chop it finely.”

The corner of James Black’s mouth twitched almost imperceptibly, and Bright Sampson, with his mobile phone held tight, was pressed down on the sofa by his own foolish sister, his little heart trembling. ”Or should I just go help my brother-in-law with the vegetables?” He wasn’t feeling at all easy about playing the game.

”No need, you guys do your thing,” James Black finally said before heading into the kitchen with his stuff.

As soon as James Black’s figure disappeared from the living room, Bright Sampson felt the living room suddenly expand.

Some people, without even being angry, just stand there and exude an intimidating presence.

Like, for instance, his brother-in-law.

”Sister, you’re bossing brother-in-law around to do kitchen work, isn’t he going to scold you?” Bright Sampson was now thinking, what’s the point of playing the game anymore? He had absolutely no desire to continue, and with a swift move, he snatched Jane Sampson’s mobile phone, unafraid of the glare she shot his way.

”You put your legs up on the sofa, and brother-in-law doesn’t say anything?” Bright Sampson said. ”Last time I came to see you, you were wearing a dress he didn’t like, and you had to sneak around. This time, how come you seem not to be afraid of him at all?”

”That was when I was young and naive, what’s there to fear?” Jane Sampson’s smile was one of triumph, and if she had a tail, she would definitely be shaking it now. ”He’s just a paper tiger! Looks fierce, but that’s just it—only looks.”

And at that very moment, the ’paper tiger’ who just looked fierce stood at the kitchen doorway, hearing Jane Sampson’s words, his eyebrows raised slightly. This was the first time someone had called him a paper tiger, and one that just looked fierce at that.

”...” Bright Sampson could finally confirm it—his sister had gone mad.

Who the hell would call James Black a paper tiger? Even Peter Gingery wouldn’t dare!

He’s clearly a giant carnivorous beast.

”Jane Sampson,” James Black stood at the doorway and suddenly called out to the person on the sofa grappling with the mobile phone.

It was obvious that his voice made someone’s actions come to a jarring halt, and then quickly turn around to glance his way.

”Come here,” James Black said indifferently, leaning on the frame of the kitchen door.

”Go, go, go! Hurry up!” Bright Sampson promptly pushed her towards him.

”Heh, dear brother,” Jane Sampson bared her teeth at Bright Sampson and then scurried towards James Black, internally muttering that he surely hadn’t heard what she said just now, right?

She had spoken quite softly, hadn’t she?

Even if he had heard, he wouldn’t be angry, would he?

The two of them entered the kitchen, and Jane Sampson realized that James Black had just dropped a bag of stuff on the ground. Her heart skipped a beat. Dropping a bag so quickly, this guy must have heard.

As she turned around, she met James Black’s smile that was not quite a smile.

Jane Sampson’s facial muscles twitched a couple of times, and then she forced a placating smile, ”Why don’t you go read a book in the study? I can take care of things here.”

The meat didn’t need to be chopped by the paper tiger any longer, she dared not boss him around anymore.
