CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 402: Chapter 410: How does it feel?

James Black handed Jane Sampson the chopsticks after she sat down, then pushed the bowl of peanut soup towards her, and reminded her, ”It’s a bit hot.”

”Oh,” Jane mumbled to herself, she wasn’t a three-year-old child; she knew this common sense.

Since the residential community here comprised high-end buildings, the small snack restaurants and breakfast cafes nearby didn’t sell the kind of cheap snacks you’d find at roadside stands. The prices were higher, but there was a reason for the cost.

For instance, the breakfast James brought back this morning—Jane absolutely loved this café’s peanut soup and mushroom and vegetable buns. Neither sweet nor greasy, she could devour two buns and a large bowl of peanut soup all by herself.

James sat opposite Jane, watching her eat, her face full of smiles as she alternated between bites of bun and sips of peanut soup, her cheeks puffing out with each mouthful. He couldn’t help but smile.

She seemed to really enjoy eating buns?

James thought, at some point, he should take her to the guard team, and maybe, just for the guard team’s buns, she might cling to him and refuse to leave for a few days.

”By the way,” James said, looking at the happily eating Jane, then suddenly called out to her and asked, ”What do you think?”

Caught off guard by his abrupt question, Jane stared down at the bun in her hand and looked up at James with a puzzled expression, replying, ”The buns from this place have always been delicious, haven’t they? Why suddenly ask me such a strange question?”

James’s eyes flickered, scrutinizing Jane’s face for a few seconds, trying to determine whether she genuinely misunderstood his question or was feigning ignorance.

After all, sitting in front of him was an actor, and an excellent one who’d gone unnoticed for many years.

However, after nearly half a minute, James concluded from her expression.

She genuinely didn’t understand what he was asking just now.

So James cleared his throat, his voice deep as he asked again, ”I’m asking you, how did it feel in the bed last night?”

???

!!!!

”Pfft...”

When eating, could you not say something so frightening?

Could you? Dare you?

Jane choked on the peanut soup, her face turning red.

James passed her a piece of paper, which Jane took and immediately covered her face with it, now as red as a tomato.

”I would like to think, with my learning and understanding skills, there should have been leaps of progress,” James said, standing and moving behind Jane. He reached out to remove the paper from her face, his gaze piercing as he looked at her, ”But all of this, should still be confirmed by your feelings.”

”...”

Why would anyone in this world speak of such matters so seriously?

MMP!

She really wanted to throw a bowl of peanut soup at James Black’s handsome face!

”If you don’t answer, I’ll take it as you agree with my feelings?” Without receiving Jane’s response, James raised an eyebrow and sat down beside her, ”Then, in the future, poor technique can’t be a reason for you demanding a divorce from me. Understood?”

Jane shifted to the side, distancing herself from the imposing James Black. She mustered up the courage she had been brewing for a few seconds, then thrust out her hands and shouted at him, ”Awful!”

After speaking, her legs, ever ready for action, made a dash for the bedroom. Halfway there, she stopped, gritted her teeth, then returned to grab the buns off the table before continuing her escape.

”Jane Sampson.” James remained seated, merely turning to look in her direction, his voice cool, ”No eating in the bedroom.”

Jane, with one foot already stepping into the bedroom, withdrew back, leaning against the doorway wall. She glared at James, then lowered her head to take a bite of the bun and humphed.
