Rebirth in the 90s: Her Counterattack and Redemption

Chapter 859: Chapter 519: Miscalculation

Fuxin Hotel, Yoda Song’s Room.

”Father, how... how could this happen?” Noda Hikari stared blankly at Yoda Song. She couldn’t understand how the prestigious Yodani family could so easily go bankrupt.

”Father, please say something!”

”Father, what should we do next? The contract is already signed, and if bankruptcy prevents us from fulfilling it, what will happen?”

”Father...”

”...”

Noda Hikari paused for a moment and asked again, finally provoking Yoda Song’s displeasure: ”Hikari, be quiet for a moment!”

”Father...” Noda Hikari murmured, not daring to speak again.

After a while, Yoda Song sighed dejectedly: ”Hikari, we were wrong. With the power of the Moselle Family, dealing with someone in China would certainly be easier than for us, but why wouldn’t they do it themselves?”

”Father...” Noda Hikari looked at Old Ye Tian in disbelief, ”Do you mean... that this was orchestrated by Luo Ye? But how could she have such power?

Making the Yodani family bankrupt in such a short time is something that even the Moselle Family couldn’t achieve with all their efforts. Could it be that her strength exceeds that of the Moselle Family? If that’s the case, why would she choose to be a bodyguard? It’s just too unbelievable!”

”The bankruptcy of the Yodani family was caused by the joint actions of the Wu Family, Ye Family, and Wen Family. The leading force was the Wu Family, whose influence in Japan Hikari should be aware of.” Yoda Song sighed, ”Although we haven’t fully investigated the matter, I suspect Luo Ye is somehow involved.

In such a short time, leading to the Yodani family’s bankruptcy, those three families also suffered losses. Why would they sacrifice so much for Luo Ye? They wouldn’t do a business that doesn’t profit, so what is their goal?” After another sigh from Yoda Song, ”No matter what, we were too careless. Lian Fengnan, the old fox, was simply using us!”

”Father, what should we do next?” Noda Hikari’s eyes showed fear, ”I don’t want to return to Japan. Can I?”

The unwillingness flashed and disappeared in Yoda Song’s eyes before he smiled, ”Even if the Yodani family goes bankrupt, we still count as a moderately well-off family. In the future, I’ll help Hikari find a good match, and Hikari will be happy.”

”Father, please don’t lie to me.” Noda Hikari’s eyes dimmed, ”If the Yodani family goes bankrupt, will the Sakai family let us off so easily? It seems, in his father’s heart, I truly have no position. Apparently, everything Luo Ye told me wasn’t a lie; I was wrong, truly wrong...”

”Hikari...” Old Ye Tian reached out to touch Noda Hikari’s head, feeling her resistance, he sighed, ”If Hikari doesn’t want to go back, don’t go back.”

”Are you saying this sincerely?” Noda Hikari looked at Yoda Song doubtfully.

”Of course it’s sincere; you’re my daughter. Why would I lie to you?” Yoda Song covered his forehead, ”Being born into a family like ours, there’s too much to bear. If Hikari doesn’t want to go back, she doesn’t have to go back.”

Noda Hikari’s eyes flickered with confusion: ”If so, will Yazi have to take my place? Will father be willing?”

”Hikari, things may not come to that, and the Sakai family might not have such intentions.” Yoda Song touched Noda Hikari’s head, ”Hikari, Mizuki hasn’t treated you well, and I’ve seen it all. It’s not that I don’t care about Hikari, but we know Mizuki’s temperament. If I intervene, she may do something extremely irrational, and eventually, Yazi might end up like Hikari.

Hikari is the elder sister and should not want Yazi to lose her mother like Hikari has, right? As for Yazi and Miyatazaki’s marriage, it’s indeed due to Mizuki’s insistence. But it’s true that Hikari doesn’t like Miyatazaki, isn’t it?

I tell Hikari these things because I hope Hikari understands that both Hikari and Yazi are equally important to me, and I don’t want either of you to be unhappy.

I’m asking Hikari to return not to bear anything but because I don’t want Hikari to be out there alone. Even if things turn out the way Hikari worries, I’ll do my utmost to protect Hikari.”

”Can I trust you?” Noda Hikari’s expression grew doubtful.

Yoda Song smiled wryly, ”Hikari is my biological daughter.”

”Father, I’ve decided to trust you.” Noda Hikari looked seriously at Yoda Song, ”In this world, the person closest to me is my father, so I choose to trust you.

Since my mother’s passing, no matter how Aunt Mizuki treated me or how Yazi bullied me, I’ve tolerated it. It’s not because I’m afraid of them, but because I care about my relationship with my father and don’t want my father to be unhappy.

Even though, I know at times father lies to me, I’m willing to trust him. I don’t know if saying this makes father think I’m silly, but I want to be foolish this once. If I’m wrong, from now on, I won’t trust anyone ever again.”

”Silly Hikari, how could father think you’re silly?” Yoda Song lovingly hugged his daughter’s shoulders, ”Alright, stop overthinking, let’s go out. You can hide for a while but not forever, they’ll surely find out about this...” As he spoke, Yoda Song’s phone rang. He answered it, exchanged a few words, and then sighed with relief, hanging up the phone with a relaxed face as he looked at Noda Hikari, ”Hikari, we have another leverage; we might not lose.”

”Another leverage?” Noda Hikari looked at her father in confusion.

```
”That’s right, let’s go. The Yodan Family might not necessarily go bankrupt because of this.” Yoda Song said, tidying his clothes before striding outward, while Noda Hikari quickly followed with small steps.
Japan.
Yang Miao looked incredulously at Yodatama Hei: ”Boss, are you really going to send me and this system back to China?”
”Yang, for the Yodan Family, we can only temporarily inconvenience you a bit.” Yodatama Hei patted his shoulder, ”You did a great job this time, I’ll make sure someone takes good care of your mother, don’t worry.”
”You can’t do this.” Yang Miao looked at him with red eyes, ”If it weren’t for my mother’s treatment, I wouldn’t have signed the contract with you, and I certainly wouldn’t do such a treasonous thing.
If I leave, my mother won’t survive for long, she can’t bear such a burden, Boss, I’m begging you, don’t send me back, I don’t want the bonus, just let me go, alright?”
”No.” Yodatama Hei nodded, and several strong men immediately stepped forward, lifting Yang Miao and taking him outside.
”Boss, don’t, Boss, you have to keep your word, Boss...” Yang Miao’s cries made Yodatama Hei even more annoyed, and he shouted sternly, ”Shut his mouth!”
With the sound of a muffled ”mmph,” there was no further sound.
Yodatama Hei sighed, leaning back in his chair with a worried expression.
For the Yodan Family to end up like this in such a short time was beyond his wildest dreams. Before his son left, he told him that after this ordeal, the Yodan Family would undergo a massive change, and indeed, the change was massive, just in another way entirely.
Wen Song looked at Yoda Song across from him with certainty, and smiled faintly: ”Are you saying that you have our Sky Net defense system?”
Yoda Song nodded: ”Yes, your researchers privately stole the system and brought it to our country, coincidentally selling it to the Yodan Family. Based on friendly relations, we don’t want to take advantage of your country, and we hope to exchange this system to ensure our investment is valid.”
Wen Song thought for a moment, his lips smiling deeper: ”You mean you won’t invest anymore, give us this system, and then our project’s profit sharing will still be paid to you, is that what you mean?”
”Yes, Mr. Wen should be very aware of the importance of the Sky Net system to your country. It’s something money can’t buy, and I can vouch with my character that we haven’t run that system; returning it to your country now won’t cause any loss.”
Wen Song waved his hand: ”Thank you for your kindness, Mr. Yodan, let’s just pass on this. We don’t want that system anymore; Mr. Yodan can sell it to whoever he wants. As for Yang Miao, he’ll receive the punishment he deserves, we won’t need to involve ourselves.”
Yoda Song’s eyes widened instantly, and after a while, he said: ”Mr. Wen means, you don’t want the Sky Net system anymore? You should know, your main system has already been deleted, now, this Sky Net system is unique, are you really sure you don’t want it?”
Wen Song waved his hand again: ”No, you can keep it, we’ll research a new one.”
”You’re not going to pursue this matter either?” Yoda Song was even more puzzled, knowing this situation seemed unusually strange given his understanding of China.
”Not pursuing it anymore, sell it to whoever you want, we’re not interested in things that have already been exposed.” Wen Song sighed, ”It’s just a pity that the Yodan Family went bankrupt like this, we’ll have to find another way for this investment.
However, we must demand the breach of contract penalty. Based on friendly relations, we won’t ask Mr. Yodan to pay the full amount as stipulated in the contract, just leave the deposit.”
Yoda Song almost fainted. His deposit was exactly the same amount as the breach of contract penalty, right? Hearing the other party’s tone sounded like he was giving them a great deal.
This matter doesn’t seem to have much meaning anymore, Yoda Song stood up, bowed politely: ”Thank you for your country’s care these past days, much appreciated.”
”You’re welcome, things are a bit busy recently, we won’t see you off, Mr. Yodan.” Wen Song waved to Yang Ming, ”Notify Director Ye, and have Mr. Yodan confirm the breach of contract.”
Yoda Song stumbled, continuing to walk out.
”Father...” Noda Hikari greeted him as he reached the door, looking at Yoda Song’s expression, she stopped and said no more.
Yoda Song waved: ”Hui Zi, go pack up.” (To be continued. If you like this work, please visit Qidian () to vote with recommendation tickets or monthly tickets. Your support is my greatest motivation.)
