After the car left the school gate, Feng Tianzhi glanced at Luo Ye sitting in the back seat through the rearview mirror: ”If you feel tired, lie down and rest for a bit.”

Luo Ye gave him a faint glance: ”Thank you, if you’re tired, I can take over driving.”

Feng Tianzhi’s narrow eyes squinted: ”You kid, truly ungrateful. Considering you’ve just had surgery, I wanted to show some concern. Is there really a need to act so prickly towards me?”

You’re the kid! Luo Ye silently grumbled to herself, forcing a fake smile on her face: ”Thank you, Captain Feng, for your concern. It was wrong of me not to appreciate it. I’ll take a quick nap then.” After saying that, she really closed her eyes and pretended to sleep.

Feng Tianzhi glanced at her, his lips curling up in amusement. Little girl, playing such petty tricks? Well, there’s plenty of time ahead; he is not in a hurry!

Without further conversation, the car pulled over half an hour later in a newly constructed neighborhood close to the district. Pretending to have just woken up, Luo Ye rubbed her face and got out of the car.

”Take a look at this.” Feng Tianzhi handed a fine-looking folder to Luo Ye. She glanced at the contents and frowned: ”Why didn’t you give this to me earlier, so I could use the time on the road...”

”Why didn’t you finish your sentence?” Feng Tianzhi teased with a triumphantly sly smile in his eyes.

Luo Ye cleared her throat, took a deep breath and with a look of satisfaction said: ”A little nap felt really good. Let me quickly read through the materials.” She then focused her eyes intently on the documents.

”Li Ruotong, real name Li Ailian, 20 years old, an exclusive artist at Sha City’s New Culture Communication Company. Discovered by New Culture Company’s talent scouts at the age of 17 and signed after one year of training to become a professional model, but only able to take part in ordinary shows.

Li Ruotong’s mother, Wang Qingli, 47 years old, has stayed by her daughter’s side since she signed the contract, taking on roles as both manager and nanny.

Li Ruotong’s father, Li Daguo, 49 years old, divorced Wang Qingli ten years ago and has since remarried, working as an ordinary worker at the Sha City Fertilizer Factory.

The apartment in room 201, building three in Cuwei District on East Sha Road, Sha City, is the house that Li Ruotong and her mother mortgaged after selling their old home. Recently, they surprisingly paid off the loan that was still two years from maturity...”

A gentle breeze caressed her cheeks, cool yet tinged with a faint warmth; Feng Tianzhi leaned comfortably against the car, watching the young lady peruse the documents seriously.

Her back facing the sunlight, she was framed by a bright halo, her delicate cheeks glowed with a rosy luster, long eyelashes casting down over her stirring silhouette, adding an extra touch of charm...

Feng Tianzhi’s expression became a bit bewildered, always seeing her as just an innocent, charming young girl. Since when did she acquire the beauty and allure of a mature woman? It was a charm emanating from within, dazzling and captivating!!

”This girl really looks like the Hong Kong movie star Li Ruotong; looks like her name is modeled after the actress, truly quite copycat,” Luo Ye mumbled after closing the folder, only to see Feng Tianzhi staring at her in a daze. She pursed her lips: ”Hey, captivated by a greenhorn like me, don’t you think it’s embarrassing?”

”Not embarrassing at all, it just proves my good taste,” Feng Tianzhi, returning to his senses, resumed his lazy demeanor and pointed toward the third building: ”Let’s go.”

”By the way, where did you find that photo taken at the time of the incident?” Luo Ye was referring to the last two photos in the folder showing Li Ruotong grabbed by a ruffian.

”From the camera beside the ATM.” Feng Tianzhi replied curtly: ”Too bad Wu Zetian and Yan Han moved out of camera range after their encounter with them, otherwise, we wouldn’t be having so much trouble!”

”I see,” Luo Ye slapped her forehead in frustration.

Feng Tianzhi chuckled at her: ”It’s normal that you didn’t think of it. First, you’re unfamiliar with the environment in Sha City, and second, concern causes confusion.”

The two arrived at apartment 201 in building three and rang the doorbell three times before the door cracked open. A well-fed middle-aged woman peeked out at them: ”Who are you looking for?”

Feng Tianzhi’s narrow eyes curved slightly: ”Hello, you must be Ms. Wang Qingli, right?”

”Yes,” Wang Qingli hesitated and nodded.

”We are here to see you and your daughter,” Feng Tianzhi said while forcefully pushing the door open. As the woman stumbled, Feng Tianzhi pulled Luo Ye in with him.

Wang Qingli, anxious, tugged at Luo Ye: ”Hey! Hey! Hey! Who are you people, if you don’t leave now, I’m going to call the police!”

”I am the team captain of GF University Team Five; I called you previously.” Feng Tianzhi said and showed her his credentials while scanning the room, then asked: ”Where is Li Ruotong?”

”She’s not here!” Wang Qingli’s face fell: ”Didn’t I make it clear over the phone? That incident doesn’t involve my daughter, and she doesn’t want to be in the newspapers for such matters. We are not interested in that kind of publicity.”
