I Can Gain One Skill Point Per Second

Chapter 129: Chapter 129: High-Difficulty Dungeon Entry Qualification! Time to Rush the Rank!

Seeing the passive skills section, Lin Yi remembered that at the third turn, he got a new passive skill.

He hadn’t had a chance to see what the effect was just now.

[Elemental Birth and Restraint]

[Type: Passive Skill]

[Level: Beginner]

[System: General System]

[Effect 1: All elemental magic you use now deals an additional 10% damage when attacking a target, based on the restraint relationship.]

[Effect 2: When using different elemental types of magic, you now cause the next magic after the previous cast to deal an additional 10% damage, based on the birth relationship.]

[Elemental Restraint Relationship: Water and fire restrain each other, light and dark restrain each other, lightning restrains wood, wood restrains earth, earth restrains lightning, wind attribute has neither a restraining nor being restrained relationship with other element systems, causing an additional 5% damage.]

[Elemental Birth Relationship: Wind→Fire, Fire→Earth, Earth→Dark, Dark→Water, Water→Lightning, Lightning→Light, Light→Wood, Wood→Wind]

This should be considered a classic passive damage-increasing skill.

Elements inherently have relationships of birth and restraint, but Lin Yi hadn’t paid much attention before.

And before obtaining this passive skill,

even if Lin Yi unintentionally triggered a restraint relationship, the damage was not increased.

But now, he has essentially unlocked this feature officially.

For other Mages, this passive skill might not be a particularly impressive damage-increasing passive.

Because the elemental systems they master are just one or two at most.

Sometimes, they couldn’t even manage to achieve elemental restraint.

Lin Yi now possesses four elemental systems.

It’s almost certain that he’ll acquire the other four systems afterward.

Otherwise, he’d have no place to use his abundant skill points.

Aside from playing restraint, the birth relationship boost is actually more useful.

Because this birth relationship ignores whether the opponent’s attributes are restraining, it can still apply the damage boost.

For example, before casting the eighth-level Divine Fire Celestial Expedition, Lin Yi could first use the lowest level of wind attribute magic, Wind Blade.

This way, Divine Fire Celestial Expedition would deal an additional 10% damage.

”Fellow student, please show your student ID.”

Unknowingly, Lin Yi had already reached the entrance of the Dungeon Sanctuary.

The guard’s words brought Lin Yi back to reality.

He swiped his student card and entered the Dungeon Sanctuary.

Lin Yi suddenly felt his phone vibrate in his pocket. Taking it out, he saw that it was a message from Nangong Ling.

”Where are you? I found the source of one of the materials you wanted.”

Lin Yi replied: ”Just arrived at the Dungeon Sanctuary.”

”Then you might need to head to the Arena first...”

”The thing you wanted, that ’third leg,’ is part of the special reward mechanism after clearing a high-difficulty Desert Sea Gold Hunt in the second layer: produced in the Desert Vortex.”

”This dungeon can only be entered once a month.”

”Since there’s a chance to gain a random extra reward in the Desert Vortex after clearing the dungeon, it’s a must-clear-dungeon every month for most Shenxiao second-year students.”

”Even us third-years set aside time each month to form a team and raid this dungeon for treasure.”

”I checked the academy’s treasury, and there’s no stock of Sand Pirate King Roger’s third leg, you’ll have to farm it.”

”The tricky part is, to reliably obtain this material from the Desert Vortex, you need to clear it quickly.”

”Only the first thirty teams to clear this dungeon each month have a chance to choose a reward during the Desert Vortex’s reward phase.”

”My team makes it into the top ten every month, but I’ve already raided it this month, so I can’t take you...”

”It’s been several days since the start of the month, no idea how many teams have cleared it.”

”But now the problem isn’t just this, the dungeon is high difficulty, normally you’d need to be in the second year and have reached the fourth turn or higher to have a chance to clear it.”

”So the academy set it to a B rating and above to qualify for entry.”

”You need to find a way to push your rating, and the quicker the better, aim to get into the top thirty for the self-select reward opportunity!”

The phone vibrated continuously, and Lin Yi received a string of messages from Nangong Ling.

It was evident how much she was slacking off in class.

It could be said she put all her thoughts on him.

Lin Yi tapped his fingers, sent Nangong Ling a thank-you emoji and added: ”Thank you, senior, sorry for the trouble, I’ll treat you to a meal tomorrow!”

Then Lin Yi put his phone back in his pocket.

Left the Dungeon Sanctuary again.

Fighting and using damaging skills is strictly prohibited within Shenxiao Campus.

But apparently, the teleport skill like Lightning Flash isn’t included.

Due to time constraints, Lin Yi directly used several flashes in succession, causing a huge commotion across the campus.

”Whoa, what just flew past?!”

”Did you hear the thunder?”

”Damn, it’s so flashy!”

”I’ve said it so many times, don’t use skills casually on campus! Catch him!”

”Catch what? You can’t see anything!”

Half a minute later, Lin Yi traversed a path that normally took over forty minutes.

Re-entered the Shenxiao Arena.

Lin Yi once again felt the intense competitive atmosphere of the Shenxiao Arena.

Even though it’s summer vacation.

Even though some academy students still have classes now.

The place is always bustling, full of fighting spirit.

The big screen showed a focus battle.

The host’s voice remained enthusiastic and passionate.

”Student, entertainment duel or rank competition?” The entry staff looked at Lin Yi and asked.

The PK competition in the arena, of course, has types.

The entertainment duel is like a match in LOL, with the system automatically matching you with opponents of the same rank in the arena.

Victory or defeat only affects your win rate and doesn’t offer any extra rewards.

The rank competition is like a ranking match.

”Rank competition.”

”Alright, please swipe your card to enter.”

Swiped his student card.

Lin Yi walked into the waiting area for rank competition.

This is another special Illusion Realm instance, exactly like the tournament he participated in before.

In this Illusion Realm instance, Lin Yi could choose the opponent he wanted to challenge.

But before he even opened the list,

he suddenly received a prompt.

[Ding! Lin Yi, during your temporary absence from the Shenxiao Arena, you received a total of 167 rank challenge applications!]

[145 of those challenge applications were canceled by the challengers!]

[Out of the remaining 22 challenge applications, there is currently 1 challenger in the arena waiting area!]

[Detected that you successfully defeated an opponent in a previous rank match, now you must accept the challenge from this challenger, will you start the battle immediately?]

[Note! If you refuse this fight, in 4 days, you must resolve this challenge, otherwise, the rewards and resources related to your current rating will be temporarily suspended and frozen!]

Lin Yi felt a chill down his spine.

Goodness, he just didn’t come to the arena for four or five days and received so many challenge applications.

Now he’s in a state where he must accept the challenge, apparently always refusing battles ends up like this.
