I Can Gain One Skill Point Per Second

Chapter 99: Chapter 99: Magic Tide! The Era of Zero Mana Cost Forbidden Curses Begins!

At this moment, in Lin Yi’s skill list.

There are a total of five specialization systems, with dozens of skills.

To be honest, Lin Yi feels that his current active skills are too many.

Counting the Forbidden Curses, each system has nine active skills.

But passive skills are too few.

However, this is also the norm for low-level profession changers in this world.

Because if the drop rate of active skill books is extremely rare.

Then the drop rate of passive skills is simply insane.

Perhaps the entire Xia’s annual output is less than 30,000 volumes.

And once they come out, they are instantly snatched up.

The main way for most professionals to obtain passive skills is through career change quests and completing career change assessments.

Every time they change their profession, they will at least randomly awaken a legitimate passive skill of their own specialization system.

Lin Yi currently has more than 1.8 million skill points left.

These remaining skill points are enough to level three passive skills to tier 8.

Or upgrade one skill from tier 7 to the ninth Forbidden Curse Layer.

For passive skills, tier 9 is the peak, with no evolution to Ancient Forbidden Curse or Super Divine Forbidden Curse.

Should he spread the three passives to tier 8, or focus one to the highest level?

After much consideration.

Lin Yi ultimately chose the former.

These three passive skills are all too useful, and overall, it’s surely most beneficial for all three skills to be upgraded.

Moreover, this will provide him with judgment for further advancement of a particular skill.

When he upgrades the three passives to the Forbidden Curse Layer next time, he’ll be able to quickly determine the priority.

Having made the decision, Lin Yi started allocating points with one click.

[Upgrade passive skill: Mana Storm to tier 8, requires 500,000 skill points, proceed with one-click upgrade?]

[Consumed 500,000 skill points, your passive skill Mana Storm advanced, you gained a new passive skill: Magic Tide!]

[Upgrade passive skill: Divine Grace Chant to tier 8, requires 500,000 skill points, proceed with one-click upgrade?]

[Consumed 500,000 skill points, your passive skill Divine Grace Chant advanced, you gained a new passive skill: Holy Spirit Chant!]

[Upgrade passive skill: Indestructible Dharma Body to tier 8, requires 500,000 skill points, proceed with one-click upgrade?]

[Consumed 500,000 skill points, your passive skill Indestructible Dharma Body advanced, you gained a new passive skill: Element Absorption!]

1.5 million skill points directly spent.

Lin Yi upgraded all three passive skills to tier 8.

Lin Yi opened the skill bar and started checking them one by one.

[Magic Tide]

[Type: Passive Skill]

[Tier: Tier 8]

[System: General System]

[Effect 1: The mana value cost of all the spells you cast is reduced by 80%, and your mana value cap from all sources is increased tenfold, recovering 10% of your max mana per second.]

[Effect 2: Now your total mana value will fluctuate like a tide.]

[You can actively adjust the skill mode to low tide or high tide mode.]

[When the skill is in low tide mode, your mana value cap is reduced by 50%, and mana recovery speed is reduced by 50%.]

[When switching to high tide mode, for every 1 hour spent in low tide, in high tide your mana value cap increases by 10%, and mana recovery speed increases by 10%, up to an additional 100% mana value cap, and 100% mana recovery speed during high tide.]

[Effect 3: Every 6 hours, you gain a layer of tide charge; when you hold tide charges, you can cast any specialty spell below tier 9 for free, effective up to 3 times, with a maximum stack of 10 times.]

[When you gain 10 layers of tide charge, you can choose to consume all 10 layers at once, making the mana cost of a tier 9 spell 0, lasting until the next use of that spell.]

[The maximum effective number of spells for this effect: 3.]

[Note: When remaining in low tide for more than 3 hours, you can switch to high tide, and the longer you stay in low tide each time, the longer the endurance time switching to high tide.]

[Current mode: Low tide]

[Tide exchange ratio: 60 minutes low tide = 10 minutes high tide.]

[Remark: As the moon rises and falls, the tides wax and wane, the myriad magics are eternal.]

Lin Yi was bewildered after reading this skill.

No, do all tier 8 skills like writing essays like this?!

But after thoroughly understanding this skill.

Lin Yi became excited.

Now, to liken his tier 8 mana recovery and reduction passive skill to something.

It’s like having two modes.

One is power-saving mode.

One is overclocking mode.

In power-saving mode, it’s clearly storing energy for overclocking mode, allowing it to burst with greater performance.

And in practice.

Lin Yi can fully enable low tide mode during eating, drinking, and living daily life without needing to fight.

And when running dungeons, killing monsters, and doing quests requires combat, he can switch to high tide mode.

Letting his mana value cap double directly.

This point is crucial!

Very crucial!

Because this effect is calculated after other mana value cap increases before the final settlement.

With Lin Yi’s current level 60, wearing the attributes of the [Eternal Rest] set.

His mana value cap has already surpassed the 200,000 mark.

After obtaining Magic Tide, during high tide, he now has a blue pool of 400,000.

Even without the free cast layers from tide charge, Lin Yi can now cast several tier 8 skills relying on his mana pool.

However, the million mana cost of the Forbidden Curse is still rather overpowered and exaggerated.

This had been a headache for Lin Yi before.

Because he had the Forbidden Curses.

But couldn’t use them.

The only way to use the Forbidden Curse was one pathway.

That’s to first use the fire system’s tier 8 Flame Spirit Sublimation.

In sublimation state, he can release a zero-mana cost [Forbidden Spell: Celestial Fall of the Eight Desolates].

But it’s limited to fire element Forbidden Curses.

The recently acquired [Thunder God’s Fury] can’t be used even in Flame Spirit Sublimation state.

Now it’s different.

[Magic Tide] increases the free cast layers from a maximum of 3 to a maximum of 10.

And consuming 10 layers allows reducing the mana cost of a Forbidden Curse to 0.

This effect can be used on three spells.

Allowing Lin Yi to preemptively reduce the mana cost of three different Forbidden Curses to zero.

To be prepared for any situation.

Awesome!

”Whew...”

”Junior, we’ve arrived. Up ahead is the Dungeon Sanctuary.”

”You have 10 chances today to enter the first floor dungeon. You’ll need to present your student card for entry.”

Nangong Ling’s words suddenly snapped Lin Yi out of his excitement from adding points and upgrading skills.

Lin Yi looked up and saw the round tower he had been seeing since entering Shenxiao was now right in front of him.

Upon approaching, the grandeur and magnificence of the round tower became apparent.

Looking up, the top of the tower even connects to the dark outer universe space, making it look both sacred and solemn.
