I Can Gain One Skill Point Per Second

Chapter 78: Chapter 78: The Attitude of the Leadership, Claiming the Reward!

”Within our human race, it’s impossible to be completely united.”

”There will always be disputes between people for various reasons, let alone between nations.”

”Besides, the entire Abyss World, with its countless alien civilizations, would love nothing more than to devour our Blue Star civilization whole!”

”The resources of the entire universe are limited. For a civilization to develop and survive, it must engage in struggle and plunder, a life-and-death battle!”

These words from Mr. Meng.

Made Lin Yi truly realize for the first time the crisis that the Xia, and indeed, the entire Blue Star Human Race, was facing at the moment.

He also understood the vision and breadth of the elderly man before him, and indeed, the entire leadership of the Xia.

Their level of consciousness had already reached the stage of ”civilization’s survival.”

Though Lin Yi admired them, to be honest, he didn’t want to view everything from such a high perspective.

His desire for power and to become stronger was simply to find a foothold in this world.

”Alright, I’ve digressed. Let me reintroduce myself, my name is Meng Yuanzhou, just call me Mr. Meng.”

”The only thing you need to know is that I’m saying these things to you today to let you know.”

”We value talent greatly.”

”You, Xia Yuyan, Lu Yu, and indeed all candidates who can make it to the fifth round.”

”In the future, you will all achieve something significant.”

”You are the successors to our legacy and the hope of Xia, and indeed, the entire human race.”

”So we will spare no expense to protect you and ensure you thrive!”

”I can see that you’re more mature than others, as if an old soul resides within your 18-year-old body, haha!”

Meng Yuanzhou laughed heartily to himself at the end.

Only then did Lin Yi feel at ease.

If the leadership of Xia truly intended to be unfavorable to him.

To be honest, Lin Yi found that he wouldn’t have any room to struggle.

He was strong.

But compared to those who have lived for centuries, with their skills, equipment, talents, martial spirits...

In all aspects, they were maxed out, and he was still no match.

”Alright, let’s not waste words, Lin Yi, I have high hopes for you.”

”I understand your family background and now have a bit more understanding of you personally; I don’t want you to fall and perish at some future point.”

”We’ve suffered too many painful lessons.”

”So I must remind you to maintain your current good habit of caution.”

”In this world, there are unimaginable skills, items, area effects, Spirit Crystal inscriptions... far too many.”

”Don’t attract attention from those with an agenda, you young people have a saying...”

”Oh, right, survive and thrive, don’t take risks!”

”However, you’re already this year’s national exam top scorer now; that’s impossible to hide, so you just have to be extra careful yourself.”

”At other times, I want you to keep a low profile, and when you become a War God, when this world can do nothing against you, you can be as untamed as you like!”

Lin Yi nodded, humbly accepting the advice: ”I will, Mr. Meng.”

Seeing Lin Yi’s response, Meng Yuanzhou felt very gratified, suddenly remembering something, he asked: ”By the way, you leveled up to 60 in the instance just now, right?”

”Received the entry invitation for Descent Abyss layer 0?”

Lin Yi nodded.

He just wanted to inquire about Descent Abyss.

Meng Yuanzhou said: ”I’ll keep it brief.”

”You should already have a basic understanding of the Abyss.”

”The City of Departed Light and Noah Ruins you experienced are both types of Abyss instances.”

”But these instances are actually superficial Abyss instances.”

”You can imagine the Abyss World as an endless deep sea.”

”Most Abyss instances are like floating ships on the sea surface.”

”While Descent Abyss means you officially dive below the sea surface!”

”The Abyss World, from the surface to the deep layers, each layer has specific Abyss rules, and the instance difficulty will increase gradually.”

”Of course, the rewards are also richer.”

”Descent Abyss layer 0 is the first hurdle you step towards the deeper layers.”

”Also, it’s your only chance to acquire a high-grade talent before Descent Abyss layer 20!”

Upon hearing this, Lin Yi’s eyes lit up: ”You mean, Descent Abyss layer 0 will award an extra talent?”

”It could also be exclusive equipment, or a permanent buff!”

”In short, Descent Abyss layer 0 is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for every professional!”

”However, the instances in Descent Abyss layer 0 differ.”

”Kid, do you know what the difference is between our country’s top universities and those 211, 985 super elite universities?”

Lin Yi shook his head: ”I don’t know.”

This was actually something Lin Yi had always been curious about.

Everyone had been feeding him the notion to study hard, get a good ranking.

Then choose a good university, which would greatly benefit the path of a professional in the future!

So what is the difference exactly?

Is it theoretical knowledge?

Lin Yi thought that in this Catastrophe Era, while information is precious, it’s not something any individual or organization can tightly hold onto.

There’s no wall in the world impenetrable by the wind.

Is it rare resources?

Through Xia’s merit points, I can exchange for those things too.

In fact, the best way to earn merit points is not by attending a Professional University for further study, but by directly joining the military.

Joining the Professional Alliance Army, just by making meritorious contributions, you can earn a lot of merit points.

Therefore, these top global institutions must have something that other organizations don’t!”

”It’s the instances.”

Meng Yuanzhou gave the answer.

”Specifically, it’s the entry qualification for the instances.”

”Once you enter university, you’ll naturally get a deep understanding of this, so I won’t elaborate too much.”

”I’ll just say one thing.”

”That is, the top three global universities possess the most special Descent Abyss layer 0 instances.”

”If you accept the invitation to Descent Abyss layer 0 now, you’ll only enter the most ordinary, lowest difficulty Descent Abyss layer 0, which is unified across Blue Star.”

”The reward cap only goes up to A-class.”

”However, the special Descent Abyss layer 0 instances mastered by the top university of each country have a reward cap of up to SSS-class!”

Lin Yi fully understood.

Thus, the advantage of the top universities over other civil organizations is manifested!

”You probably don’t have to worry about admission now.”

”The national first place!”

”Moreover, achieving full marks in all five rounds, a rarity unseen in many years.”

”It should be you picking schools, not the schools picking you!”

”Alright, now Li Qianye and the others should be busy with the national ranking announcement, which will be publicly released across the country in about an hour. Go find him to claim this national top scorer’s reward now.”

...

Lin Yi thanked Meng Yuanzhou and left the room, retracing his steps.

When he found Li Qianye.

Lin Yi noticed that the chief examiner’s attitude towards him had undergone a complete reversal.

With even a hint of respect in his words.

”Here for the reward, right.”

”Sit, come, sit here!”

”Old Jiang, what are you standing there for, hurry and pour tea for our national top scorer! Use the top-grade green tea I bought the year before last!”

Lin Yi was warmly welcomed by Li Qianye.

Upon hearing about the prized green tea, Lin Yi noticed the expressions of Li Qianye’s subordinates changed when they looked at him.
