I Can Gain One Skill Point Per Second

Chapter 57: Chapter 57: Breakthrough Spirit Crystal Acquired! Thunder Skill Book!

”Are you sure you want to exchange it for money?”

”I must remind you that, purely from a value perspective, the money you can get for 1000 tradeable skill points cannot buy 1000 skill points!”

Lin Yi certainly understood this principle.

But to him, the value of money was far higher than those 1000 skill points.

Lin Yi nodded and said, ”I’m sure.”

Li Yuanjing took another look at Lin Yi.

Very quickly, he thought of something. Even though this kid had already achieved first place in the whole province, he seemed to have overlooked a key point.

That was his background!

He came from a level-five base city like Jiangcheng.

He didn’t have any family background either.

He must have put in countless times more effort than ordinary people and experienced fortuitous encounters to achieve what he has today!

For an ordinary professional, relying solely on oneself without any external help is very difficult.

He couldn’t fully empathize.

But he could understand.

Li Yuanjing even imagined that Lin Yi’s family situation was extremely difficult, and the kid planned to earn more to support his family.

He took a deep breath and said, ”Here’s the deal: according to our Xia Treasure Vault management regulations, if you don’t want the skill points and wish to exchange them for Xia currency, you will definitely incur a loss.”

”The loss is about 20%, but today I’ll cover this 20% out of my own pocket for you.”

”Your 1000 tradeable skill points can be exchanged for about 5.35 million Xia currency, which will soon be deposited into your account along with the 1 million scholarship!”

”Alright, there is still one more reward you can choose. Take a look at the list, and let me know your decision, and I’ll have someone fetch it immediately.”

As he spoke, Li Yuanjing led Lin Yi to a treasury window.

This window didn’t have any staff, only a spirit crystal.

Using his deputy director’s access card, he swiped it at the spirit crystal’s sensor, and the next moment, the light screen of the spirit crystal lit up.

He clicked a few times, set the treasure list interface to a filter function, and set the level to after level 2, allowing Lin Yi to look on his own.

Lin Yi walked up to the light screen, touched the list with his fingers, and swiped up and down.

Soon after, he was astounded by the rarity of the items on the list.

Firstly, the breakthrough magic crystal that Lin Yi had been yearning for was glaringly on the list.

Even though its rating was also at T2 level, the number of pieces he could get was 3, which was more than sufficient to unlock his necromancy element branch skill tree.

Besides that, Lin Yi also saw many other great things he had never seen or even heard of.

[Attribute Magic Crystal (Spirit)]

[Grade: Gold Level]

[Type: One-time consumable]

[Use: Randomly gain 5-10 points of Spirit attribute value.]

[Note: The maximum attribute value you can gain from this grade of attribute magic crystal is 999 points. Beyond this limit, this grade of attribute magic crystal will no longer be effective for you.]

From the notes, Lin Yi learned that this thing was a result of using the magic crystal technology discovered by the Blue Star Human Race from the abyss, combined with the spiritual objects of heaven and earth, also known as heavenly treasures, finally manufactured through alchemy into a deep-processed product.

It could directly give attribute points!

Besides magic crystals that could increase attribute points,

Lin Yi also saw special magic crystals that could increase critical strike and casting speed!

However, the grades of these two types of magic crystals were only at the bronze level, with the increase in attributes, like critical strike for example, being only 0.05%.

Then T1 level treasures should have even higher grade magic crystals of this kind.

Perhaps there might be magic crystals that reduce skill cooldowns too.

These are indeed good things; Lin Yi was somewhat envious.

Besides magic crystals with various functions, Lin Yi also saw a large number of spiritual objects that also provided permanent bonuses.

And various scrolls.

These scrolls could increase a professional’s experience points.

Some were also entry passes for rare resource dungeons.

Lin Yi even saw equipment at the end of the list!

And all this equipment was platinum level or above!

The attribute bonuses were very high, and the special effects were not bad.

However, once selected, this equipment was not permanently acquired.

The usage time was clearly marked on them!

That’s right, this equipment is rented to you!

After selection, you gain a month’s usage time, and it will be recorded in the Xia Country’s equipment management system. If anything happens, blame will still be pursued.

Also, if it is damaged, you must compensate for it at the original price.

Lin Yi shook his head; he would not be such a big fool.

The further down the list, the lower the cost-effectiveness of the items.

Besides renting equipment, Lin Yi also saw many engineering constructs, like portable shrapnel mines that could create large-scale explosions.

And various potions with extremely strong effects, all with durations.

After viewing the entire list, Lin Yi finally decided to take the breakthrough magic crystal first.

This thing was too crucial for him.

Upon hearing Lin Yi’s final choice,

Li Yuanjing showed an unsurprised expression.

”Most people choose breakthrough magic crystal like you.”

”Keep it up; if you get good rankings in the fifth round, our Xia official will also reward you.”

Li Yuanjing instructed his men to fetch the breakthrough magic crystal and personally handed it to Lin Yi.

It was a wooden box.

Lin Yi opened the box to see three transparent magic crystals inside, shimmering with a faint crimson light and shrouded in dark mist.

[Breakthrough Magic Crystal]

[Grade: Diamond Level]

[Type: One-time consumable]

[Effect 1: Unlock branch skill tree.]

[Effect 2: Increase one of your skill specialization levels by one stage.]

[Effect 3: Before entering the abyss dungeon, sacrifice a certain number of this item to increase the difficulty of the abyss dungeon by one level.]

[Note: During one usage period, you can only choose one effect to be effective.]

Lin Yi was somewhat surprised.

Unexpectedly, the breakthrough magic crystal had a special effect that could increase the difficulty of the abyss dungeon.

Seeing it this way, the value of his [Abyss Conqueror] title was priceless!

It essentially saved him a great deal of the breakthrough magic crystal’s cost.

After all, when his level rises in the future, he will spend most of his time in the abyss dungeon.

Higher difficulty means higher rewards.

”Alright, there is still one final reward you need to choose, which is the skill book. Choose one and collect it.”

Li Yuanjing adjusted the treasury light screen, and in the next moment, a list of skill books for the mage profession system appeared before Lin Yi.

Lin Yi was still learning for the first time that the mage profession system’s elemental specializations had so many types.

[Fire Attribute], [Wind Attribute], [Ice Attribute], [Water Attribute], [Earth Attribute]...

These were the more common elemental types.

So the skill book list’s skill books were all at the third level.

Otherwise, they wouldn’t match the rarity of T2 level.

Besides these, Lin Yi also saw relatively rare elemental types.

[Light Element], [Dark Element], [Thunder Element], [Wood Element].

The only absence was the necromancy element he had already gained.

It seemed the rarity of necromancy element skill books was above these elemental types.

Initially, he really had a stroke of luck!

Thinking it over and over, Lin Yi eventually chose the Thunder Element.

For no other reason.

He simply felt that the Thunder King had a strong presence!
